A good hotel! Not sure why there are so many negative reviews! The staff were lovely and very accommodating. They allowed us to check out late on our last day with no extra cost. The rooms were spotlessly cleaned and well equipped. Tea making facilities, as well as a bowl of fruit of arrival which was a nice touch. The breakfast options were fantastic! So much choice and continually being topped up. The spa facilities are probably the best part of the hotel! To no extra cost you can freely use the spa (includes a pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and ice bath). There are also massages available on request which are to a cost. The spa is really modern and probably the best we have seen in an all inclusive hotel. The location was also brilliant. A 10 min scenic walk into Cavtat town and the most gorgeous beach right outside the gates. The outside pool and loungers are also lovely. Obviously the hotel was quieter due to the off-season but I really recommend it. We will definitely be coming back. Please do not listen to the negative reviews!

We had a lovely 10-day stay at Hotel Albatros and really enjoyed our holiday. Our room was clean, comfortable and well looked after throughout our stay. The food was good, with a nice variety of choices, so we always had something different to enjoy. The location was also beautiful, and we enjoyed spending time at the hotel and exploring the surrounding area. A special thank you to Antonio at reception, who was absolutely wonderful. He was friendly, welcoming and always ready to help with a smile. His kindness and professionalism made us feel very welcome and added to our enjoyable stay. Thank you to all the staff at Hotel Albatros for making our 10 days so pleasant. We would happily recommend the hotel and would love to come back again. ❤️

We have just returned from a 9-day stay at Hotel Albatros. I was a little worried after reading some of the reviews before our stay, but we actually found the hotel to be very good and, in our opinion, great value for money. Our room was clean and comfortable. We paid extra for a superior sea-view room and, in my opinion, it was worth it. The room was tidied and cleaned daily, with the bedding and towels changed a couple of times during our stay. The view from our balcony was fantastic. We were on the 4th floor, but I think any of the pool/sea-view rooms would give you the same beautiful view. We also chose to pay for the all-inclusive option, as it seemed reasonably priced and wasn’t much more than B&B or half board. We never intended to eat every meal at the hotel (and, in fact, we ate out every evening), but in my view the all-inclusive option was still great value as we enjoyed many lovely lunches. I love salads, and there was always a good choice on offer. There was also always meat, fish and cheese to choose from, as well as plenty of fresh fruit, cakes and ice cream. If that’s not your thing, the snack bar, which was open from 4–6pm, offered chicken nuggets, sandwiches, cakes, etc. each day — more processed-type food, but for a quick snack. Breakfast was plentiful, with a good selection of food catering for different nationalities and tastes. Some people have commented that the staff aren’t very friendly, but we found everyone to be polite, helpful and friendly. I do think that, as one reviewer pointed out quite correctly, treating others as you wish to be treated goes a long way! The pool area was lovely and clean. Each morning and evening, I watched the hotel team reorganising all the sunbeds and parasols and thoroughly cleaning the pool area. Glass cups and bottles aren’t allowed around the pool, for obvious safety reasons, which I think is perfectly fair. Cavtat is absolutely beautiful, and the hotel is around a 15-minute easy stroll away. There are lots of lovely restaurants in Cavtat, which we really enjoyed visiting each evening. Overall, I would definitely return to Cavtat and to Hotel Albatros. We had a lovely stay and felt that the hotel offered good value for money. Having now experienced it for ourselves, I do think some of the reviews on here are a little harsh and don’t reflect our experience at all.

Having booked the hotel in June and then reading some of the reviews in August, I must say I was getting worried I'd done the wrong thing. I needn't have worried. I would love to know where the negative reviewers usually go on holiday if they think this hotel is so bad. Firstly the starring system is based on what the hotel has to offer not peoples perceived idea of quality. There are two outdoor pools, a fantastic indoor pool, a Sauna and a very well equipped gym. There is a children's play area and Plenty of sunbeds. We found the hotel very clean, our room was spacious and the free safe was a nice touch. We find we usually have to pay for one. We found all the staff very pleasant, a smile and a hello from us seemed to get the same response in return. The view from the hotel is one of the best we've ever stayed in. The location to Cavtat is great and the ferry to Dubrovnik is just a short walk from the hotel. Now don't get me wrong all is not perfect. The dining room can get busy at breakfast and dinner. It would be nice to have some kind of fruit juice at breakfast rather than sparkling orange drink. Food can sometimes be slow to be replaced. The AI drinks are not the best we've experienced but are tolerable. The beer is not as good as you get from the bars outside of the hotel. The wine we found perfectly drinkable, if not very strong. The Whiskey is pretty ropey. I did order a top brand one night and unlike in Spain you only get a small measure, where as the AI Whiskey they give you a good measure. I found the G&T pretty good, if just a bit sweet. I must say we found the food to be great. If you don't like salad with your food, you may struggle. There was always a couple of meat, which were well cooked and tasty. There was always fish, for those who like it. I didn't try it as if there is a meat option that's always my preference. We were there for 5 days and there was Pizza served on two of those days. Chips were only served on one day, but there was always potatoes of some description which were very tasty. There was also pasta and rice. We found the desserts great too. Unlike in Spain where they all look appetising but all taste the same. These looked appetising and actually tasted like they should. So, all in all we thought this hotel was great, if you're prepared for the fact it's going to be different in some ways to other countries and can just go with the flow, I'm sure you will enjoy it. So, would we go back to this hotel? The answer is most definitely, YES!
