Louis Althea Beach

Our stay at the Louis Pheleon Beach Hotel over Christmas and New Year was worth the money. Admittedly the rooms are slightly tired looking and I would only class it as a four star hotel but the restaurant food and the outstanding service by the staff from the cleaners daily changing towels, making our beds and cleaning our room were superb. The restaurant staff and management Ahmed, in particular were excellent, the food was delicious, lots of variety and plenty of it available. The bar staff too were so friendly and eager to provide quality service. Entertainment was good. The hotel location is the furthest away from Paphos central but regular bus service literally outside the hotel for €2 each way was a bonus. They made a massive fanfare on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, the food, the drinks and the entertainment was spectacular. All in all, a really good stay.

We had 9 nights here in October 25, read the reviews and was confident we had chosen the right hotel for us. Firstly the staff, all brilliant and helpful and cheerful and the patience of saints and deserve a medal. This review does not reflect the staff in any way. The hotel was full of foreign families with young children. (which I don't have an issue with) The children were feral !! and the parents no better, rude, obnoxious and unpleasant and zero manners to the staff. Children running riot through the restaurant at all times. The poor staff looked weary of it all. Hotel itself is in need of a major makeover. Main building and pool area ok but rooms dated. Clean though and housekeeping on the ball all the time. Sounds like I am complaining but I just think the tour operators should make it clear this is not for couples without children under 13. Food was average and some nights below average, my husband lived on the soup for most of the holiday, the lunch food was much better than dinner service. The entertainment was very much geared towards the young children. There was a couple of nights with good entertainment but mostly we took ourselves off site. Stayed at the Louis hotel in Paphos the previous year and it was WAY nicer than here, food better, entertainment, decor, guests etc.

Awesome 🙂 We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Althea! From the moment we walked in, the team made us feel welcomed and valued. The service was exceptional - professional, attentive and truly personalized. Above expectations! A special shout-out to Mohamed, the receptionist/manager from Egypt, whose warmth, efficiency and professionalism made the visit even more enjoyable. He went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly and made me feel genuinely cared for. I also want to highlight Vladimira (Ira), the wonderful waitress, who was attentive, friendly and made the experience even more enjoyable with their genuine hospitality. Every staff member at Althea deserves recognition - they all work seamlessly together to provide exceptional service. Well done, Althea! It’s rare to encounter such a combination of professionalism, friendliness and dedication. I can’t recommend this place highly enough and will definitely be returning! 🙂

A special thank you to Ellie, Hollie, Elia, Anastasia, Agerta and Daniel who not only work tirelessly to keep you entertained, but also are genuinely friendly lovely people who take the time to get to know everyone ( much love x ) No need to even consider leaving the hotel for food, the food is unbelievably good, ( and I’m very fussy ) It is careful prepared at every meal time, how the chef and his team consistently prepare food for that many people to that quality is beyond me. The hotel is constantly kept clean by the great housekeepers. The whole team are amazing, If you are considering booking this hotel for your family holiday….. DO IT. You won’t be disappointed. We arrived late at the hotel, luggage taken to our room why we visited the bar for last orders! Our room was on the ground floor and right next to the quieter of the two pools, the room had a kitchenette and the most comfortable bed we have slept in abroad The shower was powerful too The food was great with different themes every night, only downside to this was that you had to queue at night for hot foot Salads were great and pudding were lovely too Entertainment was good throughout the day and the evenings were good too, I even got up and sang at the Karaoke night There are bars and shops a little stroll up the road and we visited Windmills bar on numerous occasions with different tribute acts every night We also went into Protaras most nights to the Gheto Cocktail bar by bus which was only 2 euros before 9pm What a great holiday we had and will not hesitate to go back next year
