Dreams Flora Resort & Spa

We had a wonderful ten-night holiday here with our two-year-old son. The staff were amazing with him and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it as a family friendly resort to other parents. The standout feature of this hotel is the food. Usually the food in an all-inclusive restaurant can get a bit repetitive after a while, but not here! Even the buffet seemed to offer new things each day. The cocktails were also very good quality. We’ve often experienced watered-down cocktails on other holidays but not here. They were all well made and delicious, probably a bit too nice! All restaurants had food suitable for children in them. There was a separate area for the children’s food in the buffet restaurant, at a low level, so they could with help pick their own food. All the à la carte restaurants offered a children’s menu with options including pasta, chicken nuggets, which was very helpful. The only food we didn’t enjoy was at the Barefoot Grill. They serve burgers and hot dogs by the beach. All the food was a bit dry and tasteless. The staff also didn’t seem as efficient or pleasant as in other areas of the resort. The grounds of the resort were immaculately kept. Everywhere you went you were surrounded by palm trees, flowers and water features. You couldn’t help but feel relaxed walking around the resort. There were plenty of lifts and lots of flat pathways, which made it easy to navigate the resort with a pram. There are several swimming pools, including a separate children’s one with slides. We spent most of our time at the family preferred pool, which is based right by the beach. We enjoyed the swim-up bar and they happily made mocktails for our son. He told us that swimming and the drinks were his favourite parts of the holiday. We upgraded to preferred club, which we enjoyed. Our butler Isaias was excellent, very helpful and brilliant with our son. We enjoyed the preferred lounge which served a good array of premium spirits and food. The staff are all incredibly helpful, cheerful and pleasant to be around. They are a credit to the resort and work incredibly hard. We booked a helicopter tour independently with a company called Runners Adventures. We would highly recommend this, one of the highlights of our trip!

We stayed in a garden view room but upgraded our service to the preferred. We stayed for 5 days and it was great. The food, drinks and service were always good. The whole resort itself is beautiful. It was nice to have staff remember your drinks day after day. The beach water wasn't the greatest due to the season but the staff kept the beach clear of sargassam daily.Otherwise the h beach itself is beautiful.

This was our first visit to the Dominican Republic. The hotel was of a very good standard with all communal areas kept in a very clean and tidy condition. Our suite was cleaned/made up every time we wanted it to be done, the suite was of a good size and equipped very well. Every member of staff we encountered was helpful and could not do enough to ensure that we had all that we needed. For a hotel the evening entertainment was varied and of a pretty good standard, the entertainment team worked tirelessly to provide a good time for all. Drinks were of a good standard, where you had the choice of local and branded varieties. I cannot remember a time when I had any significant wait to be served, with this in mind I would like to give a big shout out to JORGE, FELIX, JEAN CARLOS and in particular JOHAN from the rendezvous bar. All of whom played a big part in making our holiday so memorable. With regard to food, in the whole this was of a very good standard with the Buffet Restaurant serving a wide variety of food at all meal times (if you could not find something to eat there you are probably to fussy). The French restaurant in our opinion was the best, followed by the Italian then the Asian. Unfortunately the Seaside Grill fell short, my potato wedges were cold, steak was dry and overcooked (a medium rare steak was requested) and the base to my baked alaska was inedible. The Barefoot Grill on the beach had some serious hygiene issues, we witnessed birds fly down onto the pizza preparation area and walk all over and eat the ingredients and the dough that was prepared for making the pizza's, (we decided to give it a miss) As many have allured to there is an amount of seaweed in the water, but the beach was relatively clear of it, so major issue to us. In addition there was some piling works going on in water close to the beach, whilst unsightly it did not cause any serious noise issue.

Danyer Martinez was the best! He made our anniversary trip excellent and unforgettable. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Be sure to ask for him when you visit—you will feel right at home. The customer service at the hotel is excellent. The staff genuinely cares about your well-being and goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay. They park your vehicle for you, take your luggage to your room, and also pick it up when you’re ready to leave. They are always attentive and available whenever you need anything, which makes the whole experience so much more comfortable and relaxing. They also make the best cake in the world! 🍰 There are entertaining shows every night, plenty of activities, and a beautiful, quiet pool where you can relax, unwind, and enjoy some peaceful time. Overall, I had a wonderful experience. The staff truly makes the stay special, and I would definitely come back again.

A family of 4 traveling from the UK for 2 weeks end of August, first time in Caribbean and not sure what to expect, as soon as we arrived we felt the wow factor, bell boy takes our luggage to the room as we’ve been given wet towels to wipe the sweat off our face with the humidity. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, they even said ‘welcome home’ and it certainly felt that way! Marlyn followed by Steysi were simply fantastic on concierge, nothing was too much trouble and they were in touch with us every single day. We were not preferred and we definitely didn’t need it as we did not feel like we missed out on anything. The whole resort was stunning, so clean and the greenery and scenery made it feel special to be here, relax and enjoy the island, we even enjoyed going for long beach walks to the right and leaving the resort, just beautiful! Breakfast was amazing, so much to choose from every single day and lunch was great too, varieties of salads, steak, lots of chicken dishes and various breads and toppings to make your own subs, delicious! And that’s not even mentioning the burger bar down by the beach and its varieties! We only ate in the buffet twice out of the 14 evenings we were there as the restaurants and quality of food was the best we’ve ever had in an AI hotel. Italian was our fave, seafood risotto and the short beef rib were delicious and Willy the waiter and Maitree d Marie were great, nothing too much trouble and they made us enjoy the experience so much more, thanks guys! My son was not keen on the desserts on offer, his fave was the Nutella Cake at the steakhouse, without even asking Willy went across to the restaurant and brought him one back, simply amazing! The Adult French is a must too, lovely starters and we recommend the duck and lamb shank and if you ask nicely you can book a table at the back of the buffet and enjoy the French experience with your children. The kids fave was Tepanyaki, so sorry I can’t remember the names as they deserve recognition, the maitree d, the cocktail waitress and the chef that interacted with the children, flicking food in their mouth and making it a great experience, so much so we returned 3 more times! The entertainment at night was ok at best, (if this was better we would certainly be returning next year!) the entertainment team were so much better, Skinny Legs with his rapid dancing, yeimi 911 with his interaction with the kids and games played and Oscarina with her beautiful smile and different wigs every day always getting us up to dance. Just the perfect trio! Our fave night was the silent disco, it’s a must if you are there, so much fun singing and dancing and interacting with all different nationalities made a great experience, thanks to Denny, Carlos and Jeancarlos keeping us topped up at the Lobby Bar, remember guys tips go along way and they are really worth it, everyone works so hard for us to have the best time. Saona Island is a must if you’ve never been before or may not return, a long day but it has to been seen to be believed, just a beautiful experience, plenty of different packages to suit your finances but you will enjoy it! We also loved the beach bar with the games, the music, the BBQs and smiley staff making great cocktails, we just felt spoilt for choice with the swim up bars, waterpark, afternoon singers by the pool. Pleasant surprises every single day meant the children made friends, we made friends, the staff became friends and we will certainly be returning to a Dreams resort in DR next year. $30 in a 20 min taxi ride from the airport is well worth it to beat the queues.
