Hotel Cvita

Whilst I agree with other reviews this is not a 4 star establishment, I did enjoy my stay here. Hotel Cvita does not market itself as being on the doorstep of the Old Town, and it’s quite clear when you look on the map. We were content with that when we booked the hotel, and it was approximately 20-30 minute walk into Town which we enjoyed. Though to be mindful, those travelling with luggage or small children that the walk to the hotel is mostly up hill so in the heat can get quite intense! The staff were polite and helpful. Our room was large but the furniture was really dated! Looked like it had come from my grandmas house a few decades ago. If you need a soft mattress, be aware ours was not. The bathroom on the other hand was incredibly modern, and we had a large bath which was brilliant. The room also had aircon which is a must!! I ordered room service for no extra charge than the meal itself and it was tasty. The breakfast included pastries, bread, yoghurt, sausage/bacon mix, eggplant (maybe!), eggs, fruit and an assortment of meats and cheeses. Definitely something for everyone to give them something to start the day. The inside and outdoor pools are both lovely. There is a small bar section outside and during our time the staff manning it were very quick. They do not go around the pool offering but if you go to them they’ll bring it over to your lounger. They can also arrange pick up and drop off to the airport for €65, higher than Bolt in the area but less likely to cancel! Overall, if you don’t mind some questionable decor and abit of a walk, it’s a good hotel.

All I can say is if you're heading to Split and looking for a quiet location and a hotel that just oozes charm and elegance book Hotel Cvita. Set on a hillside overlooking the sea, some twenty minutes walk from the Old Town we were met by warm friendly reception staff, who showed us to our room and helped with our bags. The room itself was vast, extra kingsize bed, furnished as a suite and with an absolutely superb bathroom - each!! Balcony views over the bay were incredible and we spent many hours just soaking up the atmosphere. The style is old world charm and beautifully presented throughout - and this is my main point - this hotel is almost clinically clean in all areas, food and service excellent, all to a soft background of smooth jazz , yes even at breakfast! So thanks to all the staff for an unforgettable experience, my advice would be just go there!!

Way better than we expected. Indoor, outdoor pools, gym and sauna, all immaculate. The rooms were spacious overlooking the sea and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful hotel in Split. The marina and beach were a 20-30 minute walk from the hotel. We could see the Adriatic Sea from our balcony. The room was clean and the staff were friendly.

I keep changing my mind about whether or not to write this review. But here goes. Hotel Cvita, I’m sorry to say, is NOT a four-star hotel. Anyone expecting the hotel to fulfil expectations on that basis will be left bitterly disappointed and shortchanged. The pictures are incredibly misleading. The food was passable but everything about the hotel seemed a little cramped, dingy and unclean. The staff are pleasant but seem a little disinterested and disengaged. We weren’t necessarily made to feel welcome, just a couple of steps above tolerated. Also, BEWARE the sudden tourist tax (probably in the fine print somewhere) that will be applied at the end of your stay without any pre-warning. The hotel we stayed in Zadar, by contrast, was a lot more upfront about this in the booking. I want to make absolutely clear that it’s not a reflection of the country or the people - both are utterly fantastic and warm. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed central Split and Hvar. However, with the benefit of hindsight, we wouldn’t come here again. We’d recommend staying in the actual city centre or in one of the adjoining beach hotels (trust me, you don’t want the walk back to Hotel Cvita with sand in your swim shorts).
