Monte Casa Spa & Wellness de Lux

Just back from a ten day stay at Monta Casa and have to say our overall experience was positive, great location for example, but we were very disappointed with our room. On arrival the hotel seemed pretty and really central with great access to the beach, harbour, restaurants and bars. Petrovac in late August-early September was bustling with a lovely atmosphere and it felt safe. The beach was really crowded though and we chose early morning swims in the warm calm sea to avoid the crowds. When we got to our room we were incredibly disappointed, it felt small, dark and dingy and there was a large terrace rather than a balcony which had stairs accessible from other room so it didn’t feel private though wasn’t over looked by other guests. There was no view other than walls which desperately needed painting, we complained but the hotel was full. We also complained to our holiday rep who came to meet us specially and we were given a token of £50 as the room couldn’t be changed. The hotel doesn’t feel luxury - it felt tatty, with peeling paint and some missing tiles in both pools. The photos on the website are old and there is only one scruffy palm tree by the pool, not the three seen in the photos. The spa facilities are okay, steam room, sauna, in door pool are a bonus and my friend had a fabulous massage which she said was good value for money. The pools are cold but you adjust in the heat, there is no issue with subbeds as the pool area was empty most mornings. There’s no bar or snacks but you can, if you can find a member of staff order drinks to be brought down. There was nothing in the fridge - though the water is safe to drink and tastes fine, it is expensive to buy from the hotel though cheap in shops and we just filled bottles from the tap and cooled. The restaurant was pleasant, the food was average but there was very little atmosphere. In fact there was very little atmosphere in the hotel, staff didn’t greet us with an hello or smile. Other guests weren’t very friendly and some guests were very loud. Would I recommend or go back - not really, although the location was really good and the restaurants in Petrovac are lovely. We had a great holiday and got out and about but I definitely would not recommend room 411.

Beautiful location, atmosphere, very nice room for a convenient price, very good breakfast, big swimming pools indoor and outdoor, no noise at all, reception staff very kind and helpful. Everything very very good, Jacopo and Alice from Florence, Italy

Rooms with sea view are nice and also the pool with parasols. And location is perfect - 50 meters to ocean and nice restaurants. But - we think the description on the websites are not what you get and therefore we were very disappointed. The breakfast buffet is big - but not very delicious. It was the same all 4 mornings, the milk/yoghurt was warm and the food was not presented in a nice way. The dinner buffet was even worse if you arrived shortly after it was opened - and we ended up eating elsewhere even though we had it for free. It was not even close to what was showed at the websites. The fitness room was big but not well-maintained. The people in the reception were nice and tried their best - and the overdosed promotion of the hotel is of course out oft their hands. The hotel is overpriced snd oversold, and we would go for another hotel another time.

I have visited that hotel second time. The hotel is great. All working people there are very nice and helpful. The area is amazing. It is very good for people with small children. Everything is near. I love that place.

Our room was clean and had a beautiful view of the ocean. Breakfast was vast but nothing was cooled and after sitting out in 35 degree heat for several hours every morning, it was not food safe. Nothing was covered and many guests were coughing and sneezing and using their hands to pick up food. The sauna and steam room needed a deep clean but the pools were lovely and a good temperature. Hot water in the rooms did not work and showers/baths were lukewarm at best. Beds were comfortable and parking was easy. Overall a decent hotel but this is not a luxury hotel by any means.
