HM Alma de Bayahibe

We enjoyed our trip here! we decided to take a last minute trip! For context we travel a lot this is about our 40th trip. we came in with lower food expectations and were pleasantly surprised by the food choices. there is a beach close by and they shuttle you for free so if you want beach front this isn't the place. the swimming off the resort is beautiful and a lot of people took advantage of swimming and snorkelling. The staff overall were very nice and helpful. The alcohol is your standard presidente which is understandable but the alcohol is not the greatest . it's all brands that you have probably never heard of unless you're willing to pay $7 usd for a shot of it added to drink. the pools are in need of repair. so not the best. the rooms are clean and comfortable , we had hot water all the time and the Ac worked. one caution. if you're looking for peace and quiet in evening ask for building 1-2- we stayed in 4 and the live entertainment was quite loud at night till 11 pm. the one issue this place could fix is the doors. all they need to do is put some padding between the door and the frame so they don't slam

Not a single nice bar, the reception one is very small and not nice and the pool one is small and unattractive. The staff are rude if you compare to the standards in Europe. When I asked/complained about a couple of things these asks were left unanswered, they don’t care. The food is generally not nice with some exceptions i.e., sometimes fish is nice but the meats are very bad. The pools are rundown and the rooms, though spacious, are a bit dirty. Furniture in the rooms and bars is dirty and bad quality. Read the negative reviews here as they are matching the reality more than the positive ones.

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect after reading so many mixed reviews, but I ended up having a lovely stay. The hotel was lovely, clean and well kept. Only problem with the room was the pillows were a bit to hard for my liking. The food was good for a buffet-style resort, and I really liked that there were three on-site restaurants. I visited two of them, and both were easy to book. The American food truck was also a great option and handy when you wanted something quick. The only real downside for me was the language barrier. While many of the staff were friendly and helpful, there were times when it was difficult to communicate because not everyone spoke much English. As I was travelling solo, this affected my experience with the activities. I would have liked to join in more, but sometimes I wasn’t completely sure what was happening, what the activity involved or how to get involved. This made me feel a little hesitant and less included than I would have liked. Having more staff who could communicate in English would have made a real difference, particularly for solo travellers. Overall, though, I had a really enjoyable stay and I’m glad I went. I think it’s worth forming your own opinion rather than being put off by some of the reviews.

We had a wonderful stay at HM Alma de Bayahibe and were very satisfied with our experience. The hotel has a beautiful location, a relaxed atmosphere, and everything we needed for a great holiday. The staff were friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout our stay. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the hotel itself was well maintained. We especially enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and the opportunity to relax and enjoy the beautiful Caribbean atmosphere. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would happily come back again. We definitely recommend HM Alma de Bayahibe to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

The location was amazing, and our room had the best view! However, our AC was literally blowing ice, which was quite interesting. The staff definitely need improvement. They initially refused to let us make reservations at the Dominican and Italian restaurants on consecutive nights, and we had to argue with them before they finally agreed. The buffet was okay, but they definitely need more coffee machines. There were long lines most of the time, which was frustrating. Our favorite part of the trip was snorkeling! Unfortunately, we also felt that some staff members treated us differently because we didn’t speak Spanish. Overall, despite the issues, we had a good time and enjoyed our vacation.
