We spent three unforgettable days in Dubrovnik, and the Bellevue Hotel played a major role in making our trip a success. We had booked a deluxe double room with sea view which was absolutely gorgeous. The hotel is situated in an incredible spot overlooking a wonderful cove, only a 12 minutes walk from the Pile gate of Dubrovnik. But what makes the hotel truly amazing is its staff. The staff at the reception and the breakfast area were extremely warm and attentive throughout our stay. Ivana, Josip, Stejpann at the reception and the ladies and gentlemen in the breakfast area went beyond their way to keep us happy during our stay. Another standout feature is the superb breakfast. A great selection of high quality ingredients offered in a spacious room with an astonishing view. Another asset of the hotel is the valet parking. Unfortunately we did not have time to use the spa but I am sure we will use it next time we visit Dubrovnik because we will stay again in Bellevue! Hvala for the wonderful experience.

Currently midway through a four-night stay at Hotel Bellevue, I feel well placed to offer a thoughtful and honest perspective for future travellers. Set around a 15 to 30 minute walk from Dubrovnik’s Old Town, the hotel strikes a welcome balance. It is close enough to access the historic centre with ease, yet far enough removed to enjoy genuine peace and quiet. After experiencing the intensity of the Old Town crowds, returning here feels like a retreat. Our experience began on a strong note thanks to Antonela in reservations, who arranged a seamless airport transfer. Our driver, Dahoo, a Dubrovnik native, was exceptional. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly proud of his city. That first impression set the tone. Service throughout the hotel has been consistently warm and genuine. Every member of staff we’ve encountered has been kind and accommodating, reflective of Croatian hospitality more broadly. The hotel itself is architecturally interesting, split across two connected buildings. The main building houses key amenities including beach access via lift, spa, gym, and some rooms, while the adjoining structure is linked by a separate glass lift, adding a slightly modern and almost cinematic touch to moving between spaces. We booked a Superior Room and received exactly that. While we had been advised ahead of our stay that we would have a VIP experience, in reality the stay has felt very much like a standard booking. There was no upgrade, which is of course never guaranteed, but it is worth noting for those who may be given similar expectations. The room itself is comfortable and in line with European standards, well appointed but not extraordinary. A highlight for my wife was the premium bathroom products, which are indeed from a high end brand. Housekeeping has been generally good, though not flawless. We did have to call for towels one day. This was quickly resolved, but worth noting for those expecting absolute precision. The balcony view is a standout feature, with dramatic cliffs and uninterrupted sea views during the day. However, a small but notable oversight is the lack of lighting on the balcony at night, which makes it unusable after sunset. This is something the hotel could easily improve. The spa facilities are pleasant, with a pool, jacuzzi, and loungers all benefiting from the same stunning coastal outlook. The sauna and steam room are located separately and are quite compact, comfortably fitting 2 to 4 people, though during our visit they were quiet enough to enjoy privately. The gym is a clear weak point. Opening at 8am, it does not cater to early risers, and the equipment is minimal. For serious fitness enthusiasts, this is not a suitable setup and should be factored into your decision. The beach area is beautiful but not private, despite what some listings may suggest. On sunny days, it attracts visitors beyond hotel guests, which can lead to a livelier and at times noisier atmosphere than expected. Families and groups of teenagers were present during our stay, so those seeking total tranquillity may prefer the hotel’s terrace instead. Speaking of the terrace, it is well designed with loungers and space to relax. However, visiting in April during the Easter period, there were no food or drink services available on the beach. Given the warm weather, this felt like a missed opportunity and is something the hotel should address, even with a limited seasonal offering. Where the hotel truly excels is its food and beverage experience. Breakfast is exceptional, varied, high quality, and catering to both healthy and indulgent preferences. The kitchen also deserves credit for flexibility. When I requested fries that were not on the menu, the staff happily accommodated. Cocktails are creative and beautifully crafted, although on the expensive side. Final Verdict: 4/5 Hotel Bellevue offers a refined and scenic stay with outstanding service and excellent food. However, there are a few operational gaps, particularly around expectations of a VIP experience, the gym, beach services, and minor room details, that prevent it from reaching a full five star experience. Trip Advice: • Ideal for couples or travellers seeking a quieter base near Dubrovnik’s Old Town • Do not rely on potential upgrades or VIP mentions, treat your booking as standard unless clearly confirmed • Not suited for serious gym users or those wanting a private beach experience • Consider seasonality, as some amenities like beach service may not be available in shoulder months • Request details about room features such as balcony lighting if that matters to your stay A beautiful hotel with genuine charm, just a few refinements away from being exceptional.

From the moment we stepped into the lobby, a sense of calm took over. Hotel Bellevue isn't just a place to stay; it’s an experience. We were incredibly lucky to be upgraded to a sea-view room, which made our holiday feel even more exclusive as we were celebrating my husband’s 50th. Looking out at the Adriatic every morning was a highlight we won't soon forget. The staff at reception and the concierge are true professionals. They flawlessly organized a day trip to Montenegro for us, including seamless pick-up and drop-off. Since we had an early start, they even packed a breakfast for us to take on the go! It’s the small details that set this hotel apart: • Turndown Service: Coming back to chocolates on the bedside tables • Local Tradition: Being there during Easter, we were touched to receive traditional Easter eggs and bread via room service. • Amenities: I much preferred the high-quality hand wash dispensers at the sink over the standard (and often messy) soap bars found in most hotels. The jacuzzi and swimming pool were brilliant—perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the city walls. Thank you to the entire team for making our holiday so special. We can’t wait to come back!
