5th day home from a wonderful holiday with my daughter. Only now coming back down to earth. My third stay at Mimosa over a number of years, once as a solo traveller. I fully agree with all the 5 star reviews on here. Food was very good. Excellent chefs. Lots of quality meats, fish, salads etc. Rooms cleaned with fresh towels every day. The gorgeous cove just yards away, the balcony and view was to die for. So, so relaxing. We had some cool temperatures when we arrived as there had been a storm the day before. Never been to Cyprus before and not needed the air con! But hey, this is Cyprus and the sun soon came back bringing those warm currents back to the sea. I could say so much but it's all been said before. The Paralimni area is my very special place and I always book a car so that I can get around the area easily. Many beautiful beaches on the east coast of the Island. Done the Aphrodite Boat Trip. Saw Turtles and swam in the Blue Lagoon. Done Agia Napa one evening as there was a festival there. It was truly incredible. I have been lucky to have experienced other festivals there so was over the moon to be back. I could go on and on..... Overall, the best thing about this Hotel is its beautiful surroundings, relaxing & friendly atmosphere. However, it is Linda, Eugene and the team that makes this place a joy to be there. I felt that it is perfectly managed. Very well done both for creating a welcoming and caring place to be. Nothing is too much trouble for them and you feel very safe. All being well, I look forward to coming back. THANK YOU ALL. X Katrina & Beth
The Mimosa Beach Hotel is a beautiful family run hotel, located in its own grounds and next to a delightful small sea cove! The hotel rooms are basic but clean and have the basics included, the restaurant delivers lovely well cooked food and waiters are always happy and smiling willing to help! The owners can be seen during the day and evening mixing with the guests, chatting, making the stay personal! The pool area is large with a small children’s pool close by (life guard on duty), alongside is an external bar for drinks and snacks. Mimosa short mat bowls club are attached to the hotel, guests are able to try out the sport on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday afternoon.
Not yet visited Are inflatables allowed in the swimming pool ? We are planning to visit in July this year and my wife likes the use of a lilo whilst in the pool. I have emailed the hotel direct but no response received as yet. Wanting to book this week but saw a review inflatables not allowed surely if not allowed this would be mentioned on the website or when booking Anthony Jones
Nice enough hotel our room was nice we paid extra for sea view.food was ok.no shops nearby staff were nice would stay again.
This hotel is very very basic. Bring a travel kettle, mugs, spoons, tea, coffee and milk! There are no facilities for tea/coffee available outside of mealtimes, apart from at the bar (very expensive!). Rock solid beds; there's a difference between a firm mattress and a hard bed! We stayed in room 102, which to be fair was nicely placed with a grass area and a few steps down to the pool area. However, the walk in shower was a nightmare; water everywhere, even right out to the entrance hallway to the room. Lots of towels used to mop up every time! Tap water in the room is warm, you can get a cup of ice and water from the bar. Or you can buy bottled water for €2.80. Breakfast is bland, anaemic looking sausages, soggy bacon and tasteless baked beans. The same every day, apart from a variation on eggs. A small selection of tinned fruit. Dinner is restricted to 3 options, with a poor example of a salad bar. If you want soup, you cannot help yourself...this stuff is guarded like the crown jewels!! Dessert is a bland sponge with rank cream in the middle, tinned fruit and sorbet style ice cream. The whole dining experience was definitely provided on a tight budget. Plates are cleared from your table whilst people are still eating- very bad manners! Oh and occasionally you get a dog walking around the restaurant while you're eating. Swimming pool: The most miserable lifeguard; she can't raise a smile, so I'm not convinced she could raise a person from the pool! The pool is also quite small, therefore no inflatables are allowed. Wifi... barely works. We unfortunately stayed here at the same time as a (non English) religious touring group, who sadly thought they owned the place. Pushing in at the food bar and just generally being very loud at evening meal times. In summary...... if you want a base camp with not much around locally, and somewhere quiet with no activities then this hotel is spot on! Safe to say we won't be staying again.
