Turquoise Hotel

We stayed at the hotel for one week. Nearly 90% of the guests were retired foreigners, with the rest being local tourists. I would not be exaggerating if I said the average age was 65 or above. The vast majority were German, and many of them did not even speak English. A large number of guests were using crutches or had bandages and various supports. On the first day, I joked, “Is this some kind of physical therapy and rehabilitation center?” It honestly felt as if the hotel had made an agreement with a retirement home in Germany and brought all of its residents here. That said, there were also families. We saw around 3–5 families with newborns or very young babies. There are plenty of baby high chairs, and you can find them almost everywhere in the restaurant. The hotel has two separate Wi-Fi networks, one of which is specifically intended for devices such as baby monitors. I really appreciated this because baby cameras need a stable, uninterrupted connection. Being able to put our baby to sleep in the room and monitor them through the camera made things much easier for us. There are also plenty of cats around the hotel. You can come across one almost everywhere, and all of them are very well-fed and chubby. :) The air conditioner in our room was not a cassette-type unit but a wall-mounted Mitsubishi Electric, which I personally prefer. However, on the second night, I noticed that it was dripping water. They sent someone to fix it, and we did not have any further problems afterward. I had to kill insects in the room three times. Two were in the bathroom, and one was inside the bedroom. The one in the room was a large spider and was quite difficult to catch. Unfortunately, you do need to stay a little alert about this. On the first day, I used the tissues and cotton buds provided in the bathroom. I deliberately waited to see when they would be replenished, but by the third day they still had not been replaced. I really would not want to have to call reception for something this basic. On the fourth day, we happened to meet the cleaning staff at the door and mentioned it, and they were finally replenished. The toilet paper is also very poor quality. As soon as it comes into contact with water, it starts falling apart and clumping. Overall, I would describe the cleanliness as average. I can understand why many foreign guests leave positive reviews about this hotel. For Europeans who are happy with bread or croissants, butter and cereal for breakfast, this hotel may be perfectly sufficient. We tend to eat a wider variety of food and therefore pay attention to more details. I also think local Turkish tourists generally have higher expectations when it comes to cleanliness. For that reason, I believe my comments may be especially useful for local guests. The grilled food is very tasty, and I would like to thank the chefs for that. However, the dessert and olive-oil-based dish sections are quite weak. Apart from some syrup-based desserts that I believe were ready-made, many of the items were rather bland. The cake, for example, was basically filled with whipped cream. Personally, I would much rather have a proper cake made with pastry cream. The lemon cheesecake, şekerpare and rice pudding were not bad, but when the alternatives are not very good, you naturally end up choosing the same few desserts repeatedly. The waiters work incredibly hard, and I did not witness any discrimination between local and foreign tourists. The service is good and the system is well organized. I especially appreciated a waiter named Atakan. He does his job with a smile and a genuinely positive attitude. I hope he succeeds in everything he does. Guests are not allowed to enter the restaurant shirtless, which I think is a good rule. I was also warned about it and had to go back, but I believe that is the right policy. Finally, I would like to comment on the tea station. The restaurant consists of three different indoor and outdoor sections, yet there is only one tea station. Unfortunately, it is not enough. Queues form regularly, and it is also located at the far end of the restaurant. I really do not understand why they do not add a second tea station. Another issue is that only traditional small Turkish tea glasses are available. You end up walking around the entire restaurant holding this tiny glass. If you normally drink four or five glasses of tea, you have to get up and walk all the way back there four or five times. If they simply provided larger glass mugs, people would not need to keep getting up constantly. I brought this up with a grey-haired employee who looked to be around 50–60 years old. When I asked why they did not have mugs, he replied: “We do things this way here. Tourists prefer coffee.” He also said it in a rather condescending tone. To be honest, it gave me the impression of, “Who cares about the local tourists anyway?” And apparently this is not just his personal opinion, because he felt comfortable enough to say it so openly. Ironically, even foreign guests who liked tea were filling regular handleless water glasses with tea instead of using the small Turkish tea glasses. So apparently they also found the small glasses insufficient. The beach is very rocky, and it is almost impossible to walk along the shore or swim comfortably without water shoes. For this reason, I would not consider the beach suitable for children.

What amazing hotel there is nothing you can fault about this hotel it very clean hotel staff very very friendly food amazing main pool fantastic always actives going on the shows are good only one thing I would say they need toilets near the main pool instead of having to go into the hotel but overall amazing hotel would definitely recommend to anyone

Just returned from our second visit and already booked to return next September, ticks lots of boxes for us , good food , a good variety of drinks , good entertainment and good service from most of the staff , one thing we find strange is the TV on the wall in the room , initially you think oh great a nice big TV . But when you turn it on the actual picture is only half the size of the screen , we did ask the maintenance man to check it and he said that was how it's supposed to be , hopefully they will upgrade the T Vs soon , see you next year Turquoise 🌞🇹🇷🌞.

The hotel is clean and beautifully located among a lovely pine forest. The staff are very friendly and helpful, which definitely deserves praise. However, I am taking two stars off for two major issues: 1. Very poor vegetarian food selection. I paid a significant amount for my stay and unfortunately had a real problem finding suitable food. On some days, the only hot vegetarian option available to me was plain boiled rice. This is simply not good enough for a hotel of this standard and at this price. There is also practically no choice for vegans. I am not expecting a huge variety, but there should at least be a few proper, nutritious vegetarian and vegan options available every day. 2. No proper smoking/non-smoking areas. There are no designated areas for smokers and non-smokers, and smoking is allowed practically everywhere, including areas where people are eating. Even after raising this issue with the staff, nothing was done. It was extremely unpleasant to have people smoking right next to us while we were having meals, or trying to enjoy any of the evening shows. Overall, the hotel itself is clean, pleasant and set in beautiful surroundings, and the staff are lovely. However, the poor food options for vegetarians and vegans and the complete lack of consideration for non-smokers seriously affected our experience.
