I'd like to update my previous review. While our stay did not get off to the best start, I want to recognize Mariam, the Front Office Manager, for taking our concerns seriously. She listened carefully, kept us informed throughout the process, and did everything she could to improve our experience. On our third day, we were moved to a different room, and what a difference it made. The room exceeded all our expectations. It was incredibly spacious, beautifully designed, and offered a breathtaking view that was simply impossible to fault. I would also like to thank Marie-Ella from the breakfast team, who was absolutely wonderful. Breakfast at Mango House is a refreshing change from the usual buffet experience, with many dishes prepared fresh to order, making each morning feel special. A special mention goes to Chef Mohammed, the Executive Chef, who was exceptionally attentive throughout our stay. My husband mentioned that he loves dragon fruit and always looks forward to enjoying it whilst on holiday. Chef Mohammed went out of his way to source some for us and later surprised us by sending the largest and most delicious dragon fruits we have ever tasted directly to our room. It was such a thoughtful gesture and one that we truly appreciated. We also enjoyed dining at the hotel's Creole, Italian, and Japanese restaurants. While the menus are somewhat limited, every dish we tried was beautifully presented, expertly prepared, and full of flavour. Tomas at the Soley Pool Bar was always cheerful and welcoming, preparing excellent cocktails and helping create a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Yulia was also extremely helpful in arranging activities for us. During our stay, we participated in the rum tasting, bath experience, and cocktail masterclass, all of which were enjoyable and well organised. A special thank you also goes to Samuel, who frequently drove us around the resort in his buggy. He was always friendly, cheerful, and a pleasure to chat with. His kindness and willingness to help never went unnoticed and contributed greatly to our overall experience. The hotel offers three swimming pools: two smaller infinity-style pools with stunning views and a larger pool that is perfect for swimming. The complimentary champagne sunset experience is also a lovely touch and adds to the overall atmosphere of the property. One small downside was the mosquitoes, which were quite persistent, and even insect repellent did not seem particularly effective for me. Thank you to the housekeeping team that left me a bottle of insect repellent that worked a bit better than the one I had. Overall, after a disappointing start, we ended up having a truly wonderful stay at Mango House. The way our concerns were handled made all the difference, and the second room completely transformed our experience. In my opinion, the issues we encountered at the beginning stemmed largely from the way our concerns were initially handled at reception. I don't recall the staff member's name, and it may simply have been a matter of miscommunication or approach, but I believe additional customer service training could help ensure a more consistent guest experience in the future. Despite the rocky start, the outstanding service from Mariam and the rest of the team turned things around. We left with many wonderful memories of our stay and are grateful to everyone who helped make the remainder of our holiday so enjoyable. ---------------------- Previous Review ----------------- Very disappointing experience at Mango House Seychelles, so far … Unfortunately, my stay at Mango House has started with a level of disappointment I did not expect from a property of this category, particularly as a Hilton Honors Diamond member. We arrived late at night, and before arriving I contacted the hotel several times to make it very clear that having a beautiful ocean view was important to me. I am fully aware that a complimentary upgrade is never guaranteed. For that reason, I deliberately booked and paid for a King Premium Room with Ocean View. I wanted to make sure that, even without an upgrade, I would have the room and view I had paid for. The next morning, I opened the curtains and was shocked to see a large shed/new structure directly obstructing the view, together with a coconut tree blocking much of the remaining ocean view. This is not what I expected when booking and paying for a Premium Ocean View room. I immediately raised the issue with the hotel. I was told that the hotel was fully booked and therefore there was nothing they could do. However, this explanation was particularly frustrating because I was able to check availability myself and could see that rooms were still available to book. But what happened next was even more disappointing. The hotel offered me the possibility of moving to a standard room. Let that sink in: I paid for a Premium Ocean View room, and instead of an upgrade, I was offered a downgrade to a standard room. I don’t expect a complimentary upgrade simply because I am a Diamond member. What I do expect is to receive the room category I paid for and for the hotel to make a genuine effort to resolve a problem when the room does not meet reasonable expectations. And unfortunately, the problems didn’t stop there. I have already been bitten by mosquitoes, so I asked the hotel if they had mosquito repellent or one of those plug-in mosquito devices that releases a repellent/fume to help reduce mosquito bites. I was told that they didn’t have anything available and that I could buy a repellent the next day when the shop is open. So now I have many bites on my leg. For a resort in Seychelles, where mosquitoes are hardly an unexpected issue, I found this surprisingly basic and disappointing. What makes the situation particularly frustrating is that I still have four more nights remaining. Instead of arriving at a beautiful luxury resort and looking forward to relaxing, I am already wondering what the rest of the stay will be like. Mango House may have a beautiful location, but a beautiful location alone isn’t enough. Communication, room allocation, guest expectations and basic comfort matter too. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and actually finds a solution rather than simply explaining why nothing can be done. I came to Mango House expecting a memorable Seychelles experience. So far, unfortunately, the experience has been memorable for all the wrong reasons. I still have four nights left, so I’m hoping the hotel has the opportunity to turn things around and change my first impression. I’ll see how the rest of the stay goes based on how the situation is handled. Hopefully, there will be a much more positive story to tell by the end of my stay.

Our stay at Mango House was exceptional. There are many l luxury options in Mahe but Mango House is smaller and feels personal. Beautiful property and great staff! The hotel in general was wonderful, clean. We stayed in the ocean house room and we were in was on the ocean and had a large bathroom and deck with a pool. The “Breakfast team” staff were amazing and attentive. Not only did they give amazing service but they also helped with things to do on the island of Mahe. Anna, Liza, Davido, Marie-Ella, Stephanetta, Emma, Nathalie, and Jeet. The great thing about breakfast is included in our stay and was substantial and you can order cooked items. Every item we had was tasty. At the beach bar, Thomas and Samia were so pleasant and made good drinks. They were even kind enough to help me carry them to my room when I needed it. Chef Mohammed, the executive chef, was also very attentive. We did not meet his team in the back but the meals they made were wonderful. All meals that we had at the Mango House were delicious. We ate breakfast every day (and one day they packed a breakfast as we were leaving early on a day trip), and had dinner at Japanese and Italian. The service at the restaurants was great! Also want to recognize housekeeping. I was not able to get all the names but Monette but the room was always tended to and cleaned when needed.

Mango house was the most exceptional spot on our honeymoon! It is a smaller hotel and the staff are so attentive, know your name and make you feel as though you are the only ones there. The rooms were very spacious, super clean and well ventilated AC in the heat of the Seychelles. The restaurants, though pricey, were fantastic. Chef Mohammed and his staff are always there to take care of you and all requests you may have. We recommend getting the breakfast included as they have lots of choices to keep you full for the majority of your day. This hotel is exceptional and we recommend it to anyone seeking a personal, boutique like experience.
