Family Hotel Vespera

We made a mistake , a couple of friends looking for a good hotel in Losinj. This is a 100 procent Childrens hotel. The average age of the guests is between 0 and 8 There is nothing in the way of adult entertainment / activities . Even though the rooms are spacious and of good quality , they have a maternity hospital feel to them , even down to the lime green and white colouring . The dining room needed headphones , the noise was unbearable, and very much like feeding time at the zoo.it was kaos . We asked to be moved to the neighbouring Aurora sister hotel which was more adult orientated , but at extraordinary overpriced room rates .

The hotel is set in a beautiful location, close to Veli Žal beach and Borik, surrounded by pine trees that create a unique charm. Natural beauty is definitely the strongest point of this part of Lošinj, and it makes up for many of the shortcomings. The staff is very kind, and cleanliness is at a solid level. However, there are several downsides. The food is average, while breakfast and dinner are extremely crowded and stressful. As this is a family-oriented hotel, the soundproofing is poor, so you quickly get used to constant noise – especially with loud kids’ programs such as the evening “baby disco.” The kids’ club is fine, but overall it can feel overwhelming. Prices are very high for the level of service provided. Entering the sea is also challenging, since the coast here is rocky, making the access both tiring and potentially unsafe. In short – if you’re ready to accept the crowds, noise, and high prices in general, you will still be rewarded with the natural beauty of Lošinj and the charm of its surroundings.

The hotel is quite big, which means lot of people, kids, cars, crowds, but it's not so scary. You can enjoy very active, as well as quite peacefull stay. Good points: Location is just perfect, and I mean perfect. The see is spectacular, the smell of pine trees also. Animation for the kids, and the staff in general. Breakfast is good, but could be better, and dinner is very good -always 3 different fish meals, several meat meals, and plenty of salads, fruits and vegetables. Kids have additional meals during animation period. Hygiene is ok, in the rooms, and throughout the hotel. Beer and vine are free of charge at the dinner. Average points: Parking can be tricky. The rooms are quite small. Internet connection is ok, didn't feel any slow periods around the hotel, but down on the beach, there is mostly no signal. Hotel provides beach towels and bag, but doesn't change them until 7 days. For improvement: There are a lot of staircases, especially if you are taking kids to the animation rooms, from the seeshore up to the hotel, and then down the stairs, and then again up... There should be better separation of oedestrians from cars and bikes, both on the shore, and on the road to the city.

Salmonella and e coli appeared in the hotel!! On the second day after arrival, the child developed stomach pains, fever and diarrhea, while our symptoms were milder..we left earlier than planned..The media are now reporting that more than 70 guests are infected.. 19 hotel employees were confirmed to be germ carriers and they were removed from the workplace and kitchen. Shame for 4* hotel! Parking is very difficult to find, even payed one. We will not return ever again!

This year, several children, including my own sons, contracted Salmonella and E. coli during our stay at Hotel Vespera. Due to severe diarrhea and fever, we were confined to our hotel room for five days. The nearest laboratory for diagnosis was in Rijeka, a three-hour drive from Mali Lošinj. Given the poor food hygiene, we will definitely not be returning to this hotel.
