Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda

Just returned from this hotel following a well earned break to celebrate the wife's birthday and our wedding anniversary. First impressions were ok, nice room poor quality bathroom and whirlpool bath inop due to the plug being broken. Breakfast ok(nothing special) lunch and dinner at the buffet poor. The first a le carte we attended we walked out of because of the lack of staff interest of looking after us as the customer, after all we do pay there wages. The Mexican was good service but quality of food as was the Italian. My favorite was the Asian the wife enjoyed the steak house. The sports bar was good too as we're the serving staff. We found at the hotel the customer service was varied, some staff were very friendly others seemed like it was too much trouble to talk. We have stayed at the Bahia principe in Mexico (Akumel) and the staff are much friendlier and professional. Another note to mention we noticed on arrival that people were offered a welcome drink something unfortunately we weren't? Just for clarity the hotel gets very busy on a weekend as the hotel invites the locals to use the facilities on a day pass. Most of the parents get tanked up on cheap alcohol while their kids cause havoc. In our opinion I would save your money and go somewhere else within the DR.

A special mention for Alexis & Alberto ❤️ We’ve just come home after a lovely fortnight at Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda and really wanted to mention two people who made our holiday extra special. Alexis, our pool waiter, was fantastic. He always seemed to know when our drinks were getting low and, by the second week, was bringing the next ones before we even asked! 😂 Such a lovely, friendly guy. Alberto at the Amana Wet Bar was equally brilliant — so attentive and always smiling. And he made the best Bloody Marys, exactly how I liked them! 🍹 By the end of the fortnight, they both felt more like friends than staff. They really did make our holiday and we’ll miss seeing them both. Thank you, Alexis & Alberto — you were the best! ❤️

Esmeralda 18/9 to 2/10/2026 It was an interesting 2 weeks going from fantastic to the opposite! Amazing staff who looked after us (21) Alexis- around the pool, attentive when ever we were by the pool, remembering what we all drank & always smiling. Thank you Enmanuell & Emlmerlin - buffet, both so lovely, kind, always felt relaxed when they were on duty . Enmanuell was brilliant with the children. Thank you. An Extraordinary Solo Stay at Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda I traveled solo for leisure to Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda in Punta Cana, and my stay was a beautiful, relaxing, and truly memorable experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed by the friendly atmosphere, attentive staff, and well-maintained surroundings. The resort is conveniently located approximately 30 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport. It is also close to popular attractions and activities, including Coco Bongo, restaurants, downtown Punta Cana, and a variety of excursions. The resort’s location made it easy to enjoy both the property and everything the surrounding area has to offer. Room and Comfort My room was exceptionally clean, with five-star housekeeping standards. The bed was comfortable, and the room was centrally located near the resort’s services and amenities. This made it convenient to reach the restaurants, pools, entertainment, sports bar, coffee shop, and other facilities. The resort and its common areas were consistently clean, organized, and well maintained. I also appreciated the peaceful and comfortable atmosphere, which allowed me to relax and enjoy my vacation at my own pace. Service and Amenities The pools and shared areas were clean and always well kept. The buffet provided a good variety of food, and the entire team—from the kitchen and serving staff to the cleaning staff and hostess—worked hard to maintain a welcoming dining environment. The Entertainment team helped create a fun and lively atmosphere, which was especially enjoyable as a solo traveler. I would like to recognize King Kong and the entire Entertainment team for their energy, friendliness, and dedication to making guests feel included. I also want to give special thanks to Alberto, Tania, Abesaid, Edwin, Andres, and Elena for their attentive service. My appreciation also goes to Yulis and all the reception staff for their professionalism, helpfulness, and excellent customer service. At the buffet, thank you to Miguel, Jose, and everyone from the kitchen, cleaning, serving, and hostess teams. Your hard work contributed greatly to my positive dining experience. I am also grateful to Marie, Manuel, Lucia, and the entire Butler and Housekeeping team, as well as everyone I personally had the opportunity to thank during my stay. Your care and attention were sincerely appreciated. At the Sports Bar and Coffee Shop, Rosa, Claudia, Viena, Roberto, Yakaris, Victor, Juan, Carlos, and the entire team were friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Their excellent service made these areas enjoyable places to relax and spend time. To make this vacation even more unforgettable, I had the incredible opportunity to attend a spectacular concert at Bahia Principe featuring the legendary Mexican singer Alejandro Fernández. He delivered an extraordinary performance filled with passion, energy, and unforgettable music. It was truly the perfect highlight to an already amazing stay and made my experience at Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda even more special. Overall Impression As a solo leisure traveler, I felt comfortable, welcomed, and well cared for throughout my stay. My experience was overwhelmingly positive, and the dedication of the staff was one of the highlights of my vacation. Every guest may have different personal preferences, but I found Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda to be clean, convenient, organized, and filled with thoughtful service. I left with wonderful memories and genuine appreciation for everyone who helped make my stay special. Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda was an extraordinary choice for my Punta Cana getaway. I would gladly return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxing, and enjoyable Caribbean vacation.
