Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort and Aqua Games

Was a little nervous after reading some of the reviews but I can honestly say I’ve had an incredible time! There’s always a good sunbed and I found the pool to be as clean as it can be and nice and warm, drinks are great with so many options I love the frozen lemonades and mojitos! The resort seems to come to life at 8am and out music coming on and something to do/somewhere to drink until the early hours but nothing that we could hear from our room which was nice. As far as buffet goes the food is great (though I’d recommend coming earlier to eat as it can get busy as one Buffet is under referb during my visit) and the restaurants are all great though do get booked up fast! So much to do activity wise from pool and beach competitions and getting the guests up on stage on an evening and I really like that they give the winners little souvenirs! The activity team are incredible and are so good at bringing the good vibes and really go the extra mile! Bombom is amazing from the first day he made the effort to learn my name, cheered me on during the activities and made our stay so much better! If you’re looking for faults you’ll find them but nothing that would ruin your stay and I feel it is well worth what I’ve paid. Our room has a couple of chips and marks but I’ve seen the staff working hard painting various parts of the resort during my stay. Some of the staff seem to dislike us possibly due to us being English and give other guests better treatment but with a tip this normally smoothed over issues. There was what looks like wiring hanging out some drains in the pool but they’re clearly not electric/live or I wouldn’t be here. It is a ginormous resort plenty to do and all looks very clean with staff litter picking and cleaning all the time. All very accessible for people with disabilities, there are ramps everywhere, level access, sloped pool access and even a beach wheelchair to allow people to access the beach and ocean which I’ve not seen before at other resorts. I wish there was ice cream closer to the pool as the ice cream shop is pretty far away from the pool and beach. As a group of solo females we felt safe and enjoyed our stay.

What a amazing hotel on arrival you are greeted with a welcome drink then on to check in where we had the pleasure off meeting Robeltico who showed us to are rooms pointing things out on the way and was always on hand by WhatsApp all the staff are amazing and very friendly hotel has everything you need look forward to getting back

Just got back from 10 nights here and I would not return - in seaweed season. This is not the hotels fault, it’s absolutely relentless and we knew this before we went but we didn’t realise the extent of how much seaweed there was meaning any sea swimming or snorkelling near the hotel was pretty much a no go. So bar a couple of trips we spent every day by the pool. We set our expectations relatively low in regards to this hotel being a 5* off the back of other reviews. The grounds are simply stunning and unbelievably well looked after. When we initially got to our room there was a real musty smell and felt like it had not been used for a while. There was small signs of mould and dirt but everything worked and the air conditioning was great. Rooms were cleaned daily and towels replaced so no issues there. Sink wouldn’t drain properly and that was fixed within hours. Concierge will grab you when you arrive and try to get you to go to a VIP breakfast to try to sell you an upgrade. They keep you for a few hours and if it’s something you’re absolutely not interested in do not waste your time. It’s an average breakfast regardless of how they pitch it. Tours - BOOK THEM BEFORE YOU GO! You will get ripped off by the tour team who hound you constantly as they are located around the pool. We paid £120 for 2 of us to go on a snorkelling trip and to see the dolphins and it was absolutely awful! Dolphins are enclosed and we stopped there for 2 minutes and didn’t see anything. Snorkelling was about 20 minutes in a bang average part of the water. DO however got to Saona Island . Absolutely stunning place. Food was ok. À la cartes were of good standard aside from the Italian which was pretty tasteless. Book them when you get there with your concierge. Lots of drinks choices you can get pretty much anything. Overall we had an amazing holiday and would absolutely return… but outside of seaweed season.
