Riu Palace Las Americas

Beautiful location and a fab hotel couldn’t fault it. The staff are amazing except one particular waitress who was very rude. Then the couple on the next table had the same experience with her.

Helen and I stayed at Hotel Riu Palace Las Americas in Cancun in May 2025, and I can genuinely say it was easily the best holiday I’ve ever been on. I really can’t fault this hotel. The food was excellent throughout our stay. There are five à la carte restaurants and we really enjoyed trying the different ones, but the steakhouse deserves a special mention — absolutely brilliant and probably our favourite. The pool bar was excellent and a great place to spend the day with a drink. The whole hotel had a really chilled, relaxed atmosphere, helped by the fact that it’s adults-only, so there were no children running around. Our room was great too. Having alcohol optics actually in the room was a nice touch, along with a stocked fridge, and there was an ice machine just down the hall. The only real negative was our view. Our room basically overlooked a maintenance/service area of the hotel, which wasn’t exactly the Caribbean view you hope for! That said, it was such a small downside compared with how good everything else was. The hotel has a fantastic beach right outside, and the location in Cancun’s Hotel Zone is excellent. You’re right in the heart of the area, so it’s easy to get out and enjoy Cancun as well as spending time at the resort. Another big advantage of staying with Riu is being able to use facilities at some of the other Riu hotels nearby. We visited the club/disco at one of the other hotels, which had different themed nights and even a foam party. It gave us something different to do in the evenings without losing the convenience of an all-inclusive resort. Between the food, drinks, beach, nightlife, adults-only atmosphere, location and standard of the hotel, the whole holiday was amazing. The staff and facilities made it somewhere we could properly relax during the day but still have plenty to do when we wanted a livelier night. Apart from the view from our room, I honestly can’t think of anything I’d change. An absolutely fantastic hotel and an incredible holiday. Without question, I’d go back.

My daughter and I stayed here for two weeks at the end of August/sep. I had read up on the hotel and done my research so I knew what to expect. The room was large and clean . We kept the air on on high day and night and this helped keep the moisture levels down. Some hidden gems regarding food, (Steak and lamb chops in the Italian, Excellent) Buffet, good and varied. We loved the Cappucino cafe , especially the yummy cakes on offer in the afternoon! The beach was absolutely mesmerising and after a summer of terrible sargassum in Mexico I was relieved that it was crystal clear. Every staff member that i encountered was helpful and friendly . We felt safe walking around the area outside of the hotel and liked the location. I feel that this hotel truly has something for everyone , you can be loud and party or find yourself a quiet little spot in which to relax and have some down time We met people from all age ranges and backgrounds and it was a really fabulous vacation I would definitely recommend and return to this hotel. Overall this is a lovely clean hotel, the food and drink excellent especially in the restaurants, the only real problem here is that the resort is not disabled friendly, the rooms are if you get a disabled room but the hotel grounds are not, we were confined to the one pool most of our time there as the beach was not accessible or the other pools, there was a ramp so far down to the beach but then you were stuck as no way through to the loungers, other than these issues we came across we had no other problems here. We had a lovely holiday and met some really nice people Denise and Chris x
