Ocean El Faro

This is my first time staying at this resort, and I’ve stayed at plenty of all-inclusive resorts over the years. I can honestly say this has been one of the worst resort experiences I’ve ever had. For an “all-inclusive” resort, there is basically nothing to eat unless you have a restaurant reservation. If you don’t book a restaurant ahead of time, you pretty much don’t eat. The only thing readily available has been cold cheeseburgers and fries, and nobody wants to eat burgers and fries for an entire vacation. The rooms are okay, but overall, I guess this is one of those situations where you get what you pay for. This was a family vacation, and I can confidently say I would never choose this resort again. If you have the budget to stay somewhere better, PLEASE do yourself a favor and book somewhere else. An all-inclusive vacation should not have you wondering where your next meal is coming from. Very disappointing experience.

My family and I stayed at Oceans El Faro for six days after booking our vacation through Expedia. I wanted to share our experience so others can make an informed decision before booking. Upon arrival, the resort made a great first impression. The check-in area is grand, beautiful, and welcoming. We were offered drinks upon arrival, which was a nice touch. Since we arrived early and our room was not yet ready, a staff member escorted us to have lunch and return later to check in. We were transported by golf cart to the main dining hall, which was convenient and appreciated. The main buffet offered a wide variety of food options. However, we quickly noticed a lack of basic table condiments, and drink service was slow. We often had to wait for our cups to be refilled or replaced. Unfortunately, the check-in process itself was frustrating. There were multiple lines, and it was unclear who was next in line. Despite having many employees at the reception desk, the process felt disorganized and took far longer than it should have. One of our biggest disappointments was the restaurant reservation system. We were told that to dine at the resort's specialty restaurants, we needed to log into the website at 7:30 a.m. to secure reservations. This quickly became a frustrating experience. By the time we logged in at 7:30, nearly every restaurant was already fully booked. We thought it might have just been bad luck and planned to try again the following day while using the main dining hall for dinner. The next day, customer service contacted us, and we explained our frustration with the reservation process. Thanks to their assistance, we were able to secure a reservation for that evening. Unfortunately, the meal was disappointing. The food was bland and lacked flavor. We later managed to get reservations at the Italian restaurant, hoping for a better experience, but once again the food was tasteless and served cold. As our stay continued, we found that the quality of the food throughout the resort was consistently poor. After several disappointing meals, we felt that making reservations was simply not worth the effort. In fact, we ended up taking an Uber ride that cost roughly $50 each way and required a 30 to 40-minute trip just to find food that we could genuinely enjoy. While the resort grounds themselves were decent and visually appealing in some areas, they were fairly average overall. The biggest issue was unquestionably the food. For an all-inclusive resort, dining is a major part of the experience, and Oceans El Faro failed to meet even basic expectations in that regard. Sadly, I cannot recommend this resort. Considering the amount of money we paid for our stay, we did not feel that it offered good value. The beautiful entrance and resort appearance could not make up for the frustrating reservation system, slow service, and consistently disappointing food. We left feeling that our money would have been much better spent elsewhere.

Its our last day at ocean el faro dominic republic, and i cant fault this hotel , the hotel is lovely , very good no complaints from us , me and my husband and family stayed at this hotel for 12 nights, the staff are so friendly, and helpfull . The food is good, there is always somthing for everyone , and i can be a bit fussy , but i always found somthing , the pool is very good , and the lazy river is great fun , we had hector, he was amazing,sorted everything out for us even trips he did a brill job , a big thank you to him, the rooms was cleaned every day , and they did a good job to , and very friendly , the hotel is big , and you got little buses to take you from a to b . They were brillient, even the drivers where funny and lovely people , i would recomend this hotel to anyone , we all had a brill time here , and could of stayed longer, who ever come to this hotel , you wont be disapointed

Ocean El Faro was the best resort for our honeymoon. Joel and Deiby were fantastic and very helpful with making our week extra helpful. The food was amazing and many different options to choose from each night. Our swim up room was so relaxing and housekeeping always made sure the room was perfect. Atmosphere was so romantic and calm. Value for our 7 day stay was accurate and we felt like we got what we paid for. Noise level was minimal. Will definitely be back!
