Taj Bentota Resort & Spa

Having travelled worldwide to several resorts, I I can say that Taj Bentota is one of the best resorts when it comes to amenities, food, spa, and hospitality. The Palms restaurant in this resort is top notch, and we ended up using it for all of our breakfast and most of our lunch and dinners. In particular, I would like to call out our server. Sam, who heightened our breakfast experience every day, attended to our entire family with attention to detail and kept notes of our preferences. The spa at this resort is also top notch. All our family members ended up using the spa, including my parents. In particular, I would like to mention our masseuse Reena delivered a top notch spa experience.

His warmth, professionalism, and passion for food were evident in every interaction. He was extremely attentive to our preferences and made us feel genuinely cared for. We had a wonderful experience, and a special mention goes to Chef Jasvir Singh. He was extremely polite, warm, and attentive throughout our stay. We were travelling with our family and a young baby, and Chef Jasvir was incredibly thoughtful and helpful when it came to preparing food for the baby. He would frequently check with us about the baby’s meals and make sure everything was prepared according to our needs. His personal attention and caring nature really made us feel comfortable and well taken care of. It’s these small gestures that make a family trip even more special. A big thank you to Chef Jasvir Singh for his hospitality and kindness!

We are a family of 3 from London , who visited Sri Lanka for the first time and stayed at the Tag hotel. I have to say from the arrival at the hotel with welcome drinks to the very last day when we left we were totally taken aback how all the staff looked after us and made us feel at home. The staff are genuinely what makes this hotel one of the best hotels around the world I have stayed in terms of caring staff. Every day at breakfast we were taken care of by Dilan, Sam and Maduku who ensured that fresh ginger tea was made for us and that we were looked after with our preferential orders for omelettes and parathas. Sachith was fantastic with his house cleaning duties and ensured our rooms were clean and always ensured that we had enough towels etc. We always looked forward to coming back later in the day to see what animal he had made with the towels. It just brings the whole room to life with his clever innovations. Susanthi from the Spa team did an amazing job during our exclusive spa sessions that we had. She is a true asset to the Spa Team and did not rush our treatment and ensured that we left satisfied Ashek Pansilu,Methmina Induwara,PasiduDisanayehe from Tease Lounge and Bar were amazing and always took time to chat with us about our experiences of London and what is it like to live in the UK and about the history of UK. They made sure that we were always looked after and these 3 gentlemen are a great asset to the Tease Lounge team. So I save my last paragraph for the star award , which goes to Chef Dilip Singh. From the moment we arrived Dilip connected straight away with us and ensured that he cooked north Indian style (Punjabi food) tailored to our requirements for my son and wife, He is really a true gem and heartbeat of the Palm Restaurant kitchen . Dilip would always come up to our table and ask us what we would like to eat for breakfast ,lunch and dinner including desserts and always bought the food out himself personally to our tables for that extra personal touch. Such an amazing guy, caring and thoughtful person who goes out of his way to ensure a personalized experience for his guests. Taj Bentota - CHEF DILIP SINGH IS AN TRUE GEM AND SOMEONE YOU WANT TO KEEP AND CLONE ! I gave this review 4 stars rather than 5 , because Dilip Singh went back to India to visit his family for 20 days whilst we were on the 3rd day of our 6 days holiday. Dilip Singh had let the other chef Jasvir Singh know to look after us during the rest of the our stay. Unfortunately , Chef Jasvir Singh did not make the effort to even come out of the kitchen to acknowledge us and ask us what our preferences for food was for breakfast , lunch and dinner. It was only after day 5 before we went back to London that my wife had to personally request her meal requirements for our penultimate evening meal at the 'Shack'. Chef Jasvir Singh left us with a bad experience and personally I believe that Dilip Singh should be the head chef of the restaurant (if he isn't already )

Great indian dinner buffet at indian restaurant at Taj bentota .. It is very hard to find authentic indian cuisine while travelling in Srilanka . North indian restaurant are very few and poor standard . Went for dinner at Taj bentota restaurant. Indian chef Mr Dalip was great help . He took special care in making special dishes for me . Karhee pakora was best - never tasted like in restaurant and even in india . Dalip chef is great person to contact if you wish to have good North indian dishes and he is lovely person to work extraordinarily to keep guest happy. Taj bentota is good place to have original indian cuisine and great place to stay also .
