I have just spent a week at this hotel with the Level membership and decided to post a review, ill list my thoughts under the good and under the bad respectively: The good: Great location unless you are looking to explore local culture outside the hotel after dinner for example - the hotel is very secluded, but hotel buses run twice a week to Durres and Tirana if you want to take a day trip. The services are at a very high level, especially if you decide to pay extra for the Level membership. The Level rooftop pools/bars, which are 16+, are very quiet in comparison to the main pool area (although there are enough sun-beds at the main pool also and you dont need to worry about securing a spot early in the day). I have to highlight our rooftop are bartender Geralb, who took great care of us during our stay and is a great conversationalist if you want to find out more about the life in Albania or just have a nice chat. His drinks were also very good. For families I do not think Level membership is mandatory, but one of the notable perks is that all three of the themed a la carte restaurants are included in the price of Level. As for families there is a children’s area inside the hotel where staff organize activities for the kids and let the parents enjoy some much needed peace and quiet during the day. The hotel has its own beach area a very short walk away, including a beach bar. Now for the bad: The only two pieces of critique I found are that sometimes the main buffet restaurant food is slightly underwhelming - as a picky eater I found some cuts of meat dry and the seasoning was not too interesting. Especially disappointing was the burger night, where the guests are served what I assume to be premade frozen beef and pork patties. You would expect a 5-star hotel would mince its own meat or at least use fresh mince. Also at around 8 there is a long queue for the food, so either go later or book one of the a la carte places. Finally there are paintings and menu pictures around the hotel which are clearly AI generated, which further diminishes the premium allure of a 5-star hotel. All in all though the hotel is very modern, the facilities are completely satisfactory and there is a good chance we will be coming back. The hotel is both family and purely adult friendly (the latter does in my opinion require the Level membership for the 16+ rooftop facilities access though).
We really enjoyed our vacation with my family at this hotel. We had purchased the LEVEL program. Especially the rooftop pools and the sea view were beautiful. We highly recommend the barman Adrian, who was friendly and made great drinks. We recommend the Italian restaurant! Great service and food. The room is spacious with a garden and cleaning was no problem. I would also like to commend the Experiences team, who are happy to help you in every way. Thanks, Altea.
Forget this destination, bad A/C, the meals in mercado was only one time almost good and otherwise bad… The room has non functional bathroom (the water stay indefinitely and pour the floor completely. The staff is almost all time smiling but if you want something, they do nothing… it was the first and last time in Melia and never again…
disappointing . without late check out. dirty bathroom. never again
The astmosphere at the sport bar it was amazing and the guy who made my cocktail was very nice Xhejms made my night with the drinks he made ☺️
