Hotel Plaza Duce

Pros: Hotel was great. Lovely staff, food, pool, next to the beach, room great very spacious in the 2nd tier. Bus system great and very cheap for getting around. Everything with hotel apart from the beach beds, amazing, would stay in the hotel again. Cons: The hotel charges guests €30 for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella... I get you have to pay but this is ridiculous, €120 for 4 days on the beach. It's an hour bus ride from Split. It is not a 20 minute walk to Omis... its more like a holiday walk of 40, and if you're slow it's 60. It's nearly 2 miles on the beach path or 10 mins on the bus. Omis is very small and just full of restaurants that are all the same. No real tourist sites. All of the good boat trips go from Split. There is nothing around the hotel, when they say local restaurants they mean beach bars and beach pizzerias, so if you like to get a bit dressy and have a restaurant style meal, then not for you. IT'S EXPENSIVE. €40 min for a bottle of wine, €11 min for a basic cocktail, fish €30, pizza and pasta €16 to 25, a pint €5 to 7. Ferry from Split to an island €100 return for 2. Advice: Go to Italy or Spain... far more developed and way more reasonable. If you must go to Croatia then stay in Split near a beach. This is where everything is, restaurants, connecting transport services, ferry's, sights, better prices and many more options.

Just back from the Hotel Plaza and what a great hotel. The overwhelming feature is just how friendly and helpful all the staff were, from reception, restaurant staff, housekeeping and pool service staff. It is also spotless. Rooms are very well provided for, we were on floor 9 which took 3 lifts to get to, something of a novelty. Tea and coffee facilities, nice balcony, brilliant rainforest shower and a safe that you open and close with the room car, no faffing about with entering a code. Restaurant was a great experience. I've read some detrimental reviews about the food but we could not fault the selection and quality at breakfast and dinner. Plenty of fresh fruit. Some nonsense has also been written on Tripadvisor about leftovers being served the next day is rubbish. And the staff were superb, friendly and helpful. Wines were on the pricey side and bottle water had to be paid for but that's quite the norm now in hotels. Pool area was brilliant, plenty of beds ( it was too hot for us with the heatwave so great to go back to our AC room.) There is a beach opposite with a decent bar run by the hotel. We didn't use the sunbeds there. They are 15 euros each for the day. I know its a public beach and the charge might be to deter the campsite adjacent to the beach in using the beds and you only need to go 50m either side of the hotel beach to find beds at 5 euros. The hotel is about a 45 min walk to Omis along the coast path and also a half hourly bus service between Omis and Split too. Cheap bus fares too! Split and Trogir definitely worth visiting. All in all a lovely stay at the Plaza and would no hesitation in returning to this excellent hotel. Thank you for a great stay

What an amazing hotel. It had everything. We had a room with a seaview on the 7th floor. What a pleasure it was to wake up to the view every morning The food was perfect and breakfast had a wide variety of choices Loved the beach , for a small cost, you get a lot of amenities and that cold towel every day was very welcome around 4pm The staff were so friendly and I heard they had worked there for years . It has to be up there as the best hotel we have been to 😃

From the moment we arrived at Hotel Plaža Duće, the exceptional service began. We were greeted with huge smiles at reception, and the staff took the time to explain everything clearly. Nothing was ever too much trouble, whether it was arranging a taxi or helping us book a river cruise. We stayed in room 807, which had a fantastic view that we thoroughly enjoyed, especially in the mornings and late afternoons. The breakfast selection was excellent, with a wide variety of options to suit everyone, and once again, the staff were friendly, attentive, and always happy to help. The pool and spacious sunbed area provided the perfect place to relax and unwind throughout our stay. We would highly recommend Hotel Plaža Duće to anyone visiting the Omiš area – a wonderful hotel with outstanding service and a truly welcoming atmosphere.

This hotel genuinely has no faults in my opinion; the staff, the food, the cleanliness, the facilities, and the location are all perfect for a relaxed holiday. We arrived around two hours before the usual check‑in time and were welcomed so warmly. Our room happened to be ready, which kicked the holiday off beautifully. And the reception smells unreal… I’d bottle it if I could. We stayed on a B&B basis and the breakfast was outstanding. The hot and cold buffet was fresh, varied, and absolutely delicious. Every member of staff was friendly, smiling, and couldn’t do enough for us. We used Ubers to visit Omiš, the nearest town; highly recommend for dinner and to take in the stunning scenery. That said, the hotel’s own lunch and dinner options were fabulous too. The pasta and wine I had one evening were some of the best I’ve had outside Italy. Special shout‑out to the Sauvignon Blanc “Brid” highly recommend 😋 Spend a day at the beach across the road if you can. The hotel loungers come at a small cost but are absolutely worth it - beach bar, cold face towels, swings, hammocks… what more do you need. We had a small medical incident during our stay & the reception staff went above & beyond to help us. Truly exceptional service. We leave today at 6pm & even though check‑out is at midday, the hotel have encouraged us to use all facilities until departure. After a few hours by the pool, we’ll be using the indoor spa to freshen up before heading off. Thank you for a magical Croatian experience 🇭🇷 We only came for three nights this time, but we’re already planning our return and bringing friends so they can enjoy the same incredible stay we’ve had.
