What makes this resort extraordinary is not just its beautiful surroundings, spectacular food, or wonderful amenities, but above all, its incredible people. Every single staff member we encountered was genuinely kind, respectful, attentive, and always willing to go above and beyond to make us feel welcome and appreciated. Even though the resort is currently undergoing renovations, the staff does such an outstanding job that it never takes away from the experience. Their professionalism, dedication, and commitment to guest satisfaction are truly remarkable. They always find a way to make everything feel special. The food and beverage experience was absolutely spectacular! The food's quality, presentation, and variety were outstanding. Every restaurant offered something wonderful, but what made each dining experience exceptional was the warmth and dedication of the people serving us. There are so many wonderful individuals to recognize that I’m afraid I might forget someone! A heartfelt thank you to Roberto de la O and Lucio at the buffet, Roberto at the pool restaurant, Liceth at Coco Café, and Carmen at the lobby bar. Your kindness, attentiveness, and exceptional service made every interaction a pleasure. Pablo at the French restaurant deserves very special recognition. What an extraordinary gentleman! His professionalism, dedication, and genuine passion for hospitality are truly admirable. People like him are what make a resort stand out. Our wonderful concierges, Erika, Gaby, and Luis, were incredibly helpful, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. Thank you for always making us feel so well cared for. We also had a wonderful experience at the spa, and I would love to recognize Liceth and Cecilia for their kindness, professionalism, and excellent service. They were both incredibly attentive and made our spa experience relaxing and enjoyable. And now, the most meaningful and unforgettable part of our entire stay… ❤️💍 My partner planned a surprise marriage proposal during our vacation, with Fabiola's help arranging a beautiful, intimate dinner at the Italian restaurant. Words cannot fully express how grateful we are to Fabiola, Veronica, and Ana for the extraordinary dedication, genuine kindness, and love they put into making this moment so incredibly special. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, and their excitement and commitment to creating a magical evening felt completely genuine. The chef also deserves heartfelt recognition. His dedication went far beyond preparing an incredible dinner. He took the initiative to add his own thoughtful touches, showing genuine enthusiasm, creativity, and a personal commitment to making our special occasion unforgettable. What touched us most was that none of it felt like something they were simply required to do. Their happiness, sincerity, and desire to make everything perfect came naturally and from the heart. That kind of hospitality cannot be taught. It comes from genuinely caring about people. If you want exceptional service along with a beautifully constructed resort, this is it! We didn’t want for a single thing, never had service like this! Well kept facility, smiling faces, and a beautiful beach…what more do you need?

This was our 20th trip to SMB and certainly one of our most memorable. We visited with three other couples. As always we were warmly greeted the moment we arrived. We were booked in a Preferred Club Honeymoon suite. As there were 4 couples, all preferred, they allowed us to sit and enjoy a drink in the lobby and brought all the paperwork to us. We politely declined the VIP presentation. We received our coupon book. It was quick and easy. We had requested building 27 and that is where we were placed. Our concierge was Marcelo. He was fabulous and made sure we had everything we requested during our stay. He sent daily messages with all of the activities. My husband is a Dr Pepper lite drinker and he made sure he had some throughout our stay. Our housekeeper, Noemi kept our room spotless. Adrian kept us well stocked in the mini bar and with snacks. We purchased beach cabana’s each day. Manny, the beach concierge and one of our absolute favorites at SMB, took outstanding care of us! My birthday was on Thursday and the friends we traveled with worked with Manny and the chef for a special lunch on the beach. They went above and beyond!! Manny, the chef and several other beach staff delivered platters of steak, salmon, shrimp, octopus, veggies, guacamole and chips for our group with a cheerful rendition of “Happy Birthday “! A while later they came back with a fabulous cake! Each day Manny prepared our cabana, stocked us with a bucket of icy cold water, brought us cold towels and cleaned our sunglasses. He took time to visit with us a bit each day. He is an absolute treasure to SMB! Manuel made sure we had drinks and lunch each day and acted as our bartender and made us some of his special concoctions. Thanks to Mother Nature there was sargassum but they worked tirelessly to clean it up. Also, the day of my birthday, Marcelo decorated our room in festive happy birthday balloons and banners. We enjoyed, Barefoot Grill, Pizza, World Cafe, Himatsu, Bordeaux & Seaside while we were there. The food was great and the staff at each place was very attentive. We enjoyed snacks at the preferred club. It’s beautiful after the completed update. Coco cafe was great as always. We spent an afternoon at the spa for massage services. One of the booking perks was a free 50 minute massage for one of the room occupants. We upgraded to 80 minutes and added another for a couples massage. Very relaxing! I’m not sure who provided our turn down service but they showed up each evening and tidied our room and turned down the bed. Even though he wasn’t our concierge Roger checked on us to see if we needed anything. Checkout went smoothly. There are renovations going on at the resort but they were not bothersome at all. Had we not walked by them to go to meals we would not have known. Barely heard any noise at all. It was a wonderful trip and can’t wait to return!

Above and beyond our expectations. Did our Honeymoon here and felt so luxurious. From the meals to the trips, there was nothing more we could ask for. Preferred club is worth the price bump as it gets you a few more options.

Amazing resort. Beautiful food, beautiful beach. Came here as an anniversary trip with my husband. We will definitely return at some point. In our opinion we did not feel like we missed out on preferred club and we happy with the service that we got without booking the upgrade package. The only gripe we had were the spa rices as they were very high but other than that this resort is truly paradise.
