The Golden Coast Beach Hotel

All inclusive + First the good points. Hotel modern and relatively clean , staff polite and friendly. Now the not so good points. Food repetitive and cold. Only hotel I’ve been to where ice cream is not a option for a desert. Even though we were all inclusive + actually ate out in the evenings several times. Not sure what the all inclusive + is, as bar closed at 11pm after that you are charged. My wife likes Aperol but was told at the pool bar if you want the real thing from the bottle you have to pay ! 2 bottles of water supplied on arrival but after that it’s up to you to refill from water stations. Pool not the cleanest as green algae above water line. Hard to find a place outdoors on the patio area for non smokers ( even people vaping in restaurants) All in all not the best will not be returning

Just come back from this hotel to watch a friend get married & also have a family holiday! 5th-12th October! The wedding was beautiful & beautiful scenery! Good points… - rooms are clean - showers are beautiful, run hot & powerful - drinks are lovely & good selection of cocktails - staff are friendly, especially the pool bar staff - pool is clean and check regularly - location is good, there is a bus that will take you into town €3pp - supermarket across road (cheap fags haha) - we arrived late and there was food plated for us in our room. - people leave their floats there so don’t really need to bring any - plenty of sunbeds but do have to be quick! - lovely walk down from the pool to the beach! Bad points… - FOOD absolutely gutted on this, SMALL selection and not the greatest. I say it’s liveable but we went out for food a couple nights! Stay away from the fish a few got sick from it in our group! - snack bar is okay, recommend the pizza & chips but that’s about it - as said rooms are clean but don’t change sheets - the bar stops all inclusive at 11pm and after that you have to pay for drinks and will then close at 1am which baffled us as we’ve paid all inclusive! - the entertainment is inside, so kind of hidden, it’s okay. Would be nice to have something outside. There is a nice bar that over looks the beach that’s under where weddings happen but everytime we went it was closed. The groom did say that be nice for wedding guests to have their drinks there instead of heading back to lobby bar so just a recommendation for the hotel. Overall we had a lovely family holiday, with friends and beautiful wedding for my friend! Just need to sort the food out.

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel while celebrating my daughter and son-in-law to be’s wedding. The staff were absolutely fantastic throughout our stay, always friendly, helpful, and efficient. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and they went out of their way to make sure everything was taken care of. Our room was clean, comfortable, and always beautifully cleaned. There was always plenty of food available at breakfast, dinner, and tea time, with a great choice and more than enough for everyone. The poolside staff and entertainment team were also brilliant and helped make our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, we couldn’t fault the service. Everyone was so welcoming and attentive, which made such a special occasion even more memorable for our family. A huge thank you to all the staff for making our stay so lovely. We would happily recommend this hotel and would definitely return! And would recommend for a wedding

Had to write a review in response to some of the negative comments in other reviews which just aren’t true! We stayed here in the height of the summer and it never felt busy, there were always sunbeds available. Yes there were weddings but they didn’t impact on guests at all as they have their own area. If you can hear the music there are plenty of areas which are much quieter. No it isn’t in Protaras, it doesn’t claim to be! I found the location perfect as the main strip area for me was like Blackpool and not a pleasant experience. With regards to it being remote and nowhere to go, you literally join the boardwalk just beyond the pool and walk into Pernera 15 mins or a bit further in to Protaras, however dotted along the way are countless restaurants. If you want to be within easy access of McDonalds, English bars and a Full English granted this place may not be for you. For me, my husband, 18 year old daughter and her boyfriend it was perfect!

We stayed 11 nights. On the positive side: Nice hotel, we had a good room, housekeeping did a good job, staff was friendly, beach was wonderful (2 sunbeds and umbrella €10/day), lots of free sunbeds around the pool and terraces. Evening entertainment was better than many other places we have stayed. Nothing was horrible or awful, but there are things you should be aware of. The hotel is not in Fig Tree Bay, nor in the Protaras suburb, but in faraway Paralimni = In the middle of nowhere. Bus to the restaurants in Protaras +20 minutes, Aya Napa 45 min. (One way €2). Nowhere to go for a stroll. The buffet is repetitive. Boring. Not bad, just more of the same, almost no variation. After 2-3 days you start looking for other restaurants, but there are none in the area (bus 20 min). But the real caveat is this: Golden Coast Beach has a large wedding venue. It is located next to the open air dining hall. Noise from the weddings are deafening, and drowns out any chance of having a conversation at dinner, or listening to the entertainment later in the evening. During our 11 night stay we involuntarily "participated" in 8 weddings. This is definitely something you should consider before booking. The wedding guests were nice, and probably had a wonderful time. For the rest of us, not so nice. We were not warned about this, but now we know and are not coming back to an otherwise fine hotel.
