Steigenberger Marhaba Thalasso Hammamet

We had a really lovely stay and thoroughly enjoyed our time at the hotel. The staff were always friendly, welcoming and helpful, and the food was fresh and delicious with plenty of choice. A special mention to Issam, who looked after us very well during dinner. He was always friendly, attentive and made us feel very welcome, along with the rest of the restaurant team. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and we would happily come back. 10/10!

Bar staff very good - Mohamed Ali

The staff at the bar is very good and friendly. Mohamed Ali, Baha and Lassaed are the best barman.

Stayed for 2 weeks at the end of August, arrived 1:30 in the morning finally got to the room and the air conditioning wasn’t working. Went to reception and they sent someone to have a look it couldn’t be fixed so moved us for the night at 2am. After staying in the second room we went to reception in the morning they said the air conditioning was being fixed in our original room or they would show us to another room to have a look at, we went with the duty manager and it was another bungalow but with 2 bedrooms the room was great and fantastic upgrade and we ended up staying in there for 2 2 weeks. Things break and don’t work sometimes but it is how the staff deal with the situation that matters, they were full of apologies and couldn’t do enough to help us the new rooms air conditioning worked perfect and was on for 2 weeks constant. The food was great at the hotel travelling with 2 autistic children who only have a small selection of foods they would eat we managed find something every day and evening, there was no lack of food or choice there was always something for all of us, a special mention to Ali he was amazing polite friendly and made me amazing calzones every night. Karim the waiter for the bar kept us constantly topped up with drinks always remembered our order and constantly checked in on us. Estha the maid was amazing friendly took time out for the kids and always had the room sparkling and clean, Omar came to the room everyday and topped the fridge up with water and soft drinks. My partner has a massage and seaweed treatment in the spa she said it was amazing 2 hours of treatment including hot stones was £72 which was great value. The entertainment team were always busy smiling and work tirelessly. We spent most of our time around the freshwater pool and the indoor pool they were kept clean and tidy the pool guard put our umbrella up every morning and brought beds for people if they hadn’t already got them. I really struggle finding anything I didn’t like about the place the staff were fantastic and helped make the holiday, tips are very much appreciated and they can’t do enough for you. Apart from the first night moving rooms we had a fabulous time, we used wissem for some trips picking us up at the hotel taking us to Carthage, sidi bou said and the museum before driving us back to the hotel I can’t recommend him enough much cheaper than the holiday company trips and no picking up at other hotels en route. We will certainly book again next year, having been to Tunisia 10 times this hotel has been the best. We also had a walk to Sebastian villa where Winston Churchill stayed was 24 dinar £6 for 4 of us and broke the day up nicely. Hopefully anyone thinking of going to Steinberger gives it a try I’m sure like us you will have a lovely time.
