Valamar Argosy Hotel

We had a really relaxing time at the hotel. It’s beautifully quiet and the views are spectacular especially at sunset. We had a partial sea view which was a little disappointing as we booked a sea view with TUI. The room had a large screen TV with the only English channel being the news. It would have been nice during the FWC26 if we could watch England in English. There is complimentary kettle, tea and coffee with oat milk if required which was a nice touch. A mini fridge is supplied but, it’s full of items which are supplied by the hotel at a charge. No USB plugs in the room so bring an adapter. A safe is supplied FOC and is a good size. The food was nice but it wasn’t being replenished quick enough during busy times. This wasn’t helped by guests playing food jenga, stacking mountains of food onto plates. Why do people feel that they have to consume a small towns worth of food every visit. Being a vegetarian I was concerned that meats including sausages, bacon, chicken etc were placed at the side of the vegetables. There were times when the vegetables were contaminated with the meat as people were using the same serving utensils for both. A good selection of vegan and gluten free options available. There is a small shop where you can get tickets for the number 6 bus which runs from Babis Kuk to Dubrovnik old town. The tickets are €1.67 as opposed to €2.50 on the bus. The shop doesn’t sell drinks, you have to purchase at the bar. The number 6 bus is really busy at times and you will struggle to get a seat from Old Town back to the hotel. The drivers aren’t like British drivers, they drive at speed and corner quickly. You have to hang on for dear life. As special mention to Iva at the concierge desk and Josep in the restaurant.

The hotel is superb with an excellent restaurant and fantastic choice of food. Mikto and the other staff looked after us with a friendly smile and we will definitely look forward to coming back again. 5 stars!!!

It was our 50th wedding anniversary and they upgraded our room and put flowers and complementary wine in the room which was a very nice surprise. The room and the whole hotel was very clean with a very friendly and pleasant atmosphere. The waiter Davor was very pleasant and helpful and seemed to work extremely hard to make everyone’s stay enjoyable. All the food was very good and very well presented.The hotel is in a very picturesque location with 3 lovely pools.I would highly recommended this hotel I think it should be a 5 star hotel

Great hotel; if you like beautiful views then this is the 1 for you; absolutely stunning all day and night long. The good - food was great for breakfast and dinner, I'm a fussy eater and I had no issues at all! Pools were decent (fresh water not the usual salty chlorine combo), loungers were always available and the staff were an absolute treasure. Old Town 10 mins away on bus (Number 6, €2.50 each way if paying on vehicle) and was the highlight of our trip; gorgeous and getting to see the Game Of Thrones filming places too. Taps had filtered water so no need for those big plastic bottles. The bad - it's not even bad, just expensive. €5.40 for a 250ml of pepsi, less than a regular can. You can grab much cheaper from the shops in old town/the local studenacs but even some of them were pretty pricey. Definitely felt pressured to take on the more expensive side of things in the spa, upgrading what oils they were going to use, after-spa sell of the oils felt a bit much too but apart from that lovely hotel. Rooms are pretty basic/generic for the most part but clean, spacious, chilled etc well worth the stay.

Beautiful hotel with amazing views. Clean and fresh rooms. Very comfortable beds with crisp fresh bedding. Comfortable pillows. Air con could have been slightly cooler but did the job. Breakfast was very nice lots of selection, did see a bit crazy at times. Olive grill by pool was nice but expensive. You can only get drinks from the bars not the onsite shop which I found disappointing. Not even any fresh water available. Access to the beach was hard work with the sister hotel and you have to pay. There is a local bus just down from hotel number 6 takes you straight into the old town. Also if you go out of the hotel turn left so shops and restaurants quite handy. Wish we had more time to explore. This was a very relaxing calm clean hotel perfect for what we wanted. Would recommend
