Just come back from zilwa attitude after 2weeks in paradise First thing unfortunately the flight from the uk via Dubai on emerates is a nightmare 19 hours but worth it when you arrive Dubai airport is huge but well signposted to get to your connection Check in at Mauritius was quick make sure you have completed the immigration form before you leave the uk On arrival at the hotel via taxi the driver was very informative regarding facts about the island and various points of interest We arrived at the hotel around 12:30 unfortunately our room wasn’t ready but we had some lunch and then checked in and had a early night Everything about the hotel was excellent the rooms were comfortable but not what you would have in Jamaica or Mexico it was a completely different experience The pools were good especially the adult pool the beach area was good and the sea was calm about 4 feet at the deepest point with a good choice of water sports The 2 things that in my opinion makes the hotel stand out over the other hotels we have stayed at is the food and the people First the food no complaints what so ever the morning buffet had so much choice and in the evening it was even better At lunch we ate in the beach restaurant once again a good choice of food There are 4 al a carte restaurants and booking them was easy just go along to the guest relations desk our 2 favourite Restraunts were the Indian and the Thai restaurants the food and service was beyond excellent every time we went to them the staff remembered us and greeted us with a smile Secondly and probably to us were the staff we were made to feel welcomed from the first minute I couldn’t select a member of staff for praise because everyone you came in contact with was extremely polite and friendly I have never seen people smile as much the staff couldn’t do enough for you whatever request was dealt with straight away nothing was too much trouble It was our first time in Mauritius and I am glad we chose zilwa attitude to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary Also the hotel got us a photographer to capture our special day so we have something to look back at our memories After staying in hotels all around the world I can definitely recommend Zilwa Attitude if your visiting Mauritius Thankyou

Where to begin… the most beautiful hotel on the most beautiful island, made even more special by the wonderful people who work there. 💖 We travelled as a family of 10 to celebrate my husband’s 70th birthday, with our children and grandchildren, aged between 4 and 10. From the moment we arrived, we knew we were going to have a very special holiday. We arrived a little too early to check in, but were welcomed so warmly and shown to a wonderful buffet breakfast. Afterwards, we were able to get changed and relax by the pool until our rooms were ready. We had asked if our rooms could be close together, and we were delighted to find all three in the same block. We stayed in Block 1500, with beautiful sea views. The rooms were spacious, airy and spotlessly clean. There are seven restaurants, five of which require booking through Guest Services. We had absolutely no problem getting reservations and, in fact, visited some of the restaurants more than once. Tadka, the Indian restaurant, was incredible. The food was amazing, and the staff went out of their way to make sure we could try lots of different dishes. A special thank you to Ranjit, Rishi and all the wonderful team at Tadka. Manao, the Thai restaurant, is set over a beautiful water garden. Again, the food was gorgeous. A special shout-out to Adarsh and Imran, who went above and beyond to make my husband’s birthday meal so special. Kot Nou, serving traditional Mauritian food, was another highlight. Mohun and his team, including Bibek and chefs Vick and Shristy, gave us another fabulous evening to remember. Lor Disab, the beach restaurant, quickly became a favourite. We had lunch there on quite a few days, as well as visiting the street-food van Taba-J, where the children often picked up wraps and chips for lunch. A special thank you to Catherine for keeping our kids topped up with popcorn most days! 😂 In the evenings, the beach restaurant becomes adults-only, which gave our older children the chance to enjoy it while we took the younger ones to the buffet. They came back saying the food was outstanding! For breakfast and some evening meals, we ate at Karay, the buffet restaurant, which has an enormous variety of food to suit every taste. The little ones absolutely loved it, and it’s also worth mentioning that all the themed restaurants have fantastic children’s menus. One of the absolute highlights of the hotel has to be Gran Zil BBQ. You take a boat there at 11am, and the setting is simply breathtaking. It’s such a beautiful place, with a fantastic BBQ, a wonderful atmosphere and plenty of rum punch! 🍹 There are also plenty of bars, including Siro Kann in the lobby, which has entertainment every evening, as well as the pool and beach bars, Pirogue. The staff are constantly coming around to take orders and deliver drinks to your loungers, always with a smile and a laugh. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble. A very special mention to Arvine at Siro Kann, who helped make our little ones’ holiday so memorable, and to Suman, who was absolutely amazing. Suraj at the beach bar also deserves a huge thank you for keeping us supplied with drinks by the pool and on the beach — always with a smile. There are honestly so many lovely people I could probably write a book about them all! Zalfah and Kunal at breakfast and the beach restaurant, Pratab at the beach towel hut, who remembered all our names after just the first day, and Manoj in housekeeping, who kept our room immaculate and even left a beautiful birthday floral tribute for my husband. And of course, a huge thank you to all the pool staff and gardeners who keep the grounds looking so beautiful, along with everyone in Guest Services, the bellboys and the reception team. You all played a part in making our stay so special. Last but certainly not least, POZ Spa. Our four granddaughters, aged 8 and 10, had mini facials and absolutely loved the experience. They were treated like little princesses by Neena and Sharmila, which was such a lovely touch. 💕 We also have to mention all the wonderful staff at the boathouse, where we took a boat to the island and enjoyed kayaking, the glass-bottom boat and pedalos. They were all so friendly and helpful. On the beach, there are a couple of lovely guys selling souvenirs and organising trips. These sellers are approved by the hotel, and it was lovely for the children to chat to the same guys every day rather than having random sellers approaching them. We also felt very comfortable purchasing from them because they were there every day and clearly part of the hotel’s approved activities. We booked a trip with Big John and his son Brian on their speedboat, which was a truly memorable day. We also met Sunny at Basing Hill Tours, opposite the hotel, who organised a fantastic trip to see the dolphins at a very reasonable cost. The hotel itself is stunning, the food is exceptional, but what really makes this place so special is the people. Every member of staff we met was friendly, attentive and genuinely seemed to care about making our stay memorable. Celebrating such a milestone birthday surrounded by our children and grandchildren made the trip even more special, and we honestly couldn’t have chosen a better place. Thank you to every single person who looked after our family and helped make my husband’s 70th birthday so memorable. We will never forget our time here. 💖

