Cinnamon Bey Beruwala

I really disliked my stay at this hotel, and unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have had. We stayed in Room No. 247, which was booked for three people. However, when we entered the room, there were only two single beds available. The hotel already had the booking details and should have known how many guests were staying in the room and prepared the necessary arrangements accordingly. We also had great difficulty contacting the reception or room service because there was no telephone directory or clear information provided in the room. There were several other issues during our stay: The bathroom door is partially visible from the room, making it uncomfortable to change clothes or have privacy. Only two dental kits were provided for three guests. The TV had no signal. The Wi-Fi was not working. There was no hot water in the shower. The bathroom had an unpleasant smell from the recycled water used for flushing. Since the hotel was undergoing renovation, it was also very difficult to find our room, and we did not receive proper assistance from the staff. Overall, the room facilities and service were far below what I expected. When a hotel accepts a booking for three guests, it should ensure that the room is properly prepared for three people and that basic facilities are functioning. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed with my stay and would not consider staying here again.

I visited Cinnamon Bey Beruwala from September 13th to the 18th, and overall, the staff were very friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. I especially want to recognize our room boy, Pathum. I cannot praise him enough! He cleaned our room every day and did an excellent job. He always went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and would regularly ask, “How is my room?” His attention to detail and kindness really stood out. One of my favorite things was when Pathum would make little animals out of towels. Those small gestures always brought a smile to my face. Pathum is absolutely amazing, and his hard work and dedication truly made our stay more enjoyable. He is definitely an asset to the hotel. However, I do feel that the hotel could improve when it comes to overall cleanliness. The dining area and first floor were clean, but there were several other areas of the hotel that did not feel as clean. There was also construction taking place on some floors during our stay, which may have contributed to some of the cleanliness issues. Having stayed at several other hotels in Sri Lanka, I felt that Cinnamon Bey was not as clean overall as some of the other hotels I have visited. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because the friendly staff and beautiful property have a lot of potential. A special thank you to Pathum for making our stay memorable. He truly deserves recognition for his excellent service and dedication!

Stayed for 5 nights/ 6 days in this hotel which is located in a massive property alongside the beach with Beautiful views of the beach and one of the best buffets I had in a Sri Lankan hotels, the best part of the stay is the meals (buffets) and staff especially housekeeping and waiting staff. Positives 1- Massive property alongside the beach with Beautiful beach and nature views with plenty of greenery and walking spaces with large beautiful swimming pool. 2-Massive buffet with wide food selection for breakfast, dinner and lunch with Sri Lankan, Indian and western food selections to select from with live music during dinner. 3- helpful and friendly staff especially from housekeeping such as Pathum and Tyrone as well as waiting staff Thatsarsni, pasidu, Harara etc.. 4- nice comfortable partial sea view AC rooms with balcony, and daily room service living upto the 5 star standards 5-Overall the hotel feels safe with plenty of helpful staff around to take care of guests Negative: 1- There are some areas of the hotel, which are not upto 5 star standards and need refurbishment as it clearly shows its age. 2- The Gym is a small and very basic AC gym with just 2 treadmills, 1 bench and several old and bit rusty dumbbells which is not at all 5 star standard but rather 3 star hotel gym. 3- The pool is cold and not a heated pool unlike Cinnamon Trinco blue which I stayed several years ago when I was in Sri Lanka on vacation 4- The beach is not a private beach but rather public beach with several people approaching to selling stuff including boat rides. Furthermore, the beach itself needs better maintenance by the hotel as its adjoining the hotel despite been a public beach.
