Aminess Laurel Khalani Hotel

Great amenities, 3 pools, lots of chairs. Some things could be better, for example reception desk is not on a 5 star level. That being said, if you have a kid, choose this hotel. There are so many activities for kids, our daughter enjoyed it so much. Special praise to Mia and Barbara for taking a care of our daughter and for an amazing aquadance and mini disco activities.

The location of the hotel it’s amazing. Hotel is also nice with the 5 stars standards. We had a pleasent stay. The terrace restaurant has a beautiful view of the sea and mountains. Breakfast had diverse and good food. The room was very big and beds were comfortable Per total totally worth the money.

This is our second visit to this hotel, our first was a couple of years ago. It is a lovely hotel, nice and clean and very appealing. But we noticed on this visit, several things have changed. On arrival, we had no bath towels and rubber shower mat, once asked for these were resolved. Bedrooms nice and clean and spacious. Swimming pool area, kept nice. Never a problem with getting a sun bed. The We found the drinks expensive. The hotel advertises that it has a roof top bar, one evening they were having an event, so we went, my husband took his drink with him, that he had purchased in the hotel, but was told that he wasn’t allowed it to take it into this area. So he drunk it beforehand, then we sat there an hour waiting to be served, and ended up leaving, and didn’t go back there. The restaurant has a few issues. We found there must be a problem with spoons, one morning we had no teaspoons despite asking several times. Replenishing food is a bit hit and miss. I asked for some yoghurt one morning 3 times, and the guy I asked, looked at me like I’d come from another planet. The food wasn’t very hot, plenty of choice, but only hot if you managed to get something straight from the griddle. I would only get chips as a new lot come out otherwise they were lukewarm One evening it was quite Smokey as they were grilling chicken, unfortunately I had a bit of a coughing fit, and felt like i couldn’t get my breath, I asked a waiter please get me some water, please get me some tap water, he said he wasn’t allowed to give anyone tap water, and was only interested in selling me bottled water, which I had to have. That is outrageous that they won’t allow anyone tap water with their evening meal. Some staff were lovely and some were miserable. We won’t be going back there.

On the plus side the hotel is in a great location, overlooking the sea with a promenade full of bars and restaurants below. It’s also very modern and clean with a great bar on the 7th floor with gorgeous sunset views. The waitresses in that bar and the housekeeping staff are also very friendly. We had 2 partial seaview rooms which were spacious, very clean and equipped with everything we needed. However, the overall service at the hotel wasn’t great and didn’t compare well to other 5 star hotels we have stayed in this summer. It felt very short staffed with long waits for drinks with meals and when using the at seat ordering service. One day we waited 1 hour 20 for a pizza and salad and in the end collected it ourselves from the kitchen. The restaurant staff also had no real interest in dealing with allergies. My daughter is coeliac and when we checked in advance of booking we were told that gluten free could be accommodated. On check in we were told the restaurant would be informed and would be able to show her which buffet items were GF. However that didn’t happen, the young woman at the restaurant check in had no idea and we had to ask 3 different staff for help until we were finally shown the allergen codes on the food labels (c denotes gluten etc) so my daughter could work it out.

We stayed here for 5 nights at the end of the summer holidays as a family with 2 children. The hotel is beautiful, always smells lovely and overall had a luxury feel to it. Our sea view room was spacious and clean and had everything we needed. Beds comfortable and quiet - we slept really well. You could choose to have the room cleaned, if not they would gift you with a surprise left at the door. We stayed half board and the breakfast was always delicious, the dining room was really tastefully decorated and we had unlimited Prosecco. The dinner was varied each night- plentiful, flavoursome and always was replenished. The dining staff work really hard and we never had a problem with ordering drinks although it would have been nice to have not been charged €6 for a bottle of water. The rooftop bar is so beautiful and we enjoyed several evenings up there when our kids were in the games room. The beach area was nice, people do try to reserve sun beds but we saw staff actively trying to prevent this and we didn’t have a problem finding beds in the morning. Same with the pool lots of sun beds. One thing I would like to highlight is the lack of security in this hotel. Every day there would be a group of young lads who I presume are locals, who would come and cause chaos in the pool area, jumping off the little bridge and generally annoying others who have paid good money to stay at this hotel. I did bring this up with the pool staff but they turned a blind eye. Anyone can walk in from the street as the gates are not locked, key coded or manned. We did wonder if people could also just walk into the restaurant and eat as we were only asked for our room card at the entrance from the hotel, not the outside. I think this is the only thing that lets this hotel down. The reception staff were really friendly and helpful and even found us a plug adapter as we left ours at home. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel caters towards families, if you are a couple who wants a relaxing stay this is probably not the hotel for you. Our kids loved it and had the best time swimming in the sea and pool every day. Overall a really lovely stay, good facilities for families and the area is just stunning. We would come back to this hotel, if the security was improved.
