Sun City Apartments & Hotel

Just got back from sun city hotel on an all inclusive deal but we had issues that let our ratings down.Good points are the staff are great, hotel is clean and tidy, we got a room upgrade, free Aircon, hairdryer provided, towels and bedding changed regular, plenty of sunbeds available, kids club was great, good exchange rate given by hotel, evening entertainment and day time activities were good as well.Now onto my not so good issues, the all inclusive package does not include icecreams or basic cocktails and only 5 spirits but cocktails can be purchased at pool bar along with other spirits such as baileys. Breakfast does not include bacon or sausage but again is available at pool bar to purchase a full English breakfast so these are available at hotel just not in main restaurant, I found some of the products were cold like the beans and mushrooms and the scrambled eggs were slushy so not cooked enough, plenty of egg items available, lunch and dinner was hit and miss with some items being very good and others not so but e loved all the soups, The snacks between 2pm and 4pm were excellent kids loved the burgers, overall meals are ok. Cat lovers will like this hotel as cats run freely around even in restaurant but if like me cats effect your asthma its not good but my main concern was that the cats use the restaurant flower pots to urinate in while people are eating and food is being served, hygiene issue also while in bar area a cat jumped into flower pot and had a poo making my wife gip and wrench and feel sick, health and safety, also they use the roof above the outside area also to poo and this as below our balcony so due to smell we had to close our door and there was numerous amounts of cat poo on there again heath and safety and hygiene issues.Be aware of the stall holders that attend as my son got some perfumes from them and was given change in the form of English 20 pound notes which he then used at reception to exchange for Turkish lira only to be told that they were forged notes but luckily his transaction was on CCTV so the hotel sorted it and the stall holder came back and refunded him but how many others have not realised and been scammed? We felt the hotel catered more the European countries than the English and ith the issues we endeavoured we felt it let itself down and was disappointed overall, If you have no issues with cats are not bothered regarding icecreams or cocktails its a good choice but for me and my family with grandkids who love icecreams throughout the day this hotel was not for us and if we had known about the all inclusive package details we would have looked elsewhere

Entertainment was made great by Beko, he was warm friendly and funny. He got us involved in shooting and darts. Loved the random game play. He really got everyone to join in and helped people make friends. Evening show Mr Sun City was very funny and there were some talented karaoke stars and some definitely not so talented 😂

We enjoyed our stay at Sun City apartments. First the good points... The staff were all wonderful, especially the guys getting drinks in the evening. Its amazing what great service a daily 200tl note will get you. Wish I could remember the main guys name who looked after us. He was amazing. Also, we got there at nearly 6am due to the airport being crap (nearly 4 hours waiting for suitcases) but they were waiting for us, checked us in super quickly and carried our cases to our room. Our room was cleaned every day, bed made and towels folded. No complaints there. Entertainment was very good. There were things going on during the day, darts, jenga etc. They didn't bug you if you didn't want to join in. Evening was karaoke, bingo, Miss Sun City comp (I won obvs)! Kids disco and cartoons was always a hit. Pools are lovely and clean, tho most of the sunbeds are in the shade during the day, so the others get used quickly. The food was great. Always a choice at lunch and dinner. Never had to wait for a table no matter what time we went down. Location is not too bad. 10 mins walk to the main shops and beach. Street outside the hotel is a bit rough but that's not the hotels fault. The spa. I booked in for a Turkish massage with foam bath. I cannot recommend enough, it was amazing. The guy who did the foam bath was lovely and extremely respectful. The ladies who massage are also very respectful and polite. Sarah, who booked me in, is absolutely delightful. Extremely friendly but not at all pushy. The not so good bits... Breakfast was very hit and miss. If you like all manner of eggs, you'll be fine. Food wasn't always hot but that's pretty standard at buffets. The cats. I absolutely love cats so didn't mind them but they were everywhere, even in the dining room and this might be off putting for some people. They are very friendly and extremely cheeky. The staff did shoo them out occasionally but it didn't stop them. All inclusive drinks. Not much choice, beer, vodka, white rum, whiskey and wine. Premium drinks could be paid for at the bar. The pornstar martini was delicious. All in all we had a lovely time. Our room was a little dated but very clean. On site shop is extremely cheap and the young lady working there is very helpful.

We had a very mixed experience at this hotel, but unfortunately the way we were treated at checkout completely overshadowed the positives. When we arrived, one member of our party was told that his room wasn’t available. He was given the choice of staying at another hotel or sharing a room with other family members. The hotel arranged transport, but when he returned at 9am the following morning, the room was still not ready. It eventually became available after 11:30am. The rooms themselves were okay and the beds were mostly clean and tidy. However, when we first arrived in room 528, we noticed a hole in the wall behind the door. We reported this to reception at the time. The food was adequate and most of the staff were lovely. A special mention has to go to Josef at the bar, who was fantastic and an absolute credit to the hotel. The pools were nice and, most importantly, the kids were happy enough. There are also LOTS of cats around the hotel — perhaps too many. They were everywhere and were even getting onto the furniture in the restaurant, which we didn’t particularly like. Unfortunately, the biggest issue came when we checked out. We were “informed” about the hole behind the door in room 528 — the same hole we had reported on arrival — and were told we would be charged £200 for the damage. We explained that the damage was already there and that we had reported it, but we were accused of lying. We were then told that if we didn’t pay the £200, the police would be called. Our airport transfer was waiting and we simply didn’t have time to continue arguing, so we reluctantly paid. This left an extremely sour taste after our holiday. Being charged £200 for damage we maintain was already there and had been reported was bad enough, but being accused of lying was completely unacceptable. We will not return to this hotel. If you do stay here, I would strongly recommend photographing or videoing your room as soon as you arrive and making sure any existing damage you report is documented in writing. I wish we had. There were positives to our stay and some genuinely lovely members of staff, but sadly our experience at checkout ruined it for us.

First holiday with my boyfriend and I’m so glad we didn’t listen to any of the bad reviews. The room and food was absolutely fine, we have done a week here and although we have been out for food and trips, we have always been able to find something here. The entertainment staff are the highlight of the hotel everyday- Firat and Beko got us involved with darts,shooting, jenga etc which has been a lot of fun. In the evening, we have had different shows and entertainment which had been great. If you are thinking of booking but are unsure, I’d highly recommend.
