Hotel Lubjana

We stayed at this hotel for a week at the end of August. The hotel is beautiful, well maintained. However, it is not on the beach and doesn’t have a swimming pool. Although some rooms have “sea view” in their name, there is no room with full sea view, as the hotel is located on the second line of construction, facing the sea. So, you only have a partial sea view, between the buildings in front. We had a reservation for a double room with sea view. This is where we had our first surprise when we arrived. We were told that we received a free upgrade to a triple room (without being asked if we needed it or not). When we got to the room, we noticed that we didn’t have a sea view at all, so we refused the so-called upgrade. A room according to what we had booked was only available after more than an hour, so we had to wait. A minus for them… Be careful, there are no room with twin beds in the hotel, only with double beds! The double room is not very big but it was clean, nothing to complain about. The double bed is big, comfortable. You have a small fridge in the room (very useful for us, you can keep some drinks cold), a small TV (we didn't care), a safe, sockets next to the bed. In the wardrobe we only had 4 hangers for two people. Too few! The room has a small balcony, with a table and two chairs. It has a partial view of the sea. No classic chair in the room, just a kind of stool. The air conditioning worked well, as did the Wi-Fi. The bathroom, big enough, clean. Unfortunately, there is no door to the shower, and no matter how careful you are, the water still reaches the toilet, which if you want to use it in the next few hours you will get your feet wet. Towels are changed daily. The beach, quite wide, with fine sand. Unfortunately, dirty, full of all kinds of garbage, bags, plastic bottles, lots of cigarette butts. Not even in the evening is there a thorough cleaning. In the morning, in the early hours there is still a lot of dirt. Many sunbeds but the mattresses are always dirty with sand and not only. Although it is said that it is a private beach, it is not intended only for hotel guests, the majority are local customers (who are not staying at the hotel). Many street vendors walk among the sunbeds or along the beach. There is a young man with the appearance of a teenager who "takes care" of this section of the beach. He tells you where you can sit and where not. Probably depending on the bribe he receives from customers. Even if you come early, you cannot sit on the first line of sunbeds, they say they are "reserved" although there is no sign anywhere with this option and possible prices. A mess. The entrance to the water is smooth, the water is warm but murky. This is probably because the seabed is sandy but there are areas where it is covered with a sticky, unpleasant mud/silt. There are no facilities such as showers, toilets, beach bar, lifeguards. Overall, it is not a very OK beach. The restaurant, also clean, nicely arranged. We had half-board. Both meals were good, with enough options, except that at breakfast they were always the same. There were sometimes small delays in replenishing the dishes that ran out faster. There are no salt shakers and olive/vinegar jars on each table. Most of the dishes had names in English. The staff, friendly. Because one of the days we had a day trip with a very early departure, I asked at the reception if we could receive something packed for breakfast. I was told yes. The next day, when we left, surprise. The night receptionist knew nothing about my request. It seems that there was a misunderstanding between the receptionist I spoke to and the kitchen staff. The fact is that we didn’t receive anything. We didn’t starve, obviously. It was annoying that we were told that it was possible but it didn’t happen. Another minus… The area is OK, with many restaurants and small markets in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. There is a bus stop right next to the hotel. In 15 minutes you are in the city. All in all, an OK hotel, but it could be better.

Excellent Stay – Highly Recommended Dolanit Hotels Lubjana is an excellent hotel with private parking, located just a short walk from the beach and the promenade. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and include a nice balcony. Both breakfast and dinner were very good, with a good variety of fresh and tasty food. What made our stay especially enjoyable was the outstanding staff. Kristjan at the reception was exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. We also appreciated the kindness and professionalism of the other young lady at the reception. Simela in the dining room provided excellent service with a warm smile and made every meal a pleasant experience. We were two couples staying for three days, and we truly enjoyed our stay. We would be happy to return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Durrës.

just come back from the Dolanit Hotels Lubjana in Durres, we were a group of 7 ladies and stayed at this quaint hotel where the staff where amazing. Nothing was too much trouble for them, anything we asked for they accommodated. Christian on reception was very helpful in arranging taxi's for us. The staff in the restaurant were brilliant especially Simela (I think that's how you spell ) who provided us with everything we wanted - nothing was too much for her and her colleagues. Breakfast is continental but was enough The rooms were very comfortable and had what we needed, only thing was they did smell a bit of drainage, which we told Christian about and felt like it was sorted for a day or so but the smell was back again. Cleaners came everyday to clean and change the towels. The hotel is a minute from the beach and the hotel has its own private beach where sunbeds and shades are provided. no beach towels so take your own. Tirana is about 35/40 mins taxi ride and lots to do there especially the cable car ride is worth it to see the views. Overall our group had a great time and the hotel is convenient and ALL the staff made it a pleasant stay

We had a lovely stay at this hotel and would happily recommend it. The hotel was absolutely spotless throughout our stay, and the cleaner on our floor was always so friendly and helpful. The reception team were fantastic too. Kristian, along with another receptionist whose name I unfortunately didn't catch, were always cheerful, welcoming, and happy to help with anything we asked—no matter how small or silly it was. A special mention also goes to Sala at the bar. He made excellent cocktails and was such a friendly, personable guy. I can highly recommend the strawberry daiquiri and the piña colada! Breakfast was good overall, although there were a couple of things that could be improved. The coffee machine wasn't the best, and because many of the breakfast items weren't labelled, I wasn't always sure what I was eating. That said, the rectangular brown pastries served with tzatziki were absolutely delicious, and the cakes were amazing too. There were a few city-wide power cuts while we were there, but the hotel staff handled everything really well and kept things running as smoothly as possible. When the lifts weren't available, the stairways were wide, had handrails, and felt safe and easy to use. Overall, the excellent staff really made our stay. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, and we'd definitely stay here again.

Lovely hotel in great location. Exceptionally friendly staff. Clean rooms. Nice bed. Shower. Fridge, kettle, aircon and balcony. Food not good though, bar lovely with nice drinks at good prices.
