Tropical Attitude

We had a perfect stay at this charming hotel. The rooms were basic, but clean and comfortable with views to die for! The staff were so friendly and helpful and we especially looked forward to our towel sculptures every day which ranged from kissing swans to an amazing hanging orangutan! The variety and quality of food was very good, from the buffet style breakfast at Bor Lamer which also had a good choice of hot options cooked to order, à la carte lunch menu and buffet dinner, again with additional items cooked to order. We also had 2 lovely meals at Kot Nou and sampled the street style food at Taba J’s which was, again, very good. All in all, exceptional value for money and would definitely recommend.

We first visited this hotel 20 years ago for our honeymoon so we thought we'd go again and weren't disappointed. The hotel has seen a lot of changes since we first visited but it's just made a fantastic place even better. We opted for an upstairs room this time around so we could sit out with a bit of a view. The room was nice, functional and perfect for what we needed, after all, we didn't plan on spending that much time in there. The whole hotel is quiet small and intimate which is fantastic for a nice relaxing holiday although there is plenty to do if you want to go out and about which is highly recommended as Mauritius is such a beautiful place to visit. I had emailed ahead to let them know that we were spending our anniversary there and from that very first contact with Emilie in Customer Service we were absolutely blown away by the service we received and the way in which all of the Staff endeavoured to make sure our stay was memorable. Food here is fantastic and you certainly won't go hungry. There's plenty of variety at all mealtimes with a great selection from the main restaurant as well as Tabba J (street food) at lunch and the Kot Nou (Mauritian food) on selected evenings. I also did a cooking class with Chef Vickash, which is free, just book with Karen at Guest Relations. The thing that absolutely makes this hotel are the Staff, every single one of them will go out of your way to make you stay memorable and are just so good at what they do. People such as Christophe and Vikash have been there a long time and were there when we first visited. Just some of the Staff Members who made it so memorable: Christophe, Sunil, Karuna, Seevangee (best of wishes for your upcoming wedding), Jasraj, Adesh in the Restaurant. Chefs Vickash and kamlesh. Vishan, Visham and Sanjoo at the Bar. Ram, on of the F and B Managers. Kamini, our room cleaner and maker of the best towel art. Deva, one of the Management Trainees they have working there. The Reception Staff, always helpful and always had a smile on their faces. Last of all to Karen from Guest Relations, this lady knows all there is to know and is just so helpful and accommodating. Before you book any trips go and have a chat with her as she'll always be able to help out. Thankyou again I tried to get as many names as I could but I apologise for those I've missed. You don't have to tip individuals but there is a large tip box at Reception so you can contribute to that as it is totalled up and divided amongst all staff that work there.

Rooms right by the sea and execellent service. TROPICAL ATTITUDE has turquoise water sea views and is super clean and plastic free. It us a really good hotel that offers a unique exoerience.
