Caloura Hotel Resort

Unfortunately, breakfast fell short: we frequently had to wait for a table, and the same limited menu was served every day. On top of that, the sauna we’d reserved wasn’t heated properly — it was still at 30°C because staff forgot to switch it on beforehand

Stayed for 4 nights in June 2026. Really nice hotel. Great room and all the staff were excellent and helpful. Guests lovely too. Will remember Betty in particular who we loved chatting to about how she’d been taken up the main path and the back door to the Azores all day. Thank you to all the wonderful staff.

With a fabolous setting this is a winner. Very efficient and friendly reception and top notch hygiene. Spacious public area and decent rooms with knock-out views. The breakfast is modest, but fine. We enjoyed eve

There are many positives to highlight about this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location is excellent—but a car is a must. The setting is truly beautiful, with stunning ocean views. Falling asleep to the sound of Atlantic waves was incredibly peaceful. However, the most disappointing aspect of our stay was the dining experience. We arrived late on our first night and chose to dine at the hotel rather than venture out in the dark after checking in. We weren’t aware it was a buffet until after we were seated, but decided to stay. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a poor decision. For 30 Euros, the selection was minimal and the food quality resembled cafeteria fare. They ran out of chocolate cake early and didn’t bother to restock it. The staff seemed impatient and disengaged, as if they didn’t want to be there. Overall, it felt overpriced. Breakfast wasn’t much better. The variety was limited, and we kept wondering if there was another section we were missing. On our final morning, the coffee machine broke down and was never repaired. While the dining experience detracted from the overall impression, we still enjoyed our stay and appreciated the hotel’s many positives.
