Cost: £6,827.84 | 2 Rooms • 4 Adults (My parents room number 3392) myself & my partner room number 3372 Dates: 5 September 2026 – 19 September 2026 | Board: All Inclusive OVERVIEW: Deeply disappointing, unsafe, unsanitary, and completely unacceptably run — not worth a fraction of the price paid. We chose this hotel expecting a relaxing, high‑quality all‑inclusive stay for our family — including my parents — and paid nearly £7,000 for it. What we experienced was shocking, and I feel compelled to warn others honestly. ❌ SERIOUS CONCERNS — SAFETY & CONDUCT • Public indecency: We repeatedly witnessed people having sexual intercourse in the pools and on sun loungers — both during the day and at night. This was visible to all guests, including families, and appeared completely unenforced by staff. • Violence & disorder: We saw physical fights break out among guests during our stay; there was no visible security presence or proper management. • Alleged drug activity: Several members of staff appeared to be selling drugs — primarily cannabis — openly around the pool and guest areas. ❌ HEALTH & HYGIENE — SEVERE ISSUES • Food poisoning: Both my mother and father suffered confirmed food poisoning during the trip — they were violently ill and bedbound for days. This ruined their holiday entirely. • Filthy pools: Pools were visibly dirty with vomit, spilled drinks, cigarette butts and bodily fluids floating in them. They were not cleaned properly during our stay. As the the pool bars had open and closing hours but the pool remained open with no lights or any type of safety meaning guests were still swimming around till all hours Witnessed 2 young females been pulled from pool bar non responsive to which staff had to give 1 female CPR while more staff cared for other female who was unconscious but breathing. ❌ ROOMS & FACILITIES — FAILED BASICS • Outdated accommodation: Bedrooms are tired, worn, and in need of major renovation — nothing like the polished photos online. • Water failures: ◦ ✗ No cold water in rooms for 2 full days ◦ ✗ No hot water for 3 full days • Air‑con failed: No working air conditioning for 3 days — unbearable in the heat. Room had a telephone and on check in advised if need to report or request just pick up receiver and dial 0 but found out telephone did not work, walked to reception informed staff to be told the telephone lines are down, and they would send maintenance to room each day was told that they can’t fix the issues offered to move out rooms, was given key cards for 2 new rooms to see if they were any good walked in the first room and the smell of damp and mould hit and was worse than what we had • Lifts out of order: When the lifts broke, my mother — who has a heart condition — was forced to walk up 3 flights of stairs repeatedly. This was dangerous and distressing; staff offered no assistance. ❌ STAFF ATTITUDE — HOSTILE WITHOUT TIPS Service was conditional on tipping. If we did not give a tip every single time we were served, staff became rude, dismissive, unhelpful, or ignored us entirely. Politeness and basic service should be standard — not something you have to pay extra for on an all‑inclusive booking. 💡 VERDICT This was not a holiday — it was a nightmare. For nearly £6,800 we expected safety, cleanliness, reliable basics, and respect. Instead we got filth, danger, illness, broken facilities, and staff who either demanded tips or sold drugs. My mother’s health was put at risk and my parents were left sick and distressed. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone — avoid at all costs.

it was great! the buffet staff as always very accommodating. they set up a birthday cake and decorations for another guest that I met there. Roberto got me batida de lechosa the way we make it in DR (milk, sugar etc) I haven't had that in years. the bartenders always willing to serve no matter how crazy it gets. I did notice more observations from the staff on ppl and rescue services around for those who over drank (several during my stay) signs by thr beach clearly indicating the closing of the beach. I didn't see security but I wasn't at the beach that late to look for it. overall, it was great. no complaints. ps this hotel is not for everyone. if you want a party hotel, this is it. come and make friends while having a good time. drink responsibly and enjoy Dominican Republic.

Overall a really good hotel I just want to let people know that if they want to go out don’t use the taxis from reception they charge 3 times more than what it should be we paid 1.200 pesos to go to downtown Punta Cana on our return we asked bar staff at EL PUB to order a taxi for us and confirm a price so we didn’t get ripped off.we were shocked when they told us it would be 400 pesos back to our hotel obviously they got a nice tip and so did our taxi driver

I recently returned from a 7-day vacation at **Riu Republica in Punta Cana**, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The problems started at the airport. The transportation company, **AmStar**, accidentally gave my luggage to another customer and gave me someone else’s bag. Trying to get the situation corrected was a headache. I was told that I would have to pay for a taxi to get the correct luggage because they would not take responsibility for fixing the problem. This was a terrible way to start my vacation. The food was mediocre, and the Wi-Fi/internet service was poor. I also encountered **several cockroaches around the hotel**, which was very concerning. Another issue was the entertainment and music. During my entire 7-day stay, the music was almost exclusively Spanish. I enjoy Spanish music, but I also expect a resort that welcomes international guests to offer a variety of music and entertainment. As a non-Spanish-speaking guest, I felt that the resort catered heavily toward Spanish-speaking guests. I believe there should be a better balance for guests who speak English, French, and other languages. Is it possible to do that of course, other resorts creatively tailor their entertainment to accommodate all different types of people. I honestly think the issue was management. If management step their game up this could be definitely a much better resort. There were **six of us on this trip**, and based on our experience, I would not recommend this resort to my friends, family, or my travel clients. The best thing about this resort was the price of my package. **Overall: Unfortunately, I would not return to Riu Republica**

The campus was beautifully maintained but the room and room service left a little to be desired. Had to pull sheets for them to be changed even though they were soiled when we got there. The sink had a broken plate and a drawer on the dresser was broken. We asked 3 times for wash clothes and our pool towels were taken when we had to use them to hold water out of our room from a water leak from the room across the hall. Then not returned so we had no towel keys or towels
