Hotel Park

Overall we had a very enjoyable stay at Hotel Park. The location is excellent, the rooms were lovely, the pool area is great and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was perfectly adequate with plenty of choice, lunch at the bar was good, although we found the evening buffet fairly average — especially considering how many excellent local restaurants Makarska has to offer. The only real frustration was the sun lounger situation. The hotel has a policy about unattended loungers not being reserved for long periods, however this appeared to function more as an aspirational concept than an actively enforced rule. This led to the usual morning ritual of towels and random personal artefacts apparently enjoying full pool privileges long before their owners arrived. A little more consistent management of this would make a big difference to the overall pool experience. We did get loungers a couple of times and found lovely shaded beach spots other times. We had a lovely stay overall and would happily return. Hotel Park is a great base for exploring Makarska and the surrounding area.

Have stayed here for a week now. Fabulous hotel, great location, rooms very comfortable, spacious and spotless. Hats off to housekeeping! Went half board very disappointed food whilst good selection very basic not 4 star quality. Staff could not do enough for you very helpful. Highlight of the stay was the amazing Eva in the hotel Spa!! I really hope you know what a valuable & talented employee you have with her. I had three visits to the spa for the medical massage and she is the best I have ever visited!!!! I would return to the hotel just to visit her.

Stayed at this hotel as part of a group with Sunway Travel. Lovely modern hotel, practically on the beach. Rooms & facilities all fine. My main issue was with the restaurant/food. It is more like a canteen with self service for breakfast & dinner. OK I can deal with that. But serving lukewarm food is not acceptable. They also need to sort out their system for providing tea/coffee. Queuing up, cup in hand for some hot water for a breakfast cuppa is not how I want to start my day. Thankfully there are lovely restaurants nearby, but having paid for half board it was very disappointing to have to shell out more money for a decent meal.

Hotel Park Makarska September 2025 2 star hotel masquerading as a 4 star. It might have 24 hour reception, en suite and other 4* requirements but a hotel where you can't get a sun bed, no fresh towels are available mid afternoon and the buffet evening meal consists of poor quality cheap cuts of meat. We have holidayed in Italy and Sardinia, since Covid, all meals were well presented and well cooked al la carte. This hotel provided a buffet Half Board that was really disappointing. We ate out for 3 nights. I wish I'd read all the back reviews as this lack of sun beds and poor quality food appears to be a common theme from other reviews.

A very disappointing stay at this hotel recently. I would class it as a three star, and not above. I also think there has been some very clever marketing for the website which gives a false representation in some cases. We certainly saw no linen on the tables, morning or evening. It was just like a canteen. The public area in reception is not filled with numerous comfy chairs, but taken up mostly with chunky foam modular seating. Specific: The evening meal was very mediocre and comprised of lukewarm food which we collected on plates which were cold. Not very tasty, although the salmon did taste of soap! We greatly missed the variety which is generally available when we travel in Europe, especially tasty fresh salads. After two nights, we decided to cut our losses and use our holiday spends to eat out and have our evening meal in town. The ‘hot’ food at breakfast was in a similar vein and was lukewarm and again on cold plates. The layout of the dining room encompasses far too many tables and it was often very difficult to navigate our way back to our table. The allocation of sun beds around the pool was ill thought out too. There is no-one monitoring the situation and it was very chaotic. The sun beds are unlocked at 8am and, even if we queued up just after 7am, we weren’t always guaranteed one of them. On one afternoon, I counted 33 sun beds with towels on them and only 4 people in the pool, leaving 29 unused but not available for others. The only alternative is to pay 12 Euros each per day for a sun bed on a small packed beach in front of the hotel, with no shade. Also, the pool bar was closed for the entire duration of our holiday. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. It’s a great pity to be so disappointed when holidays are so precious. This hotel seems more interested in cramming in as many people as possible in order to make as much money as it can. Their facilities do not match up to the number of rooms in the hotel.
