We had booked a twin room, but when we arrived we were given what was clearly a double. Only after we asked to be moved did we discover that the hotel’s idea of a “twin” is simply two single beds pushed together to act as a double. That rather defeats the purpose of booking separate beds. The hotel advertises a 24/7 reception desk, yet most of the time there was nobody there. We often had to wait around just to find someone to speak to. Cleanliness and presentation were a consistent issue. The entrance to the hotel was surrounded by restaurant supplies, hardly a welcoming first impression. Linen cleaning bags were left in the hallway all day, as though housekeeping had simply given up. Inside the room, the towels were stained, the bathroom mat was frayed, and the shower was so small you couldn’t turn around without hitting the taps. Most concerning of all, there was a clearly visible bloodstain on the bed sheet when we arrived. When we asked for it to be replaced, they simply removed the sheet and didn’t put on a clean one. The location could make this an excellent place to stay, but the lack of basic standards, hygiene and professionalism made it impossible to enjoy our visit. I would not return and cannot recommend it.

Do not go here for food, the way the staff/owners come across is nice but in reality are very rude and unhelpful. Awful food (as said in a lot of other reviews) doused in oil, clearly frozen, and overpriced. And if you try to speak to staff about it the reaction is ‘that’s how we do it here’ Awful experience, no sympathy, expensive bill - came away hungry and needing a drink. To add: Told me calamari is fried and in rings, was given huge chunks of octopus leaving my plate drowning in oil. Spoke to waiter and he couldn’t care less, also heard him explain to another woman it is what I said it should be and when I caught his eye and gave him a look he laughed and walked in the opposite direction. Wouldn't bother at this restaraunt.. its mainly deep fried food and you could get a better meal at your local pub. Prices are up there for poor quality food

I stayed here for one night at the end of a group tour and it was a terrible experience. I'd seen the negative reviews and was anxious about my stay, but finding a bed bug infestation in my room at 11pm at night was an unexpected nightmare. Staff did not seem surprised when I raised the issue and I was given a new room, however it was 2 rooms away from the original and I did not feel safe or comfortable staying here given the level of infestation in the original room. This experience risked my health , belongings, and the remainder of my holiday so I absolutely do not recommend this hotel.

I had a single room, and I suppose it's fair quality for a 3 star hotel. (Note- no kettle provided, but there is a fridge). It's a nice location, only a short walk to the ocean, and also a short walk to get the #6 bus to the Old Town. The restaurant has reasonably priced dinners (burger and chips €15), but they get you on the drinks (€5 for a small coke zero). However... the air-conditioning rattles, the bathroom exhaust fan sounds like a jet engine, and worst of all is that my room must be above the kitchen, because all evening I hear loud banging which must be them pounding meat.
