Hotel Tour Khalef

Pros Staff at Tour Khalef work extremely hard and are friendly. Staff were helpful made effort to help with our delayed luggage. Restaurant had variety of options. Hotel grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Location is good. Cons Check in process was slow on the night we arrived. We were asked to complete a form on arrival. Apart from being directed to the restaurant we were not told about anything else around the hotel ie gym. Hotel is outdated needs renovating. The lobby is ok but needs interior designer to furnish it and ensure good colour coordination. The carpets on the ground floor need changing or cleaning. Sewage smell in our room. Aircorn was smelly had to switch it off. Despite being off there was water leaking. The system is outdated. Cleanliness needs to improve, there were stains underneath the bed, doors had marks,door rails were dirty, for the duration of our stay the carpet on the corridor leading to our room was not vacuumed. House keeping need to pay attention to detail. Overall we had a good time despite the cons. We didn't complain about our room because i had disinfected the room and it was hassle moving to another room havingto move again given were there for a short time. I would not rate the hotel as 5 star.

This hotel is not a 5 star but more in line of a 3star. We ha e just spent 11 nights there returning home on 11th Sept 2026. The issues are that many rooms have no view except palm trees and bushes especially the bottom 3 floors. Blocks A & C the ground floor patio doors have no patio you step out of the rooms straight onto lawn area. They accommodate 1200 gust but there are only room for 500 people around the 2 pools, every one else is on a sunbed on the grass, if you are lucky enough to be on the grass within the pool area you can have an umbrella if you are outside the path you are not permitted an umbrella. Also there are only seats for 200 at amphitheatre for evening entertainment. FOOD The food is the same menu choices every day. It is never hot only cold or Luke warm cooked to a poor standard. The chefs work barehanded - no gloves. They handle red meat, chicken, sa buries without any hand washing. During our stay we took this up with management and it changed to glove wearing for one meal only. We also had an issue with sliced bread having g visible green mould, we bought this to attention of assistant director. His response was to leaf through slices (with bare hands) like a card file and remove only the slices with visible mould leaving g the remainder for guest. Food hygiene was a unheard of concept at this hotel. We lived on bi's uits and sweets. We ended up at local pharmacy to purchase the loal equivalent of fortisan energy drinks and dioralyte to avoid dehydration At the beach there was a refreshment building, drinks were in your all inclusive but snacks had to be paid for. Which brings me to mini fridge in room, this is not stocked with anything unless you pay extra for it as room service. We were restricted to 1 bottle of water per day in the room between 2 people, if we required more we had to attend the reception bar and collect it ourself The room on the 7th floor was adequate but in need of update and tlc The only redeeming factors were cleanliness a d the staff were very good and happy to serve Would we return to this hotel - not as long as we are able to draw breath I have only scratched the surface with this review the holiday was a disaster due to the food dining issues

Our Honest Review of Our Stay We had such a fantastic time and, overall, the positives far outweighed the negatives. There really is so much to love about this hotel. 🍽️ Food The food in the main restaurant was fantastic — we genuinely couldn’t fault it. There was always plenty of choice, with fresh cooking stations and lots of variety. The Tunisian and Italian restaurants were also excellent, both for food and service. 🧼 Cleanliness Everywhere was spotlessly clean and well looked after. The beach was spotless, and the pools were clean and inviting. ❤️ The Staff The staff were incredible and honestly made our stay. A special mention has to go to Karim and Hamza at the pool bar and Thameur at the Terrace Bar — nothing was ever too much trouble and they were always friendly and welcoming. 🎉 Animation & Entertainment The animation team worked incredibly hard to keep everyone entertained and they were so much fun! Light, Jamaica, Cece and Ziko deserve a special mention — they had us laughing constantly. 😂 The evening shows were varied. Some were better than others, but that really comes down to personal preference. 🍹 Drinks & Bars The drinks were good, especially considering they are local drinks, and we loved the variety of bars and restaurants available. There was always somewhere different to go. 🧀🍷 Little Extras We also loved that there was always something different happening, whether it was cheese and wine night, cocktails in the lobby or other little events throughout the week. It definitely helped keep things interesting. ❌ The Negatives If we’re being completely honest, we wouldn’t personally class this as a 5-star hotel. The main reason is general maintenance and the fact that some areas are starting to look a little tired and could benefit from modernisation. The toilets by the pool in particular could definitely do with some attention. The seafood restaurant is another negative, As soon as we sat down our starters were put infront of us, felt very rushed. The soup was nice and that's where it ended. Nothing was explained to us, what anything was, unlike the Tunisian where each dish was clearly explained. The Caesar salad was bland and the seafood cocktail was tasteless. The main course was diabolical, all our prawns were overcooked, frozen bland vegetables and fennel heavy dry rice. The pudding was a dense chocolate cake with nut ice cream (luckily no allergies). Service was poor and very rushed. Management we’re made aware so hopefully something changes. And honestly… that’s it! 😂 The positives massively outweigh the negatives. We had the best time, met some amazing people and were made to feel so welcome by the incredible staff. Would we stay again? Absolutely! ❤️🌴🍹 A huge thank you to everyone who made our stay so enjoyable — you really did make our holiday. ❤️

