Hotel Hollweger

Nice location. Nice building

I need another casually written review for the Hotel hollweger in St Gilgen. The hotel and city were magical. We had a Superior room with a gorgeous lake view. The sliding glass doors opened to a small balcony with a table and two chairs. The view was spectacular. The staff were friendly and kind. The town was a short walk and there were plenty of good restaurants.

We stayed here last year and returned again this year—and it’s such a special place that I almost don’t want to tell anyone about it! We stayed in different types of suites each year, and both rooms were elegantly decorated, beautifully appointed, and spotless. We had splendid views from both rooms, overlooking the lake, mountains, and church. Everyone who works here, including the owner, is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The walk from the hotel into town along the stream is lovely, and the private swimming area is a wonderful bonus. Everything about this beautiful, family-run hotel is perfect. It truly feels like a special place, and we can’t wait to return!

Location was perfect , nice walk to lake and close to bus stop and spa shop. The hotel is family run and Mrs Hollweger takes the time to greet you and say goodbye. The room was quite big with balcony. The bed was comfy although the pillows were non existent. My only fault was I had to ask for a kettle , I had to provide my own tea bags. There is a fridge in corridor for guests to use. We were half board and the food was lovely

I travelled for the first time on my own on holiday. After a difficult year I was looking for a place to unwind, relax and rest. From the moment I arrived to the end of the holiday , staff were wonderful and couldn’t be more helpful. The hotel has the family presence and the owner is always mingling and checking on her guests. This is rare to see these days and was a lovely touch. The accommodation is so clean, and beautifully prepared. My room was large and cool and perfect for me. The food at the hotel is again quite stunning. Buffet breakfast and such a delicious spread of breads, jams and cheese and fruits and tea and coffee. Dinner in the evening is also superb and you can choose the buffet or the a la carte menu. The swimming pool is great and I enjoyed use of this whilst here. For me the fact that is surrounded my greenery and mountainss makes it truly wonderful. I made friends with some other guests and this made the rest of my stay excellent with dinner together and a day trip up the mountain. Many guests seem to return year on year and I think k I’ll be adding myself to the list. This was by far the loveliest holiday I could have had and the facilities in the town ample. If you’re on your own don’t be worried to stay here as it is super friendly.
