Veranda Paul and Virginie Hotel & Spa

We had planned a visit to Mauritius in May of this year however the Middle East war put paid to that! We were unable to book the original hotel and decided on Paul & Virginie as it was a small adults only hotel. We arrived at the hotel before checkin time however our room was ready and after a tour of the hotel, we reached our room. We had a privilege room on an All Inclusive basis. The room was quite spacious and very clean. Shower Gel, shampoo and body lotion were supplied and was very nice. Plenty water left in the mini bar as well as some beer and coke. We had a Nespresso machine but were shocked to discover you had to pay for the pods! The balcony was quite large and we were pleased that it was in shade most of the day. The only downside of the room was the water temperature. At the beginning of our stay the water was a pleasant shower temperature however as time went on, it was only ‘warm’ making showering a bit of a chore rather than a pleasure. We did report it and staff checked regularly with us to establish if the temperature had improved. Unfortunately it hadn’t. Part of the deal with the Privilege room was a catamaran trip. We booked it and on the day, we waited at the pier for 45 mins. When we enquired at reception as to what was happening, we were told it had been cancelled. Apparently they tried to contact us but didn’t get us. Perhaps someone should have come to the pier to let us know. We did get it changed to the next day and it was a very enjoyable trip. The food in the buffet restaurant was very fresh and varied. It was very tasty. Although we could use the St Germain restaurant we only had lunch there on one day. This was mainly because the weather was a bit cold and windy and the restaurant was more open to the elements than the buffet. The lunch we had was very nice. Also, it’s mainly seafood and my husband doesn’t eat fish. The bar area was quite compact with a limited number of seats. Fortunately we managed to get a seat every night as it was too cold to sit outside. The bar staff were excellent keeping our drinks topped up and always remembering our favourite tipple. It was disappointing though to see people vaping inside the bar. You need to sign for all your drinks even if on AI. The evening entertainment was fine, mainly local musicians. I would however say “Cedric, please don’t sing🥹🥹”. The grounds were well kept but we were a bit concerned about the number of coconuts on trees. This could be extremely dangerous should they fall on someone ! Most places we have visited that have palm trees in the gardens, have the coconuts removed for safety reasons. The Blue Pool was out of commission one of the weeks we were there due to a problem with leakage however we never saw any work being undertaken. There were sufficient sunbeds, we never had an issue getting one. There is a Departure Room guests can use on their final day if on a late flight. You need to book it in advance and only get 30 mins per couple however that was sufficient time to shower etc. Unlike many hotels where food and drink stop at check out time, we could eat and drink right up to departure. The staff were all very friendly and the resort was lovely.

Excellent holiday really good hotel of a high standard. Staff were all very friendly and attentive, no issue was found to be difficult. Staff dealt with all queries promptly and professionally. Would definitely recommend to other and hopefully we will return in the future.

What an amazing stay here and Veranda Paul Et Virginie Hotel & Spa!!! The staff were so friendly!!! The all inclusive package is a must! Food was top of the range (breakfast, lunch and dinner). A lovely honeymoon destination!!!! You can choose either sitting by the infinity pool with a beautiful view or sitting on the beach relaxing with a stunning view as well! Water sports are available to enjoy and it sure is a lot of fun! We are definitely coming back to relax and enjoy!!!
