Empire Hotel

My friend and I came with our boys. WORST STAY EVER! DIDN'T FEEL WELCOME AT ALL FOR THE 7 DAYS WE WERE HERE - WOULD HAVE LEFT EARLY BUT DIDN'T WANT TO SPEND OUT MORE MONEY. As soon as we got here we were told we couldn't check in til 2pm, we arrived at 12 and was told to leave our belongings in the lobby unnatended if we wanted to go and come back at 2. Staff were very rude. We were then told we had to pay an additional €240 to be able to use the pool, have breakfast and use the beach facilities. That was 240 for myself and my son and 240 for her and her son, we had already paid £1900 to stay here. Reluctantly paid it but instantly regretted it. The breakfast was diabolical. Stone cold eggs. Warm melon, not a great selection, only went the once, only used the pool once, as a big girl I found it difficult to get in and out of the pool. Ladder is unstable and the top step has no grip and is also so low I had to get out onto my knee, kind of embarrassing with everyone around the pool watching (never used that again) sun loungers were stained and mouldy in places and the beach area.... The sunbeds are the same as the one at the pool, the beach is full of rubbish and cigarette butts, music is too loud, no chance of relaxing, never used that again either. So I'm asking myself what I spent €240 on exactly, there was no way of getting the money back. Now on to the rooms, smell of sewerage that wakes u in the night, beds I found uncomfortable but then if u like memory foam ur on to a winner. Only a top sheet to cover but the weather was good so not a problem there. Plug socket falling off the walls. The one in my friends room sparked and made the lights flicker (dangerous) The safety cord in the bathroom was tied to the ceiling, I couldn't reach it on foot let alone if I fell. Mould along the edges of the shower. The balcony had the AC unit on it emitting hot air so could only use one side of it. 2 chairs and no table. No glasses or water in room. Did have a small fridge. No safe in the room, my friend asked for one and they brought her a little lightweight safe light enough a child could walk off with it. Cleaning staff walk in as they please. I went to the shop and left my son in the room.... He is 17 before I get slated for neglect, the cleaner saw me leave and walked into the room whilst he was on the toilet. I'd not asked for a clean that day. I stayed in an apartment last year further down the road and enjoyed my time in albania so much I decided to come again this year....... This hotel has ruined my love for the place. I won't be coming back especially not to this hotel. I advise air B&B best value for money - trust me

We had a wonderful stay! The cleaning staff were incredibly kind and friendly, and everything was spotless and very clean. The breakfast was also delicious, with a great selection. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this place! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great location for the beach and exploring. Hotel staff fine. Room clean and good shower in bathroom. Very clean pool and sun deck. We went all inclusive what a mistake that was! We were told when we arrived that breakfast is served downstairs each morning 7:30-10am which it was, unless you like eggs I wouldn't bother. Lunch and dinner are both served in the beach bar which is about a 3-4 min walk from hotel. We arrived here to the tiki looking bar, to be told all inclusive is on the other side of path and quite frankly quite a downgrade. The food served here for lunch and dinner was the same every day, with the odd change here and there. Also if you are all inclusive you can only have the cheap fizzy drinks, 1 beer on tap. I didn't even bother with the cocktails. This is the same at the pool bar, all inclusive get given fizzy from large warm bottles and they ran out of sprite on day 2, still not available when we left 5 days later. If you are there on another basis you get cold cans from fridge and fruit in drinks. THERE IS NO SNACK BAR!!!!! Nothing available between meal times at all. We felt like we were treated like second class citizens as we were all inclusive. Not good when you have already paid for your hotel and all meals etc. We ended up eating out every day after the first day and having to get snacks from local shops for our son to have round pool. Such a shame because Albania is beautiful and so are the people.

We stayed one night with my wife at this hotel,,,, from the outside it is very well maintained and has a nice view, the lobby looks very good,,, while I can't say the same about the rooms,,,, the room we had was 107 (junior suite) it was not well maintained, the jacuzzi was out of order, nothing worked except the water tap and the drain, one of the reasons we chose this hotel, very small bathroom for a junior suite but also a little unpleasant smell in the bathroom, the extractor fan was very noisy for a hotel room or it was broken or it wasn't super silent as per the standard, the breakfast was very lukewarm, for one night it is ok but for many nights I don't think it is suitable.

The room we had in this hotel was quite small, but there was a small balcony with a table and 2 chairs to sit outside, which was a nice seating area. The bathroom was quite small, but was adequate for showering, etc. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. A 5-minute walk across the road took you to the hotel’s private beach which has a beach bar with very friendly staff. The beach had very comfortable sunbeds and plenty of umbrellas available for guests, however they do not provide beach towels. There is also a lovely pool area at the hotel. Breakfast was substantial and gave a good start to the day. There is also free parking at the rear of the hotel in a small car park. Due to the beach facilities and close proximity to the beach, I would definitely stay here again.
