Gava Waterman Milna Resort

Thought I would write a review with the type of details I'd like to know! We are a family of 5, 2 adults, 16yr old daughter, 14yr old son and 11yr old daughter. Transfers - Getting to Gava were pretty straightforward, bit of a wait at Split but a few shops and bars to kill time. Check in was simple and walked to our rooms by friendly staff. Rooms - Our rooms were spacious and beds comfy, air con great and welcomed as it was way hotter than I anticipated! Had an outside area with table.and chairs. We had the most basic accommodation and were pleasantly surprised by it. Storage a bit lacking but there were three of us who needed to hang stuff. Would probably be fine for 2 or with less clothes! Rooms cleaned most days to a good standard. Food - varied and delicious and the themed nights were great. Good variety of traditional, plus pizza and pasta to keep everyone happy. Fresh fruit and salad at every meal and food available pretty much all day! Staff very attentive and friendly, Chef John always happy to chat! I believe there is something for everyone although my two veggie kids didnt have as much choice this was to be expected and they never went hungry! However, we are non fussy, very chilled eaters who will give anything a go! Drinks - standard all inclusive drinks, beer, gin and wine ok, did the job! Cocktails were gross, way too sweet for me but the kids loved the mocktails! I wish there was less sugary syrups used! Facilities - 3 pools, all maintained well and with ample sunbeds. Waterfront lush, fairly easy to get a kayak or paddleboard, great snorkelling and the sea was beautiful. Little aqua bounce thing which mine enjoyed. Gym did the job too, enough for a half decent workout! Entertainment - Not for us! Aimed at younger kids and so we didn't really bother. If cabarets etc your thing it might not be the place for you! However the staff worked tirelessly and from what we could see got the children fully involved. Typical daily activities, again not for us although we did aqua aerobics once which was alright...again very enthusiastic staff! Few downsides - sunbed bagging is rife!! Its definitely a case of you snooze you lose for prime spots around the pools and waterfront but more available later in the day! Resort is quieter than some and getting to places requires a bit of effort but it didnt stop us at all. No hire car needed, but we could get around by walking to Milna, bus to Supetar and taxi to Bol. Smoking!! Can't bear it myself and although rooms and food area cigarette free all communal places aren't and the smell of cigarettes was pretty grim when swimming. I get that its more common in Croatia but it gave me the ick! Overall this is a wonderful resort made all the better by friendly staff and a lovely area. If I didnt have a thing about always trying somewhere different we have all said we would all go again! Its also worth noting that our holiday was less expensive than I anticpated so very good value for money IMO.

We absolutely loved our family holiday at Gava Waterman Resort. The location was perfect (a bit isolated from the crowds), the accommodation was better than expected and shown on the website and just right in terms of size for 2 adults and 2 children, we stayed in a forest cottage. We adored the variety of activities at the waterfront: paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming aaround the bay, snorkling, diving and jumping from the inflatable waterpark...the sea was absolutely stunning. The staff all friendly and great at their jobs: the animation team led by Yury, the big kitchen team with Cristian and big bad John, the meals they prepared were all delicious and fresh...the waiters and bar staff always welcoming and helful. The photos on the website do not do it justice, the place is stunning and we traveled with 2 kids, one a teen and they all find stuff to do and did not want to leave. There were lots of teens at the resort.

Big thumbs up for Big Johns Chilli!! Catered extremely well for our kids who are coeliac - fresh prepared meals each day ordered the day before with the chef. No ask to big or small. 10/10

We stayed at Gava Waterman Milna Resort during the high season as a family of two adults and a four-year-old child. Unfortunately, considering the price we paid, the overall experience was extremely disappointing and, in our opinion, nowhere near the standard one should expect at this level. I want to start with the positives, because there were some. The staff were genuinely kind, friendly and helpful, and this was probably the best part of our stay. Most employees we interacted with were pleasant and did their best to assist whenever possible. The resort also has a beautiful location on Brač, surrounded by nature and the sea, which gives it great potential. Unfortunately, almost everything else fell far below our expectations. The biggest disappointment was definitely the food. For an all-inclusive resort in this price category, both the quality and variety were surprisingly poor. Many dishes were extremely greasy, sometimes literally swimming in oil. The selection was limited and repetitive, and some cold cuts looked as though they had been sitting out for too long and were unappetising. We were also disappointed by the lack of focus on Croatian and Dalmatian cuisine. When visiting Brač, we expected at least some emphasis on local food and regional specialities. Instead, there were often attempts at international dishes such as Indian or Mexican cuisine, but they were not particularly authentic or well prepared. At the same time, simple, fresh Mediterranean and local options were noticeably lacking, which felt like a missed opportunity given the location. The all-inclusive drinks were another letdown. Many of the soft drinks tasted overly artificial, with very little difference between flavours. We expected better quality at this level. The rooms were very basic and felt almost empty in terms of amenities. There was no kettle, no slippers, and very limited bathroom toiletries. These may seem like small details, but they do matter and are usually expected in a resort of this category. The housekeeping staff were very kind, but they also appeared to be overworked and understaffed. On several occasions, our room was serviced quite late in the day. This seems more like an organisational issue than a reflection on the staff themselves, who were clearly doing their best. Overall, the main issue is the value for money. At a lower price, some of these shortcomings might be more acceptable, but at this level of cost, expectations are naturally much higher. Guests should be able to expect good-quality food, a varied buffet, decent drinks, properly equipped rooms and a consistent level of service. The location and the kindness of the staff cannot compensate for the poor food, disappointing drinks, lack of basic room amenities and the overall feeling that the resort is priced above the experience it delivers. I rarely write such a negative review, but I think future guests should know what to expect. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Gava Waterman Milna Resort at its current price point. The resort has great potential because of its location and staff, but significant improvements are needed – especially in food quality, drinks, room amenities and overall value for money – before it can match guest expectations.

A fantastic holiday location. The service and the welcome is so warm and friendly. The resort is based by the sea (which is amazing for swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking etc, also has inflatable slides). Close to Milna - lovely 2k walk there. Main highlight for me was the outstanding food served daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner (and plenty of snacks throughout the day too!). The chefs work tirelessly to provide such a wonderful array of delicious meals. Fantastic location once you get there. Clean and tidy. Lovely atmosphere. All staff are amazing and welcoming. Would highly recommend.
