Dreams Onyx Resort & Spa

The atmosphere was exactly what I needed! Relaxing and having fun at the same time. I felt like I was living out the movie Dirty Dancing in real life. This really is a place where dreams do come true. Thank you for such an amazing and relaxing time!

We had an amazing experience at Dreams Onyx! The food was delicious, with plenty of options to choose from, and everything was fresh and well prepared. The service was definitely one of the highlights of our stay. Everyone was so friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which made us feel very comfortable and well taken care of. We also want to give a special mention to our friend Pineapple, who made our experience even more enjoyable with their kindness and great service!

Simon was an amazing bartender! The drinks were great, but his customer service was what really stood out. He was always friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome every time we came to the bar. He definitely helped make our stay at Dreams Onyx even better. If you’re there, make sure you stop by and see Simon and the Barefoot Grill!

**Another Great Stay at Dreams Onyx – Amazing Staff!** We originally had plans to visit another Dreams resort, but a last-minute flight cancellation completely changed our plans. Fortunately, we were able to return to Dreams Onyx, where we had stayed just four months earlier—and once again, we were not disappointed. We stayed August 8–13, and the resort was just as beautiful as we remembered. The food was good, the property was beautiful, and overall we had another great experience. What really makes Dreams Onyx special, though, is the staff. We had several employees who went above and beyond and honestly helped make the entire trip memorable. Our butler, **Zorro**, was absolutely amazing. He took care of everything we needed and made us feel genuinely taken care of. **Alejandro** at the bar was another standout. His service, personality, and attention to us made every visit enjoyable. **Angel** with the poolside towel service was fantastic and always made us feel welcome. And **Jinsey**, our waiter, was exceptional. His service and personality really stood out, and he helped make the trip what it was. We did have a couple of minor mechanical issues with our room. Nothing major, but what impressed us was how hard the resort staff worked to get them resolved. They were responsive and genuinely seemed to care about getting things fixed rather than simply brushing the issues off. The ocean was pretty rough during our stay, so the beach conditions weren't ideal, but obviously that's something the resort can't control. After staying here twice within four months, I think that says a lot about how we feel about Dreams Onyx. Resorts are nice, but it's the people who make you want to come back—and **Zorro, Alejandro, Angel, and Jinsey absolutely made this trip for us.** We would definitely return to Dreams Onyx and would recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful resort with outstanding staff and service.

It was a Mother daughter week. We booked a preferred package with 2 beds but upgraded when checking in to a ground floor king bed swim up. It cost $670 usd extra. We found out the 3rd floor rooms have no shade on the balcony.. a must with the temperature and weather in September. . The beach was unfortunately full of seaweed and not swim able. They only have palm trees for shade. Other dreams have cabanas or umbrellas. This became a non issue though since we upgraded to a swim up patio room. I did not have to find shade or a lounger just open my patio door. I highly recommend this room upgrade. The preferred has a huge shaded adult only pool area and bar but we never went there. You also have access to breathless and the lazy river. We went everyday to float along and swim in front of the huge jumbotron. This was the highlight of the trip. Temperatures were 40 with the humidity so being in the water was a must. The resort has wear and tear. It’s looking a bit tired. The pool tiles need bleach and a good scrub. The tepanyakki restaurant tables show in the corners some dirt and black mold. Our toilet leaked and the bed is on a wood platform that was not the most comfortable. I would say this resort is a 4* but the food was a 5*. We really enjoyed the steak at breathless and the French at Dreams. Overall it was a great week. King Kong and Pork chop always came around encouraging you to participate. They worked hard. The fire show and karaoke were my favourite nights for entertainment. The ladies in the 24 hour coffee shop were exceptional. Always friendly and kind. The preferred check in / out the staff was ok. We never saw our butler. He did book our massage for us but not even a goodbye or we can get your bags at check out. Other butlers came around to the patio to check up on them. I gave tips to the main pool bartenders who were great ( Carmelo and Webster ?) tips to the ladies at the coffee shop , tips for the tepanyaki and a few dollars to the preferred morning staff in the designated restaurant. The maid and in room bar service staff were good and also deserved extra tips. Overall a decent hotel and a fun week. I would suggest some maintenance is needed , maybe new beds, add some beach cabanas and improve the preferred lobby and this would be a 5* hotel
