Beautiful location. Comfortable, clean rooms. Friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you. Tasteful entertainment. Plenty of food choices. All inclusive drinks gave excellent value. Scott, Food Manager, gave excellent service throughout our stay.

The location was amazing a gorgeous hotel in a beautiful setting with ground so well manicured it was a great pleasure to look over them each day, a very welcoming atmosphere staff are so nice and friendly and happy to help with anything you need. Reception staff are so nice and help in anyway they can (I have dyed hair and was worried about getting dye on the beautifully kept white towels so they actually provided me with a dark blue one on request ❤️) Rooms are beautiful and so well kept as a house keeper by trade I have quite a high standard and usually feel the need to clean hotel rooms or holiday let's in the UK and abroad but not here housekeeping are amazing and were definitely a massive part of my wonderful experience it was so nice to be looked after for a change, always having a clean room, bedding & towels (and a stocked fridge). The turndown staff spraying the room with bug spray each evening is a nice touch. The food drinks and table/kitchen staff were all very good we enjoyed 3 great meals over the course of the day with a great variety of food on offer catering to any food allergies or intolerances if required, tea/coffee and snack bar also available each day if you feel peckish between meals, also a new menu of cocktails each day so you can try new things if the fancy takes you. I have to add the manager of the food and drinks really was a really awesome friendly guy who was happy to help with any questions or requests we may have had. The evenings entertainment was really good the best act was on our last night (Wednesday 7th of Oct if anyone can please tell them they were the best I've seen at any hotel ever and would happily pay to see them perform I'd appreciate it) the company that booked our day trips were also very good I have ADHD and our guide Abdoul was friendly/funny and very informative and knows where to get the best food in Stone town and managed to put up with me with no issues (which is not always the case!) Over all I would love to return here and all of the people I spoke with felt the same way this is a wonderful hotel, very well run and I have absolutely no complaints which in honesty it's not often I feel this way being a middle aged English menopausal woman with ADHD I usually find something to moan about but not in this case!! I would like to thank all the staff from grounds keepers to management for an amazing time and overall experience ❤️❤️

This beautiful hotel (and it is beautiful!) sits in lush, landscaped gardens running up from the beach. The tallest palm trees you've probably ever seen and many other plants form the backdrop to everything, with the buildings nestled among them. A team of gardeners are constantly working and watering and their efforts show wherever you look. The whole complex is unbelievably photogenic, so moving around was slow as I couldn't go anywhere without taking pictures! The rooms are excellent - generous sizes, spotlessly clean, and comfortable. We had interconnected rooms for our family trip which was useful (with the connecting doors via a short corridor which was really good). The communal buildings centred around the main reception building is impressive and also very beautiful in mostly wood and thatch, and very well laid out (including some steps). The beauty of the place is matched by the beautiful service offered by all the staff. From the gardeners and cleaners through to the managers or supervisors, everyone is so friendly and warm. I think I will remember the people we saw every day, always greeted with a smile and a few words, as much as anything else. The pool area is excellent - huge and modern, with comfortable sunbeds and umbrellas and trees for shade. The food was excellent too. Every meal every day felt prepared with care and pride, which isn't always the case for buffet style dining, and I enjoyed being able to have various items cooked fresh in front of me. I liked eating in the different locations throughout the day. Again, all of the kitchen staff and chefs we met were so friendly and added to the experience of enjoying the food. Our visit was all inclusive and the range of local products was excellent, including daily cocktails - we found no need for the additional offerings available. The evening entertainment was good quality overall (not always my cup of tea!) - mostly musicians and singers - but added something to the evening meals. The location offers the chance to engage with local vendors on the beach - the hotel's appropriately low key security presence ensures everything is calm and there was limited contact unless we went off site. We found our contact with various local vendors positive and far less persistent than in Stone Town. I'd recommend having a short walk around on the beach area if you are inclined. While you may get some attention initially this was not aggressive and adds to understanding the local context for the hotel's location. There is a parade of local stalls including art and other items immediately next to the right side of the hotel from the beach, and hotel staff clearly know many of these local businesses. The hotel guided reef walk (with Juma) was very interesting, and the locals who informally joined in added something to the activity (no hard sell and some fun moments!). All in all, a faultless experience. We don't stay in large or 4 star hotels like this very often and we felt spoilt and very well looked after for the whole stay. Utterly relaxing and luxurious. We have just returned from a 9 night stay at the Ocean Paradise Spa and Resort in Zanzibar and it is amazing! 😍 We stayed as a family of 4 in 2 interconnecting rooms following a 5 day safari in Tanzania. We arrived in the late evening to a lovely welcome and were shown to our rooms…first impressions…wow! We had interconnecting rooms and they are huge! We noted that both had been made up as doubles and we needed one as a twin but by the time we had some dinner the staff had already sorted it. No shortage of space or storage and the bathrooms and balconies were also great. The room was spotless every day and it was nice to return after dinner each night with the room being turned down and prepared whilst we were out. The rest of the resort is equally amazing. There are 3 restaurants and breakfast, lunch and dinner are spread across all 3 rather than all being in the same place which is nice. We were full board and the choice and quality of food is awesome! We never got bored! Especially good is the Indian night as the two head chefs are Indian and their curry dishes are top notch! Also have to shout out the triple cooked chips which were a big hit with the family 😂 Scott (from Scotland!), the food and drinks manager, is brilliant and couldn’t have been better with us. As a Scot also it was strange but nice to hear a familiar accent on the staff team and my son especially made a beeline for him at every meal for some banter! He was super helpful with our allergy requirements and we saw him give the same attention to all guests. He’s a real star and asset to the hotel! We chose not to take the all inclusive drinks package which worked for us. The prices of beer, wine and cocktails are all very reasonable and the 2 hour happy hour each day is also great for a pre dinner drink or two! There are tons of loungers at the hotel with some around the pool and many more on the sandy strip next to the beach. We never had to go far to find one. The pool itself is great with a swim up bar and even on the beach area there are regularly staff happy to grab a drinks order. We went to the gym a few times and I would say the only slight negative about the whole stay would be that the gym could use some air con and maybe a mirror but that’s a small detail. We didn’t get a chance to use the spa but it also looked very nice. The terrace bar is another favourite where we enjoyed pre and post dinner drinks, the set up is such that you can grab a spot on the terrace and feel totally private even when it’s busy! There also another bar next to the dinner restaurant. There’s actually so much more I could write about this place as it’s so good but I’ll summarise by saying everything here is 5 star quality, the food, drinks, staff, cleanliness, safety, rooms, pool, beach, gardens…..everything! Everyone here is wonderful and friendly and we can’t wait to return in the future. An aptly named paradise of a place. Thank you for having us! Asante Sana

Wonderful hotel and spa experience beside sandy clean beach with safe enticing sea and coral reef. Excellent varied food and drink to cover all tastes, with happy hour lasting two hours! Complimentary afternoon tea near sea. Staff friendly , chatty and helpful. Beach walks fun with locals engaging in banter. Great recovery experience after Serengeti safari bumpy rides and less comfortable accommodation. Just don’t forget government tourist tax of $5 per day per person……
