The hotel pleasantly surprised me! The location did add to the fantastic view. Our room was supposed to be side sea view and it exceeded that. The outside noise was non-existent pool side, but you could hear peoples doors closing in the room but far as I know, it used to be quite an old low budget hotel so therefore you can see areas of the room where there have been issues. The hotel does look lovely now! The extractor fan stopped working on our last day (not an issue), we did have a small ant issue on our floor for one afternoon but the cleaners came immedietely and cleaned/sprayed (no further issue) can't always be avoided. The room was comfy, spacious. Cocktails/restaurant/pool area are all fab! does get busy around the pool from early on. One thing to note, I imagine the rooms can get hot mid summer. It was low-mid twenties at night and I was ok but the air con is not that strong.

This is a review of what became a confusing booking process rather than the hotel itself, as we haven't been there yet. This hotel seems to have changed names several times recently and is known as three different names online depending on what booking or review site you are looking at. Sometimes it's called Globales Honolulu (Trivago, Agoda etc), Cooks Club Calvia (Tripadvisor) and Carmelo Calvia (the hotel website). It appears that the latter is the up to date name, but who knows! So be careful when booking as all of these names refer to the same hotel.

We stayed for 6 nights at the beginning of September and we can’t fault this hotel at all! Upon check in (which we arrived early) we were given our room keys and a room upgraded complimentary. I booked us a room facing the land, but the gent on reception moved us to a room facing the pool/sea. Rooms were modern, spacious and the bed was comfy. Staff were fantastic, very attentive and our room was cleaned thoroughly daily. The food was unreal! Breakfast had everything you could possible want and the lunch/dinner menu was one of the best in the area. Easy acsess to both Magaluf and Palmanova beach, both only a 5 min walk away. The hotel is situation on a steep hill, bare this is mine if you have mobility issues. The location of the hotel was fantastic, right in the hotspot nears bars and restaurants. We didn’t have any noise issues at all, maybe because our rooms faced the pool. Pool area was always clean and tidy, and had a really relax atmosphere. I’d stay here again, thanks for a fab holiday!

This was our 3rd time staying at this hotel and i am incredibly disappointed. When we first stayed here it was newly refurbished and I couldn’t fault the place. However, this time it was an awful stay. Firstly, we were over looking the hotel next door which seems to be a rough party hotel and every night we got woken up by loud teenagers shouting on their balcony’s, along with people screaming on the slingshot that’s right on the hotel. Our room was DIRTY. The shower head was filthy, looked like it had never been cleaned. Our shower over filled 3 times on our stay and I reported it every time. Was never fixed, seems to be a common issue as another lady was reporting the same issue at the same time as me. I used our white floor mat to mop up the water from the shower, picked it up and it was brown from the dirty floor. I reported this to reception and it took the maids 3 times of me asking to mop our floors. There are so many areas that need sorting, the sealant in the rooms has come away, there’s been a leak in the ceiling above the shower that’s been patched up, the brick work on the balcony is horrendous and looks patched up too which is very worrying. I stayed in a 4 star in Greece in May and it was miles above this place. Definitely is more a 3 star than a 4. Unfortunately I don’t think we will be staying here again now.

Was a bit concerned with some reviews but was fortunate enough to have experienced no problems with noise. The room was nice and clean, the bathroom nice, shower excellent. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good with something for everyone. Had dinner there a couple of times aswell and found it very enjoyable with prices competitive. One moan was that the smaller plunge pool was taken over with annoying groups with balls and drinks which was a shame. Overall though a great hotel.