On the first day I arrived, the hotel security/door man saw I arrived and went back to the security area without greeting or helping me and my wife with are luggages. The room I was given, the AC was not working and it was a very old AC system that is in desperate need of an upgrade. The room overall was extremely dirty and the bathroom had an awful smell of the drain. We then complained and were moved to another room on a temporary basis, this room, the safe was not working and the bad drain smell was still there in the bathroom with the ceiling leaking at times with drops of water. Basic room amenities had to be requested such as kettle, tissue box, slippers etc. bedsheets were only changed once during my six night stay and that to was without the pillow cases being changed. The staff overall was friendly in particular Rafika who helped us move to a room that had a working AC, safe and bathroom without a drain smell. The Ala Carte restaurant was superb, both the food and service. The buffet had good variety and the restaurant staff were friendly and prompt with drink as well as clearing tables. The hotel has potential to be a good 5 star hotel but the lack of cleanliness is disappointing and not to the standards of a 5 star hotel.

The Hotel Tour Khalef was sold to us as a five star all inclusive holiday hotel. This hotel was at best a three star hotel whose only two redeeming features were cleanliness and the hotel staff who were friendly and always willing to serve Upon arrival (late due to 3hr 35min flight delay) the tried to put us in a garden view room where we had booked a deluxe sea view room. This took 45 minutes to resolve by reception staff. Upon arrival in room the room was basic and dated but usable. However the mini fridge was empty and remained that way, when I enquired they told me we had to pay extra for the mini fridge to be stocked as a room service charge. The irony of this was you could go down to the Lobby bar and get bottles of wine and soft drinks to take to your room free of charge. We were also limited to only one large bottle of water per day in room for two people – if you required more again you had to traipse to the lobby bar to obtain, this became an inconvenience after 11 nights. On day one we went to the beach and although there was a snack bar and drinks facility there when we went to get a lunch time snack we were informed the bar was free we would have to pay extra to use the food service (all inclusive – I think not!!) The next day we tried to place ourselves at one of the two pools, however there were no free sun beds at 08:00 at either pool. So this meant you had to find a sun bed on the grass under the massive palm trees and try to chase the sun. This was the daily scenario. If you found yourself a place on the grass within they the path that surrounded the pools you could get an umbrella otherwise outside of the path you were not allowed an umbrella. This included the ground floor area of block ‘C’ where there was no patio facility, you just stepped through your sliding doors onto the outside grass area The main issue with this was the hotel had a capacity of 1200 guests but the pool areas only accommodated a compressed approximately 500 people. This was evident in other areas of the hotel 1. In the evening entertainment area only accommodated seats for 200 people 2. The el-fresco dining area was extended by placing dining tables and chairs onto the lawned area outside of the restaurant Food And Dining Where do I start, I suppose I could say that both my wife and I both lost nearly a stone each on this holiday. Also I had to go to the local pharmacy and purchase a supply of the local equivalent of both Fortisip (protein supplement) drinks and Dioralyte (hydration and body salt replacement) to maintain our health. As the food was inedible and the menu constantly the same for every meal, if you did spot something like porridge in the morning or watery mash in the evening it was cold or luke warm at its best and there was no food hygiene of any description • The Chefs never wore gloves and handled raw and cooked foods indiscriminately whether red meats, chicken or savouries. I took this matter to management and as a result the chefs wore gloves for one evening meal only and then reverted to normal practice for them • The bread for toast had green mould clearly visible on it, again I took this to management, The result was the assistant director was shown the green mould and he went to the bread tray and leafed through the slices of bread like a card file with his bare hands and removed only the slices of bread that showed mould leaving all other slices in place for guests to use. • In another instant we thought we might be safe trying the soup but again this was cold (not consommé) I brought this to attention of management so the took our bowls away to reheat returning them with one bowl of luke warm soup and one bowl of cold soup. • As another issue we got a cup of coffee from the main bar and were provided with milk that was off and sweeteners were no longer in powder form but had become hard square disks. Needless to say we did not eat at this hotel but lived on biscuits an treats purchased from a local mini-mart and the supplements from the pharmacy.
