Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an

I am here now From Oct24th - Nov3rd, the hotel is nice the staff for the most part are very nice and helpfull, food seems be ok to very good depending on were you eat. I have had one fairly annoying night, Went to bed woke up early in the morning to use the bathroom found the floor covered in Water that was leaking from the ceilng light above me and driping down on my head. Not great! I did contact the front desk and they did send someone up to fix the issue. These things happen some times, Cant fault the staff. They do there best. I have been to the Coba property once before and I did enjoy my stay. Thought this time I would try the Sian Ka'an. Would I return Yes I think so.

This place has absolutely zero customer service ,they dont care about you. They rarely communicate at all , they have taken away almost all the privileges for staying in the adult only Sian Kaan, and given them to other parts of the hotel that are not branded Luxury, so you pay extra for others to receive your benefits .The hotel also sells itself as 24hr all inclusive and this is an absolute outrageous lie.

We returned last week from our 11th holiday at Sian Ka'an and overall we had a great time. As many guests mention, it is the staff who make your time at the hotel special. The rooms are tired, the food and drink options are not as extensive as in previous visits, but the staff are consistently friendly, welcoming and efficient. We cannot thank everyone by name but we feel that we can't write a review without mentioning the following people for their stand-out positive impact on our holiday experience: Francisco and his team on Reception. Armando and Enrique in Guest Services. Edgar, Rocque (both of them) and Silverio in Alux/Maiko. Giovanni, Randy and Carlos at the lobby bar. Lucero, Lorena, Gabriella, Deysi, Zeidy and Martha serving in the lobby. Antonio, Ricardo, Marco and Melissa serving around the pools. Daniel and his fabulous team in the buffet - especially Faustino, Suemi, Antonio, Manuel and Eglady. Whilst we had a great holiday, we are seriously considering whether we will return to Sian Ka'an next year as there are major changes planned, starting in November, which are deal breakers for us - the reduction of A La Carte restaurant reservations to 3 per week and the removal of international brand drinks. Other smaller reductions in services/options are noticeable already but these two major changes are not acceptable to us. We can only hope that the management at Sian Ka'an will reconsider these planned reductions to ensure the ongoing loyalty of the many guests who return year after year.

The hotel is OK. Staff are great. Food was more than adequate. But… I like my Sports, it advertises a 24 hour Sports bar - No such thing (Please see phot attached) It opens at 10:00 shuts at 22:00 - On the dot. It also advertises 5 bars? We were there two weeks and found one bar by the swimming pool which shuts at 18:00. The other two ‘bars’ are Resturants, one does stay open until 01:00. We had a leak in our room, bed was soaked. Things like this happen I understand. We packed our kit - Reception gave us another room for the night to sleep in promising us another Jacuzzi suite which we paid an extra £500 for would be ready by midday would be ready with our luggage in it. Come 16:00 I gave up and moved it myself my Missus wanted to get changed and shower. New room was fine. Smoking rules are draconian in Mexico, busiest table was the smoking area in the jungle, fine if you want to get eaten alive my the Mossies. The evening entertainment was really good, especially the Rock Band. The booze was premium brand but they often ran out. The Casino is NOT onsite, the other hotels are at least 3 miles away by golf cart. Would we go back? No, but in fairness we travel a lot and rarely go back to the same Country leave alone same hotel. Our TUI Rep Melanie was great, apparently 15 Junior Penthouse Suites got flooded that night, bless her she had her work cut out. There are also lots of extremely loud, drunk obnoxious Yanks there, their total vocabulary is USA at the top of their voices all night. That’s my honest review. Chris & Sharon. London. We had a great experience. Beginning with Francisco at guest services, we experienced a smooth fast check in. The room was very well appointed and within close proximity to all the activities we were interested in. The food, whether at the buffet was always quite good, fresh, and plentiful. The staff was always very attentive. I would like to give a shout out to Daniel, Ana, Miriam, Antonio, and Susan in the buffet. The barkeepers Jhovanne, Randy, Carlos and Jorge as well as Antonio the bar manager, Claudia in the Cenote bar, Eldrik at the front desk and last but not least Aurora the resort director for pulling it all together.
