Le Domaine de L'Orangeraie Resort & Spa

We stayed at Le Domaine de L’Orangeraie for three nights. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but unfortunately we did not feel that the experience justified the price. The hotel itself is nice and the food was good, although not exceptional. Our main disappointment was the service when we reported that we had no hot water in our room. The issue was not handled particularly efficiently, and only the following day were we offered the possibility of changing rooms. For the same price range, we stayed at better hotels on other islands in the Seychelles, both in terms of service and overall experience. Not a bad hotel by any means, but the value for money was disappointing.

A well travelled couple and this was one of the best experiences we have ever had. The hotel and location are great. The rooms superb and the food was excellent. The bit that tops all of this is the staff. They are so attentive and friendly. A real credit to what is a great hotel. Manish in the restaurant was a standout member of the team

Amazing experience, everything was Staff attention to our needs, room quality, the pool the spa - everything was perfect. The food is the best we ever had at a hotel.

We stayed at the Le Domaine de L'Orangeraie for a whole week. After a really rough ride with the ferry we arrived at this beautiful hotel and we enjoyed our stay very much. Everybody was extremely friendly and helpful (special thanks to Emon from the breakfast buffet, all the wonderful waiters, our favorite driver Graham and Sohang, who cleaned our villa). Unfortunately we hade unexpected rainy weather but the staff from the restaurant really pampered us and surprised us with an amazing farewell breakfast in the pool pavilion on our last morning. It was a lovely stay on a beautiful island. We also enjoyed the little kittens on the site and hope that the hotel will take good care of them so that they can become the signature cats of the hotel. We can only recommend this lovely hotel. Just make sure that you have really effective travel pills against seasicknes as the trip to the island can be a challenge.

Negatives - [ ] 10am check out - really?! - [ ] No wash basin inside the villa, you have to open two doors to wash hands after using the toilet - totally unhygienic and leaves you susceptible to getting bitten alive by the many mosquitoes after dark when you brush your teeth before bed. - [ ] Sun beds around the pool area are packed in like sardines; not helped by the hotel allowing day passes to non-resident guests. - [ ] There’s a health and safety issue around the pool - many unmarked steps; sadly we witnessed one guest having a nasty fall down some of them. - [ ] Some villas sit up on a very very steep and windy road which can be slippery when wet. - [ ] Our villa was spacious and with amazing views but a bit tired; inadequate lighting and limited storage space. - [ ] Bathrooms in the public areas could be improved - poor lighting. Positives - [ ] Friendly staff especially the buggy drivers who were quick to respond to requests and were very customer oriented. - [ ] Comfortable bed - slept like a log. - [ ] Good location - within a stone’s throw to the ferry terminal, local restaurants and shops. - [ ] Nice food served at the pool bar with a menu to suit all tastes. - [ ] Good breakfast and Emon on the egg station deserves a shout out for his creativity!
