Hotel More

Was not expecting the poor service, room service came T 9:30 and when we told them we were still getting ready they went away and didn’t come back to make room up or tidy room even though we were out all day. Was not expecting the lack of bottled drinking water which is usually complimentary We got one bottle which was never replaced had to go to the bar and pay for bottled water at €6 per bottle, which should have been free, Also the hotel is built into the cliff with gate access to walkways and promenade, all of the entry buzzers were not working and we spent 20 minutes trying to get back into the hotel at 10pm . This is not the level of service I would expect, can’t fault the views but won’t be back

I had high expectations of Hotel More, sadly this was not lived up too. Certainly not a 5* hotel in my view. I don’t usually write reviews, but feel a review is needed. Advertised as an adult only (or 14+), there was a young family there which is false advertising. They were in the pool and at breakfast The hotel is across two buildings relying on lifts to move between the hotel, really confusing and not great for accessibility Looked like the wellness was part of the hotel, it’s a different company. I found this out when I went for my massage, and was told I can only use cash (don’t know who has a lot of cash on them as a tourist), asked can I add it to my to my room and was told it’s separate to the hotel! The room wasn’t great; very very dry air which didn’t help me sleep at night. Couldn’t leave the window open due to the noise levels. Noise levels throughout our time late at night and early morning; some of this was staff. No consideration this was a holiday! Breakfast wasn’t of 5* quality On the positives • great location and cheap taxi into old town • great views from cave bar and hotel restaurants including breakfast • the sunset are amazing I feel the views make it higher than the actual quality of the hotel

I've given 5 stars as I can't give 4.5 stars for some small things short of the mark. The hotel is in a great location for the views and the promenade that runs in front of it. It's not located near the old city, so be prepared to use transport unless you want an hour walk along busy roads (we did it once which was enough as it's very hilly). The room itself was very vice with a good sized, comfortable bed and AC and plenty of storage space and a safe. The shower was "adequate" but the towels were really disappointing considering this is a 5 star hotel, rough, thin and hard. Also, if there was an extractor fan (couldn't hear one) then it didn't work very well. There was a coffee machine in the room and pods but we didn't use it - no kettle and tea option which for us was a minus and unusual. The hotel is spread over two interconnecting buildings and built into the hill face. It is definitely the most confusing hotel to navigate we have ever stayed in. There are 5 different lifts, some of which don't go to all floors and in our short (4 day) stay we really didn't master getting where we wanted to go without error once. The signage in the corridors and by the lifts was plentiful but still confusing. Breakfast was in one of the 2 restaurants and up to the standards you would expect with a good spread of hot and cold foods. It even had sparkling wine if you wanted it. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was a hot tub and pool and a spa offering lots of pampering options. Overall we enjoyed the stay and would recommend it (as long as you don't get easily frustrated by going in the wrong direction!)

Our room was an inner room, on the first floor with no view. It was very difficult to get around the hotel. Would not recommend.

More like 4 stars than 5 at present but it has potential based on good sea views and reasonably convenient location. The service can be erratic, with disgruntled waiting staff (tired?) and chaotic at breakfast time. Communication can be difficult at times as some staff don’t speak other languages well. A La carte breakfast orders get lost, they run out of clean cups and glasses, etc. I kept picking up rotten fruit out of bowls at breakfast - that’s a cardinal sin at any hotel, let alone 5 star… Food and drinks are very overpriced for the standard - though the portions tend to be generous. In-room hot drink making facilities are limited to a basic coffee machine that makes lukewarm coffee out of capsules… the pools are tiny - four-five strokes in one , two or three in the top one - though you do have a lovely sea view and a jacuzzi.
