Hotel is awful! People we met are soo nice and animation team bar staff etc are so nice 👌 can't fault the staff

⚠️ UK Travellers — Please Think Carefully Before Booking Houda Hotel I strongly recommend that UK travellers and families read the recent reviews carefully before booking Houda Hotel. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. I spent around £2,000 on this holiday, and I honestly feel that my money was wasted. I came here to relax and enjoy time with my family, but instead, I experienced a lot of stress and disappointment. Here are the main problems I experienced: 🧴 Shampoo and shower gel: When we arrived, we received only around 10ml of shampoo per room. This is given only once, no matter how long you stay. There was no replacement. If you ask for more, reception tells you that you need to buy it from the shop. 🍽️ Food and breakfast: The food was often cold, repetitive and not very enjoyable. The queues were extremely long and there did not seem to be enough staff or proper organisation. Breakfast finishes at 10am, but food can run out much earlier. For example, the toast had finished around 8:30am and nobody brought more. There were also no croissants, and children were left waiting for food. The pancake queue was even worse. Around 50 people could be waiting, but only one person was cooking. I waited around 20 minutes just to get two small pancakes. If you want more, you have to go back to the end of the queue. Because of this, families cannot eat together properly. One or two people have to stay in the queue while the rest of the family waits. There is very poor organisation. ☕ Coffee: Guests cannot use the coffee machine themselves. You have to wait for a member of staff to make your coffee. I waited around 15 minutes for a coffee, and by the time I got it, my food was cold. 💧 Drinking water: Bottled water was not provided during the day. We were told to fill our bottles from the water dispenser. Bottled water was only available later in the evening. 🧊 No fridge: There was no fridge in our room, which was inconvenient, especially with children. 🏊 Pool towels: You cannot take the room towels to the swimming pool, so you need to bring your own pool towel. 👧 Kids' entertainment: There was very little entertainment for children during the day. At night, there was no proper children's entertainment or animation. They mainly put two speakers on and the children danced with two members of staff. The children seemed to enjoy the dancing, but there was very little variety. 🚿 Room and bathroom: The toilet and shower are very old and badly need updating. ❄️ Air conditioning: Even with temperatures around 35°C, the air conditioning was very poor and did not cool our room properly. 🏊 Swimming pool: The pool opens at 9am and closes at 6pm, so you cannot use it early in the morning. 🛝 Water slides: The slides are only open from 10am–1pm and 3pm–5pm. 🎯 Daytime activities: There were very few activities during the day, especially for families. My Overall Experience I understand that every hotel can have good and bad days, and this is my personal experience. However, after spending around £2,000, I expected much better food, service, facilities and organisation. The long queues, food running out, lack of staff and poor organisation made our holiday stressful instead of relaxing. This was one of my biggest mistakes when booking a holiday. I would not stay at this hotel again. My advice to UK travellers, especially families with children, is to read the most recent reviews carefully before booking.
