Valamar Meteor Hotel

Lovely hotel with beach access. Had both indoor & outdoor pool. Also has a spa if you want to book treatments. Food is Buffet style with plenty of choice. Entertainment each evening & plenty of activities for children. Staff are polite & attentive. Highly recommend a visit.

I was very disappointed with the lack of proper food labeling at the hotel restaurant. There were no clear declarations indicating what type of meat was being served — whether it was pork, beef, chicken, or something else. This is completely unacceptable for a hotel of this category. Guests have the right to know what they are eating, especially those with dietary restrictions, allergies, or religious considerations. The absence of such basic information shows a serious lack of attention to detail and respect for guests. I strongly urge the management to address this issue immediately and ensure proper labeling and transparency in the future.

I expected much more from a Valamar hotel, considering the reputation the brand tries to maintain. Unfortunately, my stay was a huge disappointment. The rooms are tiny, and the so-called “double bed” is actually just two small single beds pushed together, leaving an uncomfortable gap right in the middle — definitely not what you’d expect from a hotel of this category. The pillows are old, worn out, and covered with some kind of plastic pillowcase that makes sleeping very unpleasant. The bathroom is outdated, with greenish stains and visible mold — clearly not properly cleaned or maintained. The pool area looks completely neglected, with dirty sunbeds and an overall sense of poor upkeep. On top of that, the minibar was completely empty, which just adds to the feeling of poor service and lack of attention to detail. Overall, this hotel fails to meet even basic expectations of cleanliness and comfort, let alone the level of quality Valamar hotels are supposed to represent. It seriously needs renovation, better management, and a complete rethink of its hygiene standards.

The hotel Meteor 4 is really good for family and couples. Breakfast and dinner were amazing. There is in the buffet something for everyone and really special local cheese and cakes. We have visited there now three times! I will recomend this and you 'll have a best holiday. The rooms were great and clean. The parking space was nicely close to the hotel. The evening shows were nice and children area was nice too.

Where do I start. What s fantastic hotel . Couldn't fault anything except it was a bit hot when we arrived snd the air con was turned off because of the bora winds the week previously. We found the room hot of a night and we got bit but other than that it was perfect. Location central to everything including bus station to get to places . Makarska old town and port 10 min walk its beautiful. The food was 5star best half board option we have had. Staff where excellent had great service and really friendly. Really had the most lovely relaxing week here. Makarska is a gem of a place .
