The Golden Coast Beach Hotel

We stayed 11 nights. On the positive side: Nice hotel, we had a good room, housekeeping did a good job, staff was friendly, beach was wonderful (2 sunbeds and umbrella €10/day), lots of free sunbeds around the pool and terraces. Evening entertainment was better than many other places we have stayed. Nothing was horrible or awful, but there are things you should be aware of. The hotel is not in Fig Tree Bay, nor in the Protaras suburb, but in faraway Paralimni = In the middle of nowhere. Bus to the restaurants in Protaras +20 minutes, Aya Napa 45 min. (One way €2). Nowhere to go for a stroll. The buffet is repetitive. Boring. Not bad, just more of the same, almost no variation. After 2-3 days you start looking for other restaurants, but there are none in the area (bus 20 min). But the real caveat is this: Golden Coast Beach has a large wedding venue. It is located next to the open air dining hall. Noise from the weddings are deafening, and drowns out any chance of having a conversation at dinner, or listening to the entertainment later in the evening. During our 11 night stay we involuntarily "participated" in 8 weddings. This is definitely something you should consider before booking. The wedding guests were nice, and probably had a wonderful time. For the rest of us, not so nice. We were not warned about this, but now we know and are not coming back to an otherwise fine hotel.

I have just come back from two weeks here with family & friends for my wedding. Hotel is beautiful and everything we could have wished for. Rooms were always cleaned & lovely and big for my family of 4. Hotel was lovely and clean. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, especially one of the bar men at the snack bar I can’t remember his name but he was amazing! Food we always found something to eat! Plenty of variety and my children loved the snack bar pizza. Drinks were also brilliant! Fabulous area and the beach is amazing! We had a few meals out and which was only around a 10 minute walk. Easy enough to get a bus and taxi to protaros also. All our family and friends also loved the hotel and we all said we would absolutely return. 2 weeks did not feel long enough could have easily stayed for longer. Entertainment was enough for us, we joined in with darts and water polo. Evening entertainment there was something for us all from child disco, to acts to singers. Perfect hotel for us! Now my wedding…. Wow!! It was everything I had dreamed of and more!! Felicity is one of my favourite people ever! She is amazing & I am so glad she was the person to organise my wedding! It was stress free from start to finish! From the minute I booked directly with her back in 2024 she just made the whole process so enjoyable and stress free. Thank you again felicity you’re a gem!! Everything was done perfectly and my vision was brought to life!! Thank you for making our day perfect!!! I wish we could do it all again. The two weeks holiday and my wedding. We are already thinking of coming back next year! This is a beautiful hotel and we definitely made the right decision getting married here and bringing all our family and friends.

Well let’s start, hotel is very modern and obviously been refurbed, few points, in shower no where to put toiletries, water pressure awful, housekeeping hit and miss, food is very disappointing and cold and as for the smoking issue it’s not the best, pool is dirty all around the edges not been cleaned at all while we’ve been here

Managers was terrible and smelt of cannabis

The food was not good, only frozen food, the meat and fish they offered was dry and cooked until dead, no variety. The rooms had a good size, but were not cleaned properly. The beach was nice, but the hotel should mainly be used by wedding parties as there were weddings every night. The price per night and 4 Stars is not justified.
