HM Mar Blau

We stayed at HM Mar Blau for a family holiday and, overall, there were some genuinely lovely parts to our stay. The bar staff were brilliant — friendly, welcoming and always happy to help. They really did a great job and were one of the highlights of the hotel for us. That said, there were a few things that let the hotel down. The food was fairly average and, for a hotel of this standard, I felt the rooms were looking rather tired and could definitely do with an upgrade. Unfortunately, though, our biggest concern was one of the male entertainers. He is bald and was involved in the water polo activities during our stay. I personally witnessed behaviour towards teenage girls that I found extremely uncomfortable and inappropriate. During the water polo game, he was grabbing some of the girls in a way that I felt crossed the line, and afterwards he was trying to chat them up. Some of these girls appeared to be under 18. As a mum, this really concerned me. I would not feel comfortable leaving my own daughters in his care during activities, and I strongly feel that this sort of behaviour towards underage girls should be taken seriously by the hotel. I also heard him making comments about tourists which I found offensive and racially inappropriate, including repeatedly using the word “giri”. My husband speaks Spanish and understood what was being said, which made the comments even more concerning to us. It is a real shame, because aside from this, we had some pleasant experiences at the hotel and the staff, particularly those working at the bar, were lovely. Unfortunately, as a family, we would not return to HM Mar Blau if this particular entertainer is still working there next year. I would hope that the management takes these concerns seriously and looks into them properly.

We’ve just returned from a one week stay at HM Mar Blau and we’ve had a fantastic time. We were self catering and we didn’t eat at the hotel, we just used it as a base so can only comment on our experience of the apartment & hotel really. Although, we did enjoy using the pool one afternoon and enjoyed a jug of sangria from the bar. We were a little concerned after reading some previous reviews however, we found the staff to be really helpful and friendly. The room was cleaned daily and fresh towels were provided if you left them on the floor. The room was very modern, clean and spacious. The bed was really comfortable, I think I’ve slept better this last week than I have in a very long time! We had a balcony with a pool view which was lovely for when we got back in the evening, we enjoyed a glass of wine (or 2) each night. We like to walk during the day, nothing serious just strolling and mooching about. The hotel was in a perfect location for us as the neighbouring resorts such as Cala Bona and S’Illot were really close by and great to stroll to. We also walked to Cala Morlanda to see the cliff jumping and then onto Porto Cristo for the afternoon (which was quite far but still an easy walk and it was all on designated paths/pavements). If you’re not keen on walking there are loads of places to hire bikes from, lots of people choose to cycle. We’ve really enjoyed our holiday and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel, its location was great, lots of bars and restaurants nearby and the hotel itself was really good, no complaints at all.

We have really enjoyed our stay at the hotel\. The atmosphere is lovely, the rooms are spacious and the apartments are a great size and offer excellent value for money\. Yesterday, we decided to upgrade to all\-inclusive at a cost of €45 per person, which we felt was well worth the money\. There was also live entertainment, and guests were enjoying themselves, dancing and having a great time\. The entertainment staff were fantastic and really added to the atmosphere\. Unfortunately, our experience was affected by the way one member of staff, Patrice, dealt with the guests during the evening\. While I completely understand that staff need to intervene if guests are behaving badly, causing a disturbance or becoming too intoxicated, that was not how we felt the situation was\. Patrice came out and shouted at guests, telling them to be quiet and threatening to call the police, and also refused to serve drinks\. We felt this was unnecessary and very uncomfortable\. It was disappointing, particularly as everyone appeared to be enjoying the entertainment and having a good time without causing any real problems\. I had been considering returning next year, but unfortunately this experience has made me think twice\. If entertainment is provided for guests, it seems reasonable that guests should be able to enjoy themselves within appropriate limits\. Overall, the hotel itself is lovely, the accommodation is excellent and the entertainment team are great fun\. It is just a shame that the way this situation was handled has affected our overall experience!

An amazing experience from check it until we left. The hotel was so clean and well maintained, the staff were so friendly and welcoming. We only had the breakfast but there was such a great variety of food and the staff at the servings were so accommodating. The rooms were lovely and clean and a lovely little kitchen area. The pool was nice size and even in September the entertainment team was there with activities. There was a shop on site that wasn’t over priced which was helpful. Would totally go back there , 100% recommend going thank you for an amazing experience.

We’ve just come back from a fantastic stay at HM Mar Blau and honestly, we would come back again. The restaurant staff were amazing. So friendly, helpful and always happy to explain how everything worked. We also saw them deal with a particularly rude guest while remaining so calm and professional, which really stood out to us. We stayed half board and thought the food was excellent. There were different themed nights and a really good choice of food. We also paid for the snack bar, which was definitely worth it. The portions were huge and the food was genuinely lovely. The lifeguards were brilliant, especially the female lifeguard. She was so kind and attentive and kept a really good eye on the pool. There were also balls available to borrow, which was a nice touch. The entertainment team were fantastic too. We didn’t get too involved ourselves, but they were brilliant with both adults and children and really put the effort in. The hotel itself was spotless. The cleaners never seemed to stop! Our room was cleaned really well and we had fresh towels every day. We stayed in room 4203, which had a huge balcony and a lovely pool view. We spent a few evenings sitting out there listening to the entertainment. The rooms also have a small kitchen area, which was really handy. Location-wise, the hotel does feel a little away from the main strip, but we actually enjoyed that. It’s a lovely walk into Cala Millor or Sa Coma, and there’s a land train stop right outside the hotel. It was €10 for all-day hop-on, hop-off and we’d definitely recommend going to Cala Bona in the late afternoon. Overall, we thought the hotel was really good value for money. Friendly staff, great food, spotless surroundings and plenty to do. We’d definitely come back! ❤️☀️ Two small things breakfast was hit and miss and the WiFi wasnt great around the pool. Very small issues.