I can honestly say the Zilwa Attitude is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It manages to deliver a rare combination of relaxed family-friendliness, authentic Mauritian character, thoughtful eco-conscious design and luxury without feeling stuffy or overly formal. The very first view as you walk into the hotel is absolutely breathtaking... It sets the tone, lets you know you’ve arrived somewhere truly special. The thoughtful, humble, yet stylish room design impressed me. They feature smooth polished concrete floors, open showers, and dual front-and-back entrances that open right out onto the lush, tropical grounds. They feel natural, and seamlessly connected to the surrounding environment. The absolute crowning achievement of Zilwa Attitude is its staff. From the moment we arrived, the level of hospitality was beyond 5-star. The interdepartmental communication behind the scenes was phenomenal. Every manager knew us and worked seamlessly together. We were visiting as a family to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, and they took every opportunity to spoil us and make it extra special. I want to give a special mention to the entire Zilwa Attitude team, with personal thanks to: Jovany... for his jovial welcoming spirit. Nitish, Vick, Mohan, Zalfah, Maanish, and Vishwesh: for their top-class warmth and hospitality. Kevin and Kristel for our entertainment throughout our stay. And of course, The housekeeping & cleaning staff: who put together a special "Happy 20th Anniversary" display in our room that blew us away. Perfection is an unrealistic expectation, what matters is how a resort reacts when small issues arise. This is where the team truly excelled. Any minor problem was met with prompt action, genuine care, and overly generous compensation. They turn small hiccups into opportunities to show how much they care about your experience. The tropical location & private Island is stunning. The resort is expertly laid out and surrounded by mature, rich tropical plants. It was the primary reason we chose this resort, and it exceeded expectations. Having access to Gran Zil; Their private island is an incredible differentiator. A 15-person raft runs every 30 minutes to a secluded piece of paradise. You can wade between tiny islets, lounge on hammocks or sunbeds protected from the sun and any wind, or indulge in a fresh BBQ prepared right on the island. It easily rivals famous spots like Île aux Cerfs. The resort embraces its local heritage with traditional Sega music and local dishes available at the buffet, restaurants and BBQs . Make sure to try the high-quality local cuisine at the 'Kot Nou' restaurant, it’s excellent. Crucially, their commitment to sustainability is woven into daily operations; using reusable glass bottles, glass yogurt pots, and eliminating single-use plastic/paper sachets for coffee and sugar. A detail we all appreciated and hope other hotels adopt. I don't want to overhype the Zilwa Attitude and raise unreasonable expectations, but if you appreciate authentic charm, beautiful nature, and world-class human warmth, Zilwa Attitude hits the absolute sweet spot. Thanks to the whole team for making our stay extra special. We cherished every minute and would love to return.

I visited Zilwa Attitude hotel with my family in September and I had such a magical experience. The grounds of the hotel are stunning with palm trees everywhere and a very outdoors feel. Our family room was on the ground level giving us access to a lovely outdoor area with seating enough for 4 that didn’t feel overlooked. The staff were some of the kindest most caring people I’ve ever met. They made us feel like family from the moment we walked in. They payed very close attention to our every need, making sure that there were no issues at anytime. Everyone we met was so welcoming and genuinely seemed to care about making our stay as enjoyable as possible. Especially Jovany who always came ready with a joke and a smile on his face. Nitish was dedicated to making our stay meet the highest standards. Chef Rishi made food to die for filled with love and a local style. Juana was full of life, an absolute pleasure to interact with and always cheerful. The hotel gives you a true taste of Mauritian life especially when dining at their Mauritian restaurant Kot Nou, which I highly recommend. The bar Siro Kann was very lively and had entertainment to enjoy every night. There was never a moment of boredom during my stay. I was able to enjoy watersports, visit their island, participate in planned activities for all ages throughout the day and even relax outside with all the lovely views. To truly get the most out of your stay I recommend enjoying everything they have to offer and using all the facilities. I highly recommend the glass bottom boat, kayaking, yoga, tai chi, and visiting the spa and gym. I truly felt connected to this hotel and found myself not wanting to leave. I am definitely ready to go back 😊
