We enjoyed our stay at the Atrium. We had interconnecting rooms that looked recently renovated and were spacious. The hotel was a little way from the centre but the area felt safe and there was no traffic noise in the rooms. There was a supermarket opposite for snacks and drinks. The fridges in the rooms weren't amazing but did keep cold stuff cold (not sure they would cool things that weren't cold to start with). We walked to and from the centre mainly (a 15-20 minute amble), but did get a couple of Ubers. The buffet breakfast was fine - all self service but plenty of choice (as with all buffets, things do run out at peak times but things were replaced if you asked staff). We used the pool, gym and sauna - the pool was fine to while away half an hour or so before braving the heat outside. We didn't interact with staff much but all seemed friendly and helpful. I would recommend as a base in Split (don't be put off by the negative reviews!), particularly if you need space with teenagers - admittedly we booked last minute, but there didn't seem to be many other options that had interconnecting rooms.

Smooth check-in; friendly front desk staff. Spacious, comfortable room. Safe, mini fridge, kettle, iron w/board. Robes and slippers. Breakfast Buffet: Acceptable, nothing exceptional. Fruit, cheese, cereals. Food under heat lamps, no signs on anything. Only 1 of the 2 coffee machines was working, so long queues. Ridiculous. Gentleman who seemed to be in-charge, was incredibly rude. Approached him politely; he said loudly, 'What do you want?' I asked where the ketchup was, he said to wait; went to kitchen and returned with a little serving of ketchup. It was such an inconvenience to him. Poor service. Group dinner: Average offerings and service. Location is about 20 mins walk to old town.

This hotel is outside the city centre and needs improvement. I wrote a letter of complaint and I am still awaiting a response. I stayed at the Atrium Hotel in Split last night in room 514 as part of the Gate 1 group. When I arrived at the room, I noticed that the refrigerator was not plugged in. I put the plug into the outlet and placed a bottle of water inside to keep cool. A while later I heard a noise from the cupboard with the refrigerator. I thought the bottle of water might have fallen. I checked and it was still upright. In the morning, I noticed that the plug had fallen out and my water was warm. At breakfast, the food items were not labeled. I saw two platters of crepes. I had no idea what, if anything, was inside the crepes. I took one and put it on my plate. It was only after I cut it open that I saw Nutella inside. Since I do not like hazelnuts, I was unable to eat the crepe. It took a while for a new tray of crepes to be brought out. There was some sort of jam inside those crepes. It would be nice to know what I was eating. There are certain foods I can't eat. I do not want to take a chance if food is not labeled. There were pastries I could not eat since I do not know what kind they were.
