Ocean El Faro

My family and I loved El Faro resort. The staff were attentive and respectful. Juan Ogando was our concierge and made all arrangements smooth and efficient. My favorite part was the Lazy River. We are preferred associates and definitely recommend it if you travel often to H10 Resorts.

We arrived at the resort and found out we had been given a privalidge room . We didn't get the band but we did get the most amazing concierge/ butler. He's names( jose' Miguel jime'nez.) Remember this man's name hes amazing . We couldn't believe how bad the buffet was . Having stayed twice in ocean blue and sands we expected the same . No nothing like it . El faro may be amazing to look at but it truly lacks alot of what we had become used to in the Dominican from another chain we had been using . The waiting staff in the buffet. Well there were 2 amazing men that really tried to look after us so we made sure we looked after the them . The staff at the front of the restaurant were lovely. Such a shame it was like a work canteen . Tables without all proper cutlery. We ha to give our 2 year old grand baby a tablespoon as that's all we could find . Foods cold . 1 microwave for all those people. The ice cream stand was perfect. 2 very pricey shops but we have to remember these are not run by the hotel so I imagine the rents high . Needs a bigger or more coffee shops as lines down the path outside. Our god send jose' booked restaurants for us on some of the nights and arranged other things for us . And remember these men have a full list of people they are looking after not just us . A big thanks to jose for making our holiday so much better than we thought it was going to be on our 1st night . This hotel is beautiful. And from our experience its clean .beautiful pools everywhere its got alot going for it and id certainly go back it certain things changed and certain things were added

We arrived at the resort and were given an upgrade for which we were truly greatful for as it changed what could have been the worst holiday. Having been bumped up to privalidge gave us our god send Jose Miguel jimenez . Our concierge/ butler . This man really looked after us and our grand baby. The hotel its self is beautiful. If only the buffet restaurant had lived up to the hotel. Rooms cleaned every day . But the drinks men would often only put water .it was plain to see it wasn't getting drunk and we had a fridge full of the stuff. Had to ask for the cola etc. Yes the beach wasn't 💯 but they have. Hurricanes so you expect that and those men were working hard to get it clean every day . There are things that could change then I would consider going back . But as I said before Jose' saved our holiday

We had a great stay at the resort! We were visiting as part of the Premium Travel Club, and our butler, Deiby, was fantastic. He was attentive, always responsive, and made our stay extra special. He was definitely a highlight of our experience! The resort is a short distance from the airport, which was very convenient. The beach wasn’t the greatest, but I’m more of a pool person, so it wasn’t a big deal for me. The resort also seemed fairly quiet and not fully booked during our stay, which made for a really relaxing atmosphere. We loved the lazy river and spent quite a bit of time there. It’s such a great way to spend the day! There were also four other pools, although we only visited three of them. Since the resort was generally quiet, there were tons of loungers and chairs available, and the pools were rarely busy. They were also generally clean and well maintained. The poolside chicken wing delivery was another highlight and is definitely a must-try! Our room was spacious, the beds were super comfortable, and everything was generally clean and well maintained. Housekeeping came by daily and did a great job, including replenishing our water. The food was very good overall. We especially enjoyed Blue Moon and the Steakhouse. We had breakfast every morning at the Privilege restaurant, which had a great buffet with lots of options, plus the option to order freshly prepared dishes from the kitchen. The drinks were plentiful and definitely strong! There was a decent variety to choose from, and the bartenders were able to make whatever we requested. The staff were friendly, although we did find that the overall service could have been a little more attentive in some areas. Deiby was definitely an exception! Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Between the comfortable room, great food and drinks, relaxing pool areas, and especially the excellent service from Deiby, we had a wonderful vacation! I would go back.

Upon on arrival the lobby area is spectacular. The staff were great especially our concierge Josè Miguel Jimènez. He really couldn't do enough for us. He went out of his was everyday to check on us and see if we needed anything. Anything we asked was done promptly and professionally. He was truely one of the highlight of the holiday. The hotel was nice overall but could do with a bit more upkeep. Staff were nice and friendly although seemed to be overworked and unable to keep up with an outrageous workload. This was most evident at dining and breakfast times. The food was below average I would say. Everything is cold, however there is a microwave to heat up the food. Cleanliness also is a problem in the canteen. Route 66 was great and service was good. The steak house wasn't great. I ordered a burger with fries. It looked like a basic McDonalds hand burger and was presented on the plate like so. In fact it was thinner! The room staff were great, the room was always clean and tidy. The swing on the balcony was a nice touch! I would go here again but i would be more prepared. I would make sure I did a trip to the local supermarket just incase and i would upgrade.
