Aminess Style Camping Avalona Resort

We stayed at the campsite for a week on a camping pitch with a pool and feel totally ripped off. We had to clean our own pitch before we could set up our camp. The shop stocks nothing to make an actual meal. It’s all snacks and drinks. The staff were not friendly, we felt like an inconvenience to them. They were rude in particular in the Reasturants, shop and bike store. You have to pay for everything extra and prices are extortionate. You cannot get a taxi to leave the resort unless you go through their own taxi service and it was €58 for a 6 minute journey one way! The bike we hired from two very rude women working in there gave us a bike with a flat tyre and a chain that kept falling off every time you went into a low gear. Service was extremely slow. They tried charging us double price for a couple of nights, so keep an eye on your tab. Lots of the 5% discounts you are meant to receive when paying with your bravely weren’t always honoured on the final bill. Felt very trapped and ripped off. Pool is fun, there isn’t ever a life guard on duty so lots of carnage amongst the slides. Weeds everywhere. Had to queue for showers most evenings. Bakery never had anything in, despite being called ‘freshly baked’ despite getting there early and returning several times a morning. It was always empty. Far from a 5* resort.

The parcel wasn’t cleared of weeds, there is no lifeguard or anyone supervising the slide in the water park, the restaurants in the camp are very poor (food is below average and prices are high). Cars drive through the camp after 10 PM (nobody enforces house rules). The only shop in the camp is extremely poorly stocked. There’s literally none of the camping equipment, and the selection of meat and other products is exceedingly poor. Prices are literally double compared to other shops on the island. Upon departure, the employee issued us a bill with too high an amount twice. We had to file a complaint not just once, but twice."

The resort all in all is pretty decent, but Restaurant has upset me ,because we Order Sandwiches and after more then 20 mins the waiter told us that they don't have bread anymore. After we decided to go He told us to come Back, but little that I know they Hade the Sandwich with an other Sort of bread. My Burger was the wrong too and when you want to pay you should not bei wondered If you wait more than 15 mins. Really really Bad Service.

Beautiful place but to far away from everything. For a daytrip, in our case with a retal car from the airport, first you have to drive many kilometers over, even they locals call it 'the moon'. Very boring landscape. Only rocks.... Avalona has a nice mini supermarket but with higher prices. In Povljana is also a supermarket but for a bigger one you must go to Pag, about 17 km. (20 min.) Avalona is clearly a higher category accommodation with the corresponding prices. We were out of season and paid for our mobile home for one week and two persons € 785, -. In high season you pay, according to the Avalona website more than € 4,000, - (!). We had a beautiful mobile home with private swimmingpool, about 50 mtrs. from the see. The first morningfew with the sun coming up was gorgeous. Brand new mobile homes because Avalona is just open for the 2nd season. Cars are not allowed but there is a private and secured parking place by the entrance of Avalona. 24hrs free transportation to your accommodation with a golfcart. Very nice staff, I cannot understand people complaining about them! So, what Avalona concerns we absolutely would like to come again but because of the location we will look for another place next time, sorry Avalona..
